One thing about me is when working in health care I make sure I know what I'm doing or talking about. I ordered my husband glasses and when I was on the phone with the gentleman ordering them we checked on my account. I said I wanted to order mine as well. Lost my glasses. $400 glasses. Weeks ago had I been told I needed an exam again I would have made that exam appointment. When we came in I was not greeted and waiting a long time for one person being helped at the counter. All to be told my prescription expired a couple months ago. I let the lady know the gentleman told me I could just come in and order more glasses. With that being said: word of mouth is important Your word is important. If someone works for you they should be knowledgeable. With loosing my only child my time off has to be scheduled and it's important. I had plenty of other time I could have done this needed exam. Disappointed. Parking meters to park & if you have kids with you they can't get out on both sides. It would be dangerous. read more

I have been going to EYEcenter for 2 years. I have worn glasses since I was 8 and contacts since I was 16. I'm so impressed with how thorough my eye exams are. This office seems to have much more updated equipment than the last eye doctor I was seeing (in San Diego), and they are always really quick and courteous. With my glasses, I've been able to come in multiple times to get them adjusted after trying them out. The staff are always VERY attentive and willing to make any adjustments very quickly. The office is well organized and I've never had to wait more than a minute to be seen. The office is also shared with my dentist so that makes it very convenient! read more

Being the procrastinator that I am, I needed a new prescription, like yesterday. While looking for optometrists that took walk ins (I doubt that's even a thing) I came across EYEcenter who has convenient online booking and an opening for the next day! Every employee that encountered was lovely and professional. My visit was very thorough, utilizing modern technology to get extensive data on my vision and eye health. Dr. Jansen Coen finalized my prescription very patiently, double and even triple checking what lens I felt was the clearest. I am very satisfied with the quality of care and attention that I received at this business and would recommend it to anyone. read more

5 stars because the dr is amazing! He had so much patience with my son in the room freaking out. He had a nice sense of humor. I really wish the rest of his staff was as kind and friendly like he was. The entire front staff was very dull, unwelcoming, even the guy at the glass counter. The Asian lady that helped me, by measuring my eye sight, and taking me to my room was very friendly. The rest of the front desk should learn from her. But just because the front desk and the glass guy isn't welcoming, you won't regret coming because the dr is amazing! He's honest, trustworthy, friendly, polite, and best of all he has sooo much patience. He never rolled his eyes once or looked upset with my son freaking out. You know genuinely he's a good person. Horrible!!!! Promised glasses in less than 2 weeks... Heading into almost a month now.. I would give zero stars if I could... My entire goal when I placed my order was to purchase frames that would get here the quickest these took the LONGEST! I'll never purchase glasses here again! Out of all the glasses stores in Sacramento trust me when I say go somewhere else. Even the parking is horrible and you have to pay to park right in front of the store. After 25 years of patronage, I can no longer recommend EyeCenter Optometric. Today they enforced a late policy that they don't disclose in advance or list on their website. My husband is in the ICU so my 16 year old drove themself the their appointment after school. After no success locating the parking garage and parking in another one nearby, they were wandering the streets to find the office because the sign outside is for a dentist instead. Meanwhile I was calling EyeCenter's office to see if someone could step out and wave down my kiddo, but couldn't get to a live person. They finally found the office and got to their appointment but were 20 minutes late. All the paperwork had been filled out electronically in advance so no form time was needed, but they would not see my kiddo. I spoke with three different people on the phone, none of whom seemed interested in helping or offering any solutions. Kiddo hung out for an hour waiting to get fit in, but I finally called it and told them to head home. I've been to their Gold River, Citrus Heights, and Rocklin locations in years past and have never experienced such poor customer service as the midtown location. Looks like it's time to find another optometrist to give our business to. read more

I've been here twice, two separate years. The first time, I only had an eye exam, the second time I also ordered glasses (which I can pick up in two to three weeks) Both times, I've found the staff to be helpful, respectful, and very nice. But what I love the most is how nice and charming the doctors are. I've had two different doctors, both very patient (I blink. A LOT), both very friendly and very informative without sounding patronizing or anything. After my doctor, I met with a staff member to go through ordering my glasses. I found him very helpful and he answered every single question I had and put up with my indecisiveness which was again very nice. All in all, I love it here and I know I'll be back next year for my next eye exam. read more

This specific location is the worst. I was running late for my appointment and gave them a call to make sure they can still see me. They confirmed that as long as it is within the 15min range, I will be seen. I had to pay for parking in downtown, rushed to make it before 15min and they cancelled my appointment (even tho all my paperwork was already pre-signed)!!! I waited 50min for the next available slot. Had to call in for the day. They did not give me a wifi password so I couldn't work remotely. They didn't even try to accommodate nor offered any help at least out of courtesy. Sad.. read more

I'm so thankful to have met such a wonderful ophthalmology team! For the last four days my eye had been burning, bright red and half way swollen shut. It felt like every time I blinked it was scratched or a small piece of rock was under my eye lid- PAINFUL. They were able to get me in right away for an emergency exam and I was in and out in less than 30 minutes ALONG with discomfort being solved right away. A scratched cornea is NO fun but they took care of me and I left feeling so much relief. I couldn't be anymore thankful. read more

Changing my review to reflect the current level of service. I'm leaving this practice after several years as a patient for the following reasons: *Seems nearly the entire staff has turned over since I first started coming here and customer service has severely declined with it. *The doctor I see is cold and unfriendly. Even with my records in front of her, she gets important details wrong every time. *Reception staff seems disorganized about everything, and after a month of waiting, there was no communication regarding the status of my back-ordered contacts. *I had to follow up multiple times re the above and my call wasn't returned after several business days. A week after that, I still don't have my contacts. *On my last call, at one point I was told "I'm sorry you feel that way." There isn't a more loaded deflecting, non-apology than that. My feelings are a reaction to unprofessional behavior - behavior that is your responsibility, not mine. It's a shame to have to go elsewhere but my eye health is important to me and it doesn't seem it's taken seriously here. read more

I have been going here for years. Plus the last optometrist I saw made a comment about immigrants attending our colleges. I had my glasses broken at work, and was able to schedule an appointment a week later as a new client with my vision plan VSP. I was seen by Linda Rappa, who was very helpful during my visit and answered all my questions. Once seen by Linda, I was able to choose out frames with a gentleman, who's name I didn't get, and the options seemed endless. The gentleman, was helpful with informing me about pricing, taking my measurements, and was patient as I took my time looking at the frames. I was able to try on as many frames as I wanted, they just asked for me to put the ones I touched into a box for sanitizing. Once I made the decision, I was informed my frames would be back 2-3 weeks later. Today I got an email and text informing me my frames were ready (13 days later). I was able to make an appointment over the phone to pick up my frames 20 minutes later. The gentleman who helped with my framing, was helping me once I arrived, and he had me try the frames to make sure they were good. I felt they needed a bit more tightening and He was able to tighten them before I left. Overall it was a great experience and I'll be sure to come back, hopefully on my own terms and not because of getting them broken at work. read more

I had a great experience at this location. Kevin was great and walked me through all of the exams/procedures. They also have the most up-to-date technology so no terrible dilation of your pupils or disturbing blow in the eye! Dr. Lum was very thorough and made sure she assessed all my needs. Picking out my glasses was a very good experience; I was able to take my time and get advice from the rep. Luckily my insurance covered a big chunk and I only had to come out a few dollars out of pocket! I look forward to my care with this facility. read more

I moved to downtown Sacramento and finally made an eye exam appointment after wearing the same pair of glasses for a few years. I was a patient at the Rocklin location but since this one is a lot closer now I set up my appointment here. Did not disappoint! It's easy to navigate to, plenty of surrounding on street parking and I believe there's a parking garage where they will validate for also. All of the employees were super friendly and helpful and Dr. Linda Rappa was amazing! She was super thorough with explaining everything and she really seemed like she cared. They also have a great selection of prescription glasses here, I had a hard time narrowing it down. I did finally land on a pair, thanks to the gentleman up front for his patience and helpfulness! Can't wait to receive my new glasses and I definitely recommend this location and Dr. Rappa all your eye needs. Two thumbs up! read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I was a patient at the former Adair optometry and never had any problems but since the new company merged in, it's been horrible. I ordered new frames FIVE weeks ago. Once, they broke during transport. Second time, they actually tried to give me kids' size frames. I call for status checks twice a week. I get promises that they will call the lab to check on status, that'll I'll get a call back - I never get a call back. Never. When I then call back, there are no notes on their end of my previous call/ conversation. My benefits renew once a year - I can't even go somewhere else unless I want to pay completely out of pocket. Don't go here unless you have time and money to throw away. read more

I only have good things to say about eyecenter. I have seen Dr. Adair twice and every time I see him, he makes my exams simple and easy. I have a hard time finding the right contacts because the shape of my eyes and he was able to give me a couple of options that would work for me. Eyecenter has a wide selection of glasses that I haven't seen in most places. And I love the glasses and the contacts that I have received from them. I highly recommended them! read more

Yesterday I had an appointment at 11:20, I arrived at 11:05 at J st just for them to tell me THE DAY OF that that wasn't the location of my appointment. No one said anything after calling me to confirm that they had multiple locations. The Gold River location was 20 minutes away and the lady at the desk said she'd call the other office to see if they could make an exception since I am a first time patient. She took her sweet time and didn't even call. I had to fight the automated system because it is utterly ridiculous that you have to jump through hoops to talk to a real person. She insisted we'd get there before the 15 minute grace period and then she turned to start talking to her coworker so me and my mom rushed out to try and make it to their other location. We tried calling over the phone and when we were FINALLY patched over to someone, she clearly doesn't like her job because whoever answered that phone the front desk was very rude, very dismissive and very crass in her responses to my mom and I. I told her I would arrive 1 minute after the grace period and she acted like she didn't want to help or assist any further on how to rectify them not even sending my an address. She didn't offer any additional assistance so I could actually be seen. Instead of cursing her out I hung up in her face. Her attitude sucked and I will never come back to ANY location. read more

On January 2nd we ordered a pair of glasses for my daughter following her eye exam. Today is January 22nd and we have yet to receive her glasses. I understand things happen, but we also haven't received a phone call. I called (for the third time) today around 4pm, and spoke with a man who told me there "may have been a frame delay", and he would call the lab and then call me back. I didn't receive a call back. They are now closed. You can walk to the nearest competitor. And I strongly suggest you do. Oh and beware the dreaded "frame delay"... read more

I was used to my mom always scheduling my appts and dealing with insurance. This was the first time I had to do everything on my own and first time getting glasses. The team here helped me understand my insurance better and know what my payment was going to be before I even came in for my appt. They got me an appt convenient for me and my busy work schedule. Parking was easy, the staff was welcoming, check in was easy, the waiting room was cute with snacks, coffee, and tea. The staff knowledgeable and educated me on the process as it was my first time. Todd Adair was friendly and got me the perfect prescription for my needs. They followed up with me through out the year and I just had my annual check up and it was just as great as the first time. read more

The front desk lady was very rude and made me feel very guilty for even walking in the door. I was even asked how I found out where the shop was. Um, you're on J St. It's busy. Duh. Well I had to get my first pair of glasses...for driving at night. I thought I had pretty good eye site, but WOW what a difference now; I can actually see!! I tried on a bunch of frames, but when your eyes have been dilated; it's kinda hard to really see what the frames look like on. Thank god the husband was there to give me his opinion. But now come to think about it his eyes were dilated also. Well, anyway I did find a pair of frames and have been told I look very cute in them. Dr. Adair and his staff are professional, friendly and very help full. Dr. Adair has been my optometrist for 12 years. He never upsells, his staff is fair and professional, the prices are reasonable and they take pretty much every type of insurance. He also sees my 4-yr old daughter who wears glasses and even though he doesn't market himself as a pediatric optometrist, he is VERY good with kids, as good as the "specialist" practices, and makes everything much easier for a fidgety child. His staff is great with kids too - and adults. They have an excellent selection and seem willing to special order pretty much whatever you need as well. It's also probably the only optometrist in town where you can get a same day (or same week!) appointment. They've very flexible and helpful with insurance, payment, etc. The location can't be better, either - right between midtown and downtown, with a huge parking lot in the building, right off the freeway and pretty much close to everything. I would give them 5 stars if they validated parking in their own lot - every single other business in the entire building does! Additionally, a fifth star if they weren't closed at lunch or had better hours would be good. A regular human being, who works a 9-5 job, would never be able to pick up their own glasses without taking time off work, which many employers don't allow: they open at 9, close at 4:30 or 5, and are closed during most folks' lunch break. This seems amazingly shortsighted, and I've never heard of an office like this having such a policy, but maybe I'm just inexperienced as to the ways of the world ... but he's still a good optometrist & the office is still pleasant! read more

Been going here for several years. My last pair of lenses the coating started coming off, they were under warranty so I requested replacements without coating. Well I went in at the end of the year because once again something was wrong. The tech looked at my lenses and said it was coating coming off (even though it wasn't supposed to be on them) that they were under warranty so I would have replacement lenses in 2 or so weeks at no cost. Well, got a call within a few days if that visit, after the first of the year saying they couldn't replace more than once, so I'd have to use my insurance. Now of course it was a week into the new calendar year, which defeated my purpose of going in prior to end of the year to use my 2022 benefits. The tech I confirmed this information with over the phone could not speak for the first tech, didn't seem that interested in customer service, so thanks Derrick you help me decide to take my business elsewhere. They made the service safe and masks were worn and the entire staff is both knowledgable, professional and courteous. They had a good selection and I was able to find unusual frames that work for my tastes. Finding a new doctor is never too fun, so when I chose Dr. Priscilla Chang I wasn't sure what I was getting in to. She turned out to be very friendly and AMAZING. She was very knowledgeable about my eye disease & provided me with info & resources regarding it that my previous Doctor had not . I've visited her twice now & she has already helped me immensely with understanding my eye disease & with treatments/contacts/lenses that best suit me. I feel very disappinted with the service received. They made 4 tries to do my contact lenses and none of them worked. Since I got tired and frustated, I asked them to return the money I paid for them that was not covered under my insurance. They refused saying that I received training and that had to be paid. I agree it has to be paid if you get the service you desire and this wasn't the case. The final result is that I cannot wear their contact lenses cause they don't match my measure. They received payment from my insurance anyways for the training. I guess losing a customer for $127.50 is not worth it. I wouldn't recommend it. read more

Dr. Palmer Lee is the only doctor out of 2 who recognized/diagnosed a cataract in my right eye. Understanding my symptoms in conjunction with a few simple routine diagnostic tests and he has referred me for a routine cataract procedure. Eyecenter Optometric's support staff are very kind and professional. From the time spent with Dr. Palmer, I can assure you he has a vast history of experience in his field, an he cares about his patients. I love Dr Adair's office and I have been going there for 15 years.

I had my very first visit with Dr Tran tonight and I can safely say this is where I will continue to go for as long as I can. The office is nicely decorated, clean, and comfortable. I know nothing about optometric technology but compared to other eye doctors I've been to, it feels like EYECenter Optometric is all up to date with the current technology. The selection of frames was a tiny bit smaller than I'm used to but there was still a decent enough variety to try on and ultimately I found a pair that I love. All the staff were warm and friendly and greeted us immediately when we walked in the door. They were engaging throughout every step of the appointment and explained everything very well. I love that they offer a variety of hours throughout the week and even though we were the last two appointments tonight, they never once made us feel rushed and allowed us time to browse through the frames until we were certain which ones we wanted (even though it was the night before a long holiday weekend and I'm sure they wanted to get home to their families). I would definitely recommend this office to anyone looking for a new eye doctor and am appreciative of such a great experience. read more

I am SO mad at Dr. Todd Adair for selling his Capitol Optometry practice which was formerly located on 12th & K St. to Dr. Tiffany Lu and NOT notifying ANY of his patients. I have been a patient of Dr. Adair's for over 10 years and I can not believe that he did not have the common courtesy to send me a .25 cent post card to let me know that he sold his practice along w/ MY medical record. I have referred countless people to Dr. Adair and I have been getting phone calls ALL year from people complaining about the lack of professionalism. It's NOT OK to have your patients call you to make an appointment and have someone tell us that it's an entire different practice, but they have your record and can see you. Wow, thanks Dr. Adair for giving us the option to follow you to your practice on 29th & J Street or seeing Dr. Lu. My friends and I have remained loyal to you for years and we get ditched in return, NOT nice. read more
