Came here in dire need of a haircut in the San Jose area. Called to asked about appointments and they said appointments only on weekends but were willing to see us in two hours... ? Okay haha. Waited a few minutes before Samira (I think that was her name) approached us and asked for what we wanted. She made suggestions but wasn't too pushy like other hairdressers. Went here last night. I had face threading done. The skin surrounding eyebrows was super red even though all I had done was light cleaning on brows. My eyebrows nor the rest of my face looked clean like I normally notice after getting threading done. The threader seemed inexperienced and just had gross hygiene (especially noticeable when their face is unusually so close the entire time). The threading itself was super harsh and sloppy. I get threading done every two weeks and this was by far the worst experience, def regret going here. read more

They recently moved out of the mall and are now in front of DSW in a new location. The new location is very modern and renovated. The staff was so excited to show us the new place and inform us of all the newly added services. I waited for weeks until they opened up again as I only trust Subarna with my eyebrows. I had a similar experience to Julian (from previous review). Just overall not a good service. I went in to get henna done, which was at best mediocre, and I didn't have interest in getting my eyebrows done. I was basically forced into getting my eyebrows done by being told repeatedly that it was "time to get threaded." I told the lady that I don't even do threading because it's too painful for me but she insisted that I had to do threading and that waxing wouldn't be good for me. It was honestly terrifying how forceful she was, and I didn't even feel like I had a choice. On top of that, my eyebrows barely looked any different afterwards and I was charged $15 for it. I think the way she was behaving was as if we were in India/Pakistan (they're very forceful to get their way in these countries, I know since I have that background) but I was born and raised in America so it was very uncomfortable and almost violating to be treated like this. Do not recommend. P.S. this all happened after I waited 15 or so minutes to even get any service, left the store and came back because of the wait time and even then had to wait extra. read more

I usually go to the one in my home town in tracy but since I was in San jose I decided to come by before heading home to get my eyebrows done. From walking in to waiting it was pretty fast. Once I sat down and got my eyebrows done the lady who did mine was pretty frikn fast like I was done within minutes I was pretty shocked with the service on how quickly she finished the whole time she kept insiting me to buy a card when she told me she was done I checked my eyebrows out to see and from the lighting they have in there place was not bright but I took a chance and told her thank you. When paying I have her a $5 tip. But when I got home that's another story. Really disappointed that she really didn't clean my eyebrows up she didn't attend me like I get attended at the place I go to in my hometown I was upset because I had to clean my eyebrows up so to me that was a waste of my time and money. I've been Patty's client for 6 years now so when I went into Valleyfair looking for her at their old location and found a sign saying they moved to a different one, I left immediately to go straight there with no hesitation. Yes, she's THAT good!! All of the staff are in fact! The new location is at 3581 Stevens Creek Blvd. and it's BEAUTIFUL. Once you walk in you'll notice it's super clean and spacious with a beautiful waiting area, great bathrooms, and a whole separate space to get your massages, facials, waxes, and henna done! They even have a little section with fresh drinks and snacks for us too!! The parking space for their customers is another plus as well and if & when it gets packed there's usually street parking on the side that's almost always available! 10/10 definitely recommend read more

I hadn't done anything beauty related since before covid started not counting a haircut. I was debating doing something about my eyebrows for a while now. I happened to walk out of the Macy's brow bar after deciding it was to expensive. I saw this place, and was looking at the prices through the window, when Pragma/ Patty came out and explained the pricing: 15 for threading and gave me 35 for the tint. Apparently the tint price ranges from 35-42. She made exception for the first time because I was concerned about the prices. I'm pinching pennies because covid related money problems, so this really made a difference for me. We ended having surprisingly fun conversation about how different age groups and cultures like have different preferences on eyebrow thickness and darkness. And how normally its best start out lighter because you can't go back when its super dark. Pragma impressed me with her thoughtfulness and attentiveness to the subjective nature of beauty preferences. I'll definitely be coming back. I loved the thickness and tint color I got. I wish i could give them no stars but yelp does not allow it. So my cousin went in to this salon about 3 weeks ago or so and she got her hair completely ruined by these girls that have no idea what they're doing. So me and my cousin do eachother's hair all the time and don't have any degrees but have somewhat of an idea of what we do. I have been doing a long process to her hair and was bleached at the tips but the roots were virgin. She wanted something a bit more professional done so she decided to try this salon. She went in and asked if they could do the color that she had on a picture and they said yeah. After they started her hair she mentioned that it would be better if she darkened her base. My cousin said no and the girl seemed surprised. The girls were texting someone and googlong how they could fix her hair. HORRIBLE!! About half way my cousin noticed the color coming out a bit too dark so she asked for them to stop. The girl explained that once she dried it it would look lighter, so they did so and it was still dark. My cousin outraged at the service and inexperience got her stuff and left. I would NEVER go back and would recommend everyone to STAY AWAY from this hell hole. This place is a joke filled with young girls who don't know anything. read more

Nice selection of looks for their blowouts, but you can also let them know if you like more or less curl. They also make sure to ask about whether it's ok to use product.
