I've been going to Aarna Threading Salon for 3 years. I will no longer be coming because of my experience with Liz. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I came in a few minutes late due to issues with parking, and when I came in she immediately had a negative attitude and said, "Your appointment is basically half way over."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I told her that I would be happy to reschedule the appointment, and I understand that I was running a little late. She took the initiative and told me she would still be able to take me. As soon as we started, I told her how I wanted my eyebrows which was consistent with the other times she's done them. Throughout the threading appointment, she was intermittently checking her phone and did not seem focused on the task at hand. She seemed to be rushing through my appointment, which was very unfortunate since I offered to reschedule. Midway through the appointment, I looked at my eyebrows in the mirror and it was obvious that she messed up on one side and made it way too thin and short. She noticed my concern and said she will fix it. She only made my eyebrows even more uneven, and I told her that we could stop there because they're way thinner than I asked for. Had a good experience with Yunica for eyebrow threading. I made an appointment online a day before for 5PM. On the day of, I had time earlier, so I called to see if I could get it moved earlier to 3 and they were able to accommodate. I ended up needing to wait ~10 minutes since Yunica was helping someone else. I was personally in and out in less than 10 minutes. I had a very strange experience here that I've never had elsewhere so I'm just going to give you the facts and you can make your own judgements. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I walk in and the stylist/receptionist is on her phone and doesn't so much as give me a smile or a welcoming attitude.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She asked me if I have an appointment and I said no. And she asks me "only eyebrows right?", this is normal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]While I explain to her how I like my eyebrows, she isn't paying attention.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I told her that I like to thread the sparse areas so that my eyebrows look more full. At the end, she explained to me that she left an area untouched because I need more hair growth. While I appreciated her taking the time to explain that to me, I had actually told her I wanted those areas threaded in the beginning. So far I had no issues, I'm not super picky with my eyebrows so I settled for how they were (which wasn't bad by the way). This is when things started to irk me: I went to pay and she swipes my card then tells me their system is down and I'll need to pay with Zelle. I don't really use Zelle so I offer to venmo. She says no Zelle only. So I'm on my phone trying to figure out how to pull up Zelle and getting no connection. I ask for their wifi and she gives me an annoyed face when I confirm. The wifi doesn't work so I tell her and-she goes "oh I think they changed the password, you can go outside it usually works out there". So I go outside and FINALLY am able to zelle them. In that time two other guests had walked in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I go back to let her know and tell her it was super inconvenient that I had to do all that and she should've just told me in the beginning that their system was down. I've been going to Aarna Threading Salon for my eyebrows for years now. Super happy that's it's just a short drive down the road from me. Even more happy that they're on Vagaro -- same as my hair salon which makes the booking process super easy. Love the ambiance here. It's always air conditioned, never full of people, and it's the most efficient grooming experience you'll ever have. I have pretty thicc brows, but the staff here always have me in and out under 10 minutes. Appointments aren't that hard to secure a few days out and because they're so fast, they have a slot basically every 15 minutes. Yunica has been my favorite go-to person. She has a very gentle touch and doesn't need much direction. As a guy, I just get a quick clean up every few months. Best $12 you'll spend. read more

Great spot for threading! They take walk ins and appointments online. It's super easy to book online (you can't cancel or change your appointment within 8 hours of your appointment). I came in fairly early for my schedule appointment but they were able to take me in right away. Yunica did my eyebrows and did an amazing job. Local threading shop I have gone to a couple of times. Overall, good quality work and the staff are really kind. However, I will say they seem unorganized. The quality of their online platform to make appointments needs to be improved because you need to have an account and it's glitchy. This week, I showed up to my appointment early and they helped me. Then they later realized I was the wrong customer, which they apologized about and was fine. But 10 mins after I left, I'm getting calls asking about whether I will come to my appointment. Aarna Threading is in a busy but not impossible to park plaza with an Indian supermarket and a Smart Final. Id give yourself at least 5 min to find parking. I booked my appointment before. I do love that they have an online appointment system which makes the wait time never more than 10 min. (FYI: I use to be a loyal Deepa Salon customer but recently needed to look for other options because her limited schedule didn't work with my work schedule and the wait times can be quite long.) I was nervous to try a new place but decided to give Aarna a go. After reading the reviews, I decided to book with Yunica and I wasn't disappointed. She was very sweet, patient and easy to talk to. She asked me several times what I wanted and checked in at several points. My brows are a tad thinner than before but I really like them nonetheless. She cleaned them up nicely! I'll start by saying I've been coming here for almost 4 years now for eyebrow threading. Unfortunately, my most recent experience fell short of the otherwise good experiences I've had to date. I usually get threaded by Durga and occasionally Pooja, but decided to book with Rabina, based on availability. The first thing I noticed was that she immediately started threading without talking to me about what I wanted, which given I've never seen her before, made me a little concerned. So I actually interrupted her to tell her that I wanted- to just do a clean up and maintain my shape and thickness. As she acknowledged and proceeded, I noticed her technique was very different than what I was accustomed to. For example, she would go over an area multiple times and with a pressure that was actually a bit painful. At this point, my gut was telling me to request she stop and see if someone else could help, but I seconded-guessed myself and really didn't want to cause a scene or ruckus. Ultimately, I wish I had. Other things that threw me off about this threader was she corrected me multiple times with how I was holding my skin taut for her to thread. I've never had someone do that before and that also kinda seemed like a red flag. When I looked in the mirror after she finished, it didn't seem too bad- I don't expect perfection, but when I went back to my car to examine more closely I noticed I was bleeding under each eyebrow and on one of the my eyebrows the inner corner/front had been over threaded. I'm not sure if the issue was she just made some mistakes which I understand happens or she was inexperienced/not trained properly. I hate to leave a more critical review, particularly during this tougher time, however, this was my honest experience and I feel like others should be aware. I would still definitely recommend this salon, but just encourage others to see only specific threaders. read more

I loved coming to Aarna because of Amrita - she is kind, listens carefully to your individual requests, and is very thorough. She left on her maternity leave in December, and I was excited for her return back in April. Unfortunately, I did not find Amrita on the Aarna website, and I was saddened to learn that Aarna did not hire her back once she had her baby. I was a loyal customer of Aarna for about 10 years, but I will no longer be returning since Amrita is no longer there. Luckily, I was able to find Amrita again through Amrita Kaur Makeovers on instagram and yelp. I will continue going to her because she is a true gem! read more

This place has multiple things going wrong, : 1. I made a walk in, I tried to call earlier that day and there was no answer, I saw online that they had multiple spots open with multiple people so I figured it wouldn't be a problem to accommodate me, at the get go the lady at the counter was downright cold and rude, it was as if she was so irritated that I walked in, her demeanor was totally unwelcoming. At the entrance the place seemed neat and it misled me into thinking that would be the case throughout the salon 2. I needed to get waxed, the room I was taken into was just so stuffy, stinky and unclean. I told the lady who was to do my waxing that I was happy to wait till it got cleaned or to go into another room that was already prepped for waxing. Both of these requests were denied with some excus like the person who used this room didn't clean up after themselves, the other room is being used already etc, the lady Ms.Kanta who was doing my waxing seemed okay and I had already spent quite a bit of time trying to get this done so I decided to continue the service thinking it might get better once the room cools down and the air is circulated. It took forever, I was a sticky mess with leftover wax from my arms sticking over the cover paper on the bed at multiple spots and the room kept getting hotter, it was a good 76F, with no ventilation or fan or ac for 30 mins by the time I got done. I also noticed in the meantime that the paper was laid out on a VERY dirty bed. I requested to get out for upperlip waxing since I couldn't take it any longer in that stuffy room. When I got back home I noticed there was still leftover wax at multiple spots on me, one waxing bruise and one wax burn, not to mention multiple hairy spots that have been missed, so looks like the service sucked too. I requested to speak to the owner to convey my feedback and to ensure future customers are not impacted with such a poor experience. I was told she would call back and my number was taken. I am still waiting for that call. I tried reaching out to the Santa Clara location today and was told she is at the Sunnyvale location, I called the Sunnyvale location and was told she isn't available and yet again promised a call back. This place seems to be popular for threading services and that area near the entrance seemed well maintained but that's about it. Will update if I ever get a call back from Ms.Ritu Definitely do not recommend waxing services here. read more

After three months in Texas, I'm so happy to have finally reunited my eyebrows with Pooja's threading skills. Pooja has been my go-to for just about four years now, and I'm forever grateful that my high school classmate recommended Aarna to me that one fateful day in English class so long ago. My eyebrows have been through it all--I've plucked them, shaved them, waxed them, drew on them with eyebrow pencil, used brow gel, you name it. When COVID first caused lockdown, I resorted to maintaining my brows on my own. Although I managed to get by with my facial razor and a couple of YouTube tutorials, nothing quite gets me feeling a million bucks like when I leave Pooja's chair. Threading at Aarna might be on the pricier side ($12 for as long as I can remember, same price as of yesterday), but it is well worth it. Every time I leave the salon I get in my car and spend probably too much time looking at my eyebrows in my rearview mirror and showing off my snatched brows in a couple of photos before driving off. I've tried to get the same effect by myself, but I never come close. The day Pooja retires from doing eyebrows will probably make me cry. Even though I only see her for about five minutes every month when I'm in the Bay, she's been with me from high school through college, when I was with my ex and after I was no longer with him, when I got my first big girl job and when I got my second. When I read other reviews from people who have been loyal Pooja clients for years and years, I just smile. I never would have thought doing eyebrows could be so fulfilling. read more

I was more than willing to wait, but I was immediately told that Deepa would take me since I was late. Deepa was nicer but unfortunately made my brows too thin. I had to stop her from taking more off after I already said they were thinner than I'd like. I'd be more understanding if it was super busy, but there was only one other client there and Yunica finished up with her within 10 minutes. I don't think it was necessary to be so cold. Do not get your eyebrows done here. Mine were left super uneven, with patches left on both sides and incorrect trimming. She wasn't even going to trim them until I told her. My eyes brows are soooo long I have always needed them trimmed. When she didn't trim them, I knew something was wrong. I didn't want to go to my regular place because I was tired of paying $20 but you get what you pay for, now I know. The $8 I saved by coming here was not worth it. read more
