Dr. Stromness has provided excellent service for my eye exams for over three years now. I would recommend Canyon Eye Specialists to others.

Awesome experience! I came in for a consult on a Wednesday & had my LASIK surgery the following…read moreFriday. The whole process was easy and well explained by the staff & Doctor. The procedure itself was about 10-15 minutes. It was absolutely painless, just felt some pressure. My eyes were very sensitive after the procedure (why naps are encouraged). I got home, took a 4 hour nap and when I woke up, the eye irritation was significantly less. Every passing day, my eyes are less dry and irritated. And my vision seems to get better and clearer. After care was very easy, eye drops and vitamins. Price was great, office staff is great, process & after care, great. Very satisfied and glad I chose to come here. Would definitely recommend!

It's also the biggest chain and has multiple locations throughout the US, beating the competitors here in Utah. My Dr was Sally Thompson and she has a ton of experience. I encourage you to research your drs before going through with any surgery. I think Dr Thompson has over 50,000 successful lasik procedures completed. The staff was amazing and all very nice. The procedure itself only took like 15min. It is exactly 24hrs since I got the procedure done. I went to lasik plus today for my follow up appointment. My vision is already BETTER than 20/20, and once the haloing goes away due to the healing process, my vision will become even clearer. If I was given the choice to do it all over again or stay using glasses/contacts, I would do the procedure again without hesitation. And I would recommend that anyone get it done for themselves if they were candidates. I would absolutely send them to Lasik Plus.

I am a colleague of Dr. Phil Hoopes, not a patient. I practice in Los Angeles. I visited Hoopes…read moreVision for a 2-day conference this past week (my second visit in the past 2 years). Hoopes Vision is one of the best and most well-respected practices in the nation, possibly in the entire world, for vision correction care and leading-edge clinical research. Yes, they have extraordinary technology to help their expert team deliver great care. But the entire team is also dedicated to excellence in patient care, crafting an unbelievable patient experience as well as creating outstanding results for the patients they serve. Drs. Phil Hoopes, Sr., Michael Bradley, Phil Hoopes Jr. and Majid Moshirfar are not only excellent technical surgeons but also wonderful, compassionate, caring people. It was an honor and treat to visit, learning from them as well as the entire team at Hoopes Vision. They lead by example. In an era where much in health care is going in another direction, they are true gentlemen; each much more modest than others might be in their situation; each dedicated to excellence in patient care, team spirit, and compassion for the patients they serve. I would recommend them in the strongest possible terms. David A. Wallace, M.D. LA Sight Los Angeles CA

Notably, this is such a rare quality in our society in general, that the fact that it can still exist in light of all the stressors we all face in the world is actually miraculous. For my part, I can only convey the thought I know that I've been truly blessed by the experience. My vision has been corrected beyond my expectations. Whereas before I dare not approach a book, a newspaper or let alone my phone without glasses, now i am typing this review. In my observations, having such a variety of people come together with all their private lives looming always in the background of their own minds; to have the aforementioned capacity to bless me, convey empathy to me and display a certain investment in my outcome glaringly speaks to the fact the entire staff that attended to my needs in this facility are individually unique and beautiful souls with the skillsets to match in ensuring that you leave there far better than when you arrived. A review of a place like this will vary depending on the goods or services bought. In my case I had…read morea new eye prescription and just needed lenses for my existing frames. I spoke to someone named Maurisa (the store manager) about my glasses/lenses and what I wanted. I had two pairs - one was progressives and the other bifocals for computer and reading. I said that (like the ones I had), I wanted polycarbonate anti-scratch/reflective and UV protection. The subject of premium vs regular progressive lenses came up and she looked at mine and said that they were premium with the wide field of view (which is what I was told by the place I got them). I said OK that's what I want and she printed out a quote for both pairs. I asked point blank if, once I got the lenses, how long did I have to get them replaced free of charge if I needed a corrected prescription and was it 30 days like other optometry stores? She said it was two years, that the warranty was for two years. I said since I didn't have a backup pair of glasses, that I needed to wait while the lenses were changed at their lab in WVC and she said it would cost $20 for each pair. She did all the frame and pupil measurements and I went ahead and purchased the lenses. When the lenses came in two weeks later I went to the lab in WVC on Parkway. They told me the cost was $30. I said I was told it was $20. They said it had been $30 for a year and I wondered why Maurisa didn't know that. They let me go ahead and get it done for $20 per pair. When the glasses came back the lenses had been put in the wrong frames. I asked why they did that. They looked in the computer and said that Maurisa had gotten the frames and lenses mixed up on the order. They took the new lenses out, put the old ones back in and reordered the lenses and made new measurements and adjusted the order in the computer. Now I would have to wait another two weeks which turned out to be 3 before I could get the new lenses. Once the new lenses were put in the correct frames I asked them how long I had to have the lenses replaced free of charge if I needed with a new/corrected prescription and they said it was 30 days not two years. Anyway it turned out I couldn't see right in the progressives for various reasons and both pairs were blurry so I got a new/corrected prescription and went back to WVC within a week. I explained that there were some problems with the progressives and I asked if they could confirm if in fact I had received the premium lenses with the wide field of view. In looking in the computer they said no that they were not the premium lenses but were the narrow field of view. I then asked who the district manager was so I could speak to them to get this corrected (without being charged). I then went to the Murray store (WVC wasn't able to do anything at that time) to get things resolved since I didn't trust the competence at the Sandy store. So to sum up, I was either lied to or given the wrong information on numerous counts by Maurisa. I was told the wrong amount for same day lenses at the lab - $20 instead of $30. When I asked point blank how long I had to get new lenses without charge if I needed a corrected prescription I was told two years when it was in fact 30 days. My order was not entered into the computer correctly causing the wrong lenses to be put into the wrong frames and I was given the wrong type of progressive lenses after I had specifically said what I wanted and told that's what I was getting. The rest of this story is told via (Google) reviews of the WVC and Murray stores. Google deleted this post from their site last October so I'm posting it here.
