Awesome experience! I came in for a consult on a Wednesday & had my LASIK surgery the following Friday. The whole process was easy and well explained by the staff & Doctor. The procedure itself was about 10-15 minutes. It was absolutely painless, just felt some pressure. My eyes were very sensitive after the procedure (why naps are encouraged). I got home, took a 4 hour nap and when I woke up, the eye irritation was significantly less. Every passing day, my eyes are less dry and irritated. And my vision seems to get better and clearer. After care was very easy, eye drops and vitamins. Price was great, office staff is great, process & after care, great. Very satisfied and glad I chose to come here. I shopped around a little bit before making my decision to get my lasik eye surgery done here. The pricing was about the same at the competitors but at Lasik plus, you don't pay any extra on your warranty, and it's near impossible to void your warranty. It's also the biggest chain and has multiple locations throughout the US, beating the competitors here in Utah. My Dr was Sally Thompson and she has a ton of experience. I encourage you to research your drs before going through with any surgery. I think Dr Thompson has over 50,000 successful lasik procedures completed. The staff was amazing and all very nice. The procedure itself only took like 15min. It is exactly 24hrs since I got the procedure done. I went to lasik plus today for my follow up appointment. My vision is already BETTER than 20/20, and once the haloing goes away due to the healing process, my vision will become even clearer. If I was given the choice to do it all over again or stay using glasses/contacts, I would do the procedure again without hesitation. And I would recommend that anyone get it done for themselves if they were candidates. I would absolutely send them to Lasik Plus. read more

I put a request in for a reevaluation of my eyesight 2 years after procedure. I was informed I had to go to an outside eye center to get an eye exam. And yes I had to pay out of pocket. A few months went past when I was informed I would now need another eye exam at their center and I would be contacted to schedule this. I haven't heard nothing. Today marks exactly four weeks after my Lasik procedure at Lasik Plus. Everyone was very professional with me every step of the way. During my evaluation (which was free), I was given an instructional video that answered many of my questions about the procedure upfront. What I recall the most was that every person I interacted with asked me if I had any questions, and made time to answer them. I was given my quote right after my evaluation, which included their current sale, as well as an extra discount for my insurance. I was also briefly shown the room where the equipment was behind glass windows (note, I wasn't aware at the time they they close the curtains for the actual procedure day, which was a relief). I also got to take the paperwork home so I could review everything, and call with any additional questions. As you wait for your procedure, you'd given another video to watch, and you're offered a complimentary valium if you feel you need it. At no point during the process did something catch me off guard, or anything unexpected happen. Was it weird? Of course! But everything did happen exactly as the videos and paperwork said it would. The actual procedure itself was less than half an hour, and I spend less than a minute (per eye) under each of the two machines used for my procedure. I also liked that just before my procedure, I was asked one final time if I had anymore questions. I followed all the post-op care to the 'T' and I was able to drive myself to the follow up appointment without my glasses the next day. I was told my vision was actually better than 20/20 now, which I'd read was possible. In the following month, I've haven't experienced any side effects that weren't expressly written in my post-op guide (that are expected to go away with time). I'm very satisfied with my experience, and this feels like nothing short of a miracle. I don't even know where I left my old glasses anymore! 10 out of 10, would highly recommend! read more

This is the second time I am having my eyes corrected and am happy to say they are truly standing by their 100 % guarantee. Everyone has been so nice at the office and they do work hard to give you better eye site. My first procedure was amazing. Dr. Thompson is very easy going which when you know they are about to use a laser in your eyes, can help relax you. Dr. Shawsted (probably way off on spelling) is very nice and honest. It is an eye factory to rush people through to make as much money as they can. They WILL NOT take care of you after surgery and after they get your money. I was nearsighted, hated contacts and glasses. Had been putting off getting Lasik for a couple of years, and after my wife went through a procedure here for the PDR treatment (which was the only place that had it WITH good reviews), so I was able to see how smooth the process was altogether. Altogether I don't think it clocked past 4 hours, which I mean EVERYTHING. The initial eye exam to ensure I was a good candidate for begin with, the surgery itself, following up with check ups, and all the wait time and paperwork. The staff is very peppy and friendly, and I personally love the little refreshment section they have to make it feel more relaxing. The procedure itself felt like it was barely 5 minutes. The "worst" part is when pressure is applied when your eyes need to be completely open, and that was just uncomfortable and nothing painful. You can only see blurriness and lights to follow, so there was nothing to freak me out during the procedure. The staff is very good at being encouraging and soothing, it was literally over before I knew it anyways. Absolutely do take a nap afterwards! I was unfortunately woken up abruptly in the middle of my recovery nap, and going back to sleep without numbed eyeballs was probably the worst of it all. Other than that, keeping up with the eye drops during the healing process is cakewalk. I immediately (and literally) saw the results. I even ended up with better than average vision, 20/15! After 9 years of sitting on the fence about Lasik I finally pulled the trigger. I run a construction company and work long hours, my glasses and contacts just weren't cutting it anymore and I decided it was time to just get my eyes fixed. I spoke with multiple places in the valley and went to a consult or two and in the end I decided to go with Lasikplus for a few reasons. One was obviously price-. they were the best deal of the 3 top companies I was looking at and have many options to pay for it. Second was the service and staff- They were by far the best of all the centers I have talked to. Helpful, friendly and willing to walk you through it things. Dr Sally Thompson is amazing and like someone you have known for years. Last was the time frame -They were not pushy and very accommodating to me on when I could do the procedure and do follow up visits. The procedure was a breeze and nothing to be worried about. They explain everything very well and do whatever is needed to make you comfortable. Me being a guy I said I was fine and pulled out the macho hat while I was there. It was great and only took 10 minutes to do it. I spent more time signing things than having the surgery. There was no pain at all. A little discomfort for the first few hours after the surgery but nothing that was unbearable. I just left my first follow-up and my vision is now 20/15. If you are on the fence about doing this or considering your options don't waste your time and just get it done. The sooner the better Life's too short to not have good vision. I just finished my 30 day appointment and I went from -6.5, -7 to 20/10!! I was told it's very rare to get that accurate (especially from a high prescription) so don't expect it but you can party like me if it happens. I looked at several centers from big offices to small. I chose LasikPlus because these guys had the best price (by $200) and I didn't have to sacrifice on doctor experience or laser quality. I was told the surgeon has one of the lowest correction rate (need for a second corrective surgery) of the entire national chain. People come from long distances to see her.It was a good choice. Initial appointments are very thorough, staff was great. Other offices had recommended PRK (to be more conservative) for me but we discussed it with the doctor here and decided on LASIK. The surgeon called me the night before and day after the surgery to answer questions. Surgery only takes a few minutes(literally 15-18) and is uncomfortable but completely endurable. During the procedure, they talked me through everything they were doing and what I should expect to be seeing with each step. Use the stress balls! I sat up from the procedure and I could read the clock across the room. There were some tears of disbelief, gratitude and excitement. Then I went home and took a nice long nap. I could see fairly well that day and artificial eye drops kept everything comfortable. I still see a night vision starbursts around lights. They are moderate to extreme but should improve over the next few months. Honestly, even if I'm stuck with them for life-- it was worth it for me (might not be for everyone and every prescription, but for me the pros outward the cons). read more

On March 29th, my wife went in for the free consult, we spent about 90 minutes doing various tests and talking to the reps as well as seeing the Optometrist, Dr. Shosted. Overall from booking the consult, booking the procedure, talking financing and going over our expectations and answering/asking questions, this was a wonderful experience. The staff was very nice and carried on great conversation, they made us feel as comfortable as possible. My wife had the Lasik procedure done last Friday the 11th. CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH BEHAVIOR AND A WASTE OF MY TIME!!! I work in the medical field as a Physician Assistant in the Emergency Room, and I was appalled to see that this kind of behaviors are being used in a medical profession. I expected it with Optometrics, but was surprised that a surgical center would do it. Shame on you!! My wife has wanted the LASIK procedure for years, but due to pregnancy and nursing was not a candidate. Once that status changed, I was excited to offer the procedure as a Christmas present. I researched the locations that offered the options and selected LasikPlus based on an advertised promotion on their website for "up to $900 off". I also knew that my EyeMed insurance offered 15% off the standard price or an additional 5% off a promotion price. It seemed too good to be true, and it apparently was. They refused to allow the promotion to be used saying it was "only available on the most expensive procedure which we didn't need". They ultimately did offer the additional 5% off, but no promotion would be able to be used, so apparently the "up to $900 off" is not a spectrum but an all or nothing promotion that MOST people will NOT qualify for. This wasn't the most frustrating part of the visit. After watching a promotional video that is meant to answer questions, and touts how perfect the LASIK procedure is for "eyes of all shapes and sizes", we were told by Dr. Shosted that due to the shape of my wife's eye, the simle LASIK procedure that would allow her to only be down for a day and heal very quickly as shown in the video was no longer an option. Instead, she would need a procedure that would require the complete removal of the cornea, and a gradient improvement of vision from 60% to 100% over the course of weeks. Not surprising was the fact that this procedure cost about $550 more PER EYE. And of course no promotions were available on it. When I asked more questions about why THIS procedure had to be done, I was told that I would want the best procedure for my wife's eye and would not want to "cheap out just to save some money". This is frustrating to me, because when my patient's come into the ER, I don't have different services based on their ability to pay. I fix the laceration the way it needs to be done and I do it regardless of the ability to pay. They also explained that the reason why I get different answers about my wife's candidacy for LASIK from different providers is that "every medical professional practices medicine differently." Yeah, I get that...I work in the field. What I don't get is the super convenient manner in which someone can choose to practice medicine in a way that it financially benefits them, regardless of whether the patient needs it or not. Again, SHAME ON YOU GUYS!! The take home message from the visit: 1) LASIK is not as great a procedure as they make it out to be in promotional videos, 2) This facility practices medicine in a way to benefit themselves financially regardless of the needs of the patient and 3) Don't expect stated promotions to be available because these are simply ploys to get you in the door!!! read more

I just got my vision corrected with Lasic plus and i just want to say i love all the staff they are so kind and go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and answer all of your questions. During the Surgery they give you a lion to hold on to which really helps and i also really liked how they talked to me throughout the whole Surgery telling me what there doing... i had a consultation with hoops before i chose Lasic plus and they were not friendly at all and moved you from person to person which is why i chose lasicplus... i really like how they seem to care at lasicplus and you get the same doctors and i really liked how Doctor Thompson called the night of the surgery to make sure i was ok. I went in for my free consultation 2 weeks ago. I was impressed with the time and information that I recieve. Everyone greeted me by name, my questions were answered, and the facility was clean. The day of my procedure same story, everyone was nice, you'll be sore for about 5 days, then you can return to work. After the surgery it was, here are some light pain medicines, and you might be blurry for 2 to 3 weeks. We were a little nervous with the change of time frame, but considered, you have to give worst case scenario. Today I went in for my 5 day check up and to remove the contacts. The "niceness" from everyone was gone. I expressed to the doctor that my vision was worse today than it had been since the surgery and that the pain was bad at night. He basically said tuff, use the eye drops more, and we week see you in 2 weeks. I couldn't even make out the second row of letters in the vision test. I asked if i was even legal to be driving, "you should use your judgement" was the answer. No more politeness, just come back for your visits or your warrenty is void. read more

This was one of my best experiences. So glad I did it. No pressure experience. I have dry eyes which I wasn't aware of before my first exam. I had to do some things to help resolve my dry eyes before doing lasik. They end up retesting me twice more. They did this without any guarantee that I was going to get the lasik done. I loved the no pressure atmosphere. They thought moe more about my eyes and I learned more about an issues I have had with my eyes all my life. If I could give negative stars I would. I have never been treated so poorly by a medical office in my entire life. To start out they said "You need Lasik" then called me 2 days later and said "we had a cancellation come in today!" fortunately I couldn't that day so kept my original procedure day. On my pre op they say "Oh, you need PRK" All i could think was "well thank god I didn't go in on the day they called me in!" So I show up for my appointment on surgery day and they go through their typical steps then come to me and say "Our machine is broken, should work in about an hour...." so we wait an additional 2 hours from time of appt start only to have them pull me aside and say "we can't get the machine to work, so you will have to reschedule OR pay $600 more to use this other machine." After scheduling the whole weekend off and work off and all the other things I needed to do prior to surgery (Including buying the $200 eye drops) I was at my whits end. If they were a decent practice they would have used the other machine and not tried to nickel and dime me for THEIR screw up. The best part was the nurse saying "this doesn't happen a lot" then contradicting herself 10 minutes later saying "this is quite common in all practices." I highly UNRECOMMEND this place. Don't even consult with them and def don't do the life time warranty with them because chances are with service like this they will not be open next year. So disappointed. I went in for an evaluation, took a day off of work and was told i was a great cantidate for the procedure. They quickly wanted me to do the procedure and i agreed the following Friday (roughly less then a week from my evaluation). Took the time off of work, then i had some questions for the Dr. prior to the surgery. I was told she would call me. She never did, so i continued to call. The called me back saying that she is unavailable and i would have to talk to her before the surgery. I told them i wouldn't be having the surgery and would have to cancel unless i got my questions answered because i had some concerns. Finally... she called me with a dismissing attitude and before i was able to ask any questions she said "I was not a canditate for the surgery". Gave me a very vauge answer on why i wasn't. Didn't care much about me being approved already by her expert staff.... just not a canidiate. I think this place is a joke, not only did i waste my time but the Dr obviously doesn't care about her customers time or concerns. I originally went to this Dr for her credentials, i think it has gone to her head. I have since went to another Lasik Center and had it completed with excellent results. read more
