I told the doctor at UEC that I have had adverse reactions to a medication. He stated, his procedure is text book, implying the other doctor I had gone to for years in Provo did not use text book procedures. Since the injection I have been off work for over three weeks and was referred to a corneal specialist at UEC. When my daughter went with me to a follow up appointment, before being referred to the corneal specialist, the initial doctor, that injected the medication, said, "I have never seen a reaction this bad." I told him, "Maybe not all patients are text book." Yesterday the corneal specialist removed a protective contact lens that had partially adhered to my eye with forceps. It hurt. I didn't over react, just said ouch twice. The doctor said, "I put a numbing drop in your eye, so" So, what? I imagined the pain? A new lens was put in place and I was told to come back in two weeks. So far I have had seven visits because of this incident. I will finish the follow up treatment elsewhere. There is a culture of arrogance and lack of respect that starts at the top and goes down to the staff, at least at the Bountiful location. The staff at the Ogden location is great. If you miss a doctor's appointment or are late, most doctor's will drop you as a patient, but in return most doctor's offices are also respectful of the patient's time. UEC clinics are poorly managed. Plan on waiting along time and getting a dose of eye rolling and attitude. That might be tolerable if the care was excellent, even good. These are your EYES! The take away here, "You know yourself better than anyone, don't hesitate to walk, sooner rather than later. Your health and welfare depends on advocating for yourself." Doctors and human and sometimes they are arrogant too!

I ended up seeing Dr. Bullard and all these years later I am STILL devastated about what happened. I know it's been 3 years but I feel like I need to speak up. So I want to start off by saying I have surfers eye and at the time I went in to see Dr. Bullard I was squinting a lot and having a hard time seeing lights when I drove at night. I was constantly getting headaches because I couldn't see words far away and had to squint and I assumed it was connected to the surfers eye. So I saw Dr. Bullard in October 2021. I had just lost my job due to the pandemic and I was about to lose my vision insurance. I made sure Dr. Bullard knew this and knew that if I needed surgery or glasses I needed them in the next 2 months before I lost my insurance. This was it, I didn't know when I would have vision insurance again and so I needed help right then and there. He examined my eyes with a little lens and said they looked fine to him and that at this stage we couldn't do anything about my surfers eye so I should be on my way. I told him that I felt like I needed an eye exam because the lights were hurting my eyes and I was squinting. He straight up wouldn't give me one. He kept asking if things were blurry. I told him they weren't necessarily blurry, but I was having a hard time seeing details and the light really hurt my eyes. After going back and forth like this for about 5 minutes he just refused to give me a vision exam, even though he knew I was about to lose insurance. Fast forward to now. I still don't have vision insurance and going to the eye doctor is very expensive. But after having lights hurt my eyes all of these years I finally decided to see the Costco eye doctor this past week. Turns out I have an astigmatism of -3 in both eyes. You read that right, and I've probably had it for YEARS. It's probably gotten worse over the past year or so, but had Dr. Bullard just given me a regular vision exam like I was asking him to we would have caught this YEARS ago. So I spent $350 on the eye doctor and getting my first pair of prescription glasses. And now I just spent another $200 on prescription sunglasses. All this time I couldn't see and I had no idea. When I told this to the doctor at Costco this past week she said that I needed to speak up and tell Utah Eye Centers because any competent Doctor would have known that it's not normal to have to squint to see everything. She told me that the secretary already suspected I had an astigmatism just based on my symptoms, and here was a qualified doctor who went to medical school who wouldn't even give me a basic eye exam because things were't "blurry". I really hope someone at Utah Eye Centers reads this and has a sit down with Dr. Bullard. When I put on my glasses and could see I couldn't help but cry because I hadn't realized everything I was missing out on. Dr. Bullard should have diagnosed me years ago, but instead he refused because I was his last appointment of the day and he wanted to get home. Dr. Bullard, please feel free to send an apology card or a check in the mail. Heavens knows I would have been able to see years ago had you done your job like any responsible Dr. would have.

Eyeglass World worked to correct any issues, were patient when I got a new prescription from my doctor, and offered advice to correct my struggle. I also did not feel like I was the problem when my lenses didn't work. The lenses were a problem, and they did not stop offering advice or potential solutions until they fixed it! Other eyeglass stores I have visited did not work with me very much or at all. I definitely recommend Eyeglass World and will visit them again should the need arise.

If I schedule an appointment for 3pm, why do I need to wait until 3:20 to see anyone? I don't understand why this is the standard in so many medical offices, and it makes me want to show up 15 minutes late for my appointment, except that would be very rude. So why is it not rude when they do it without any explanation, apology, or even acknowledgement? The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 3 is because I think you can expect a wait in most medical offices you attend, despite how frustrating it is. And because the experience was otherwise pleasant.

I had mentioned a couple concerns to his assistant but he didn't help me with any of them apart to recommend a quick procedure that I think he did more for his $$ than my benefit. After the eye exam I was told I needed glasses. I suspected that would be the case prior to the appointment but I also went there for the two pairs of eye glasses with the exam for $69.99 or $89.99. I was told I needed bifocals or progressive glasses. My distance vision seems to be right on the money. Next I was told that my prescription would not be part of the two for $69.99 or $89.99 (I can't remember the exact price) Since I feel that my distance vision was fine I asked to have glasses to help me read and that would be part of the advertised sale. I was told the two,pairs of glasses would be ready in about two weeks. When the glasses arrived they handed them to me over the counter. When I got home I tried them on while reading and they made no difference at all. I was unable to return to the store and eventually gave up on glasses. Fast Forward - change of employment required to read the computer screen so I decided to try again. The same Dr. was there and the process started all over again. I did bring the glasses from 4yrs ago and they told me they were not for reading. After paying for another eye exam the staff suggested I get progressive and transition glasses, the one pair of glasses were about $650 after discounts. The glasses did arrive before I started my new job. This time the staff made sure they fit properly and made some frame adjustments and had me read a small font. Since I've never worn glasses before it took me about a week to get used to them. A week later I returned again and asked for a pair of reading glasses and in an effort to save money I asked them to reuse the frames from 4yrs ago. When those glasses showed up I just took them over the counter and left the store. When I got home history was repeating itself. The reading glasses were useless. This time I did not wait 4yrs, upon returning to the store the admitted they made a mistake and put the distance prescription in the frames. (The same ones from 4yrs ago) Hmmmm. They did fix it.

My husband bought our 18-year-old frames from here and they're awful. I think we were given a…read moredefective pair because they broke within the first 3 months and continue to break. He's not rough with them. He literally turned his head to the left and the frame cracked and the lens popped out. If you don't purchase the warranty, Standard Optical won't help, even if the frames are defective. For now, we keep using the plastic welder. Once it's been a year, we're going to the vision center in Walmart even though they don't accept our insurance. We've had a fantastic experience with them in the past.

The place was beautiful and clean and the Doctor and staff were very kind and helpful. I needed a small lens adjustment on the driving glasses and they were very nice and professional about a re-examination and getting me the right lens. I'm super happy with the driving glasses now. Don't take your baby to this ER. We had no other option on NYE, took our baby here because she was…read morestruggling to breathe. The doctor informed us she just had mucus and needed nasal suction. They performed a nasal suction by putting a tube up our 8 month old's nose down her throat and completely traumatized her (though we thought this was the right procedure at the time.) We were sent home being informed she simply had a head cold virus. The following day and night her symptoms only got worse, we took her to a different instacare where she received 3 epinephrine treatments and we were taken in an ambulance to Primary Children's where our baby was hospitalized overnight for croup. This all could have been prevented had she had been properly diagnosed the night prior. The reason for this review: we attempted to dispute the bill due to misdiagnosis and were denied because this hospital provided "proper treatment." Had we had listened to the doctor's advice who provided care, our baby would have stopped breathing the night following. Do better, Lakeview Hospital.

My mother was recently admired for being a threat to herself and others during a manic episode. Talked to the social worker there about her care and they said that they advised if she was still showing signs of mania to go to the nearest hospital. The thing is, we already did that and then she was admitted to THIS hospital where they absolutely did not provide her with any actual care. It felt like I had one impossible chance of her finally getting help and then no one did anything to help her or my family. I am heart broken and hope that no one suffers the same way as me or my family because of the lack of care put in by the providers here. Shame on them
