I received a call the next day. They made contact with their distributor and they have a gun metal grey "sample" that they can use to replace my frames and have offered to remake the lenses and exchange my glasses for free. Turns out the lenses were under warranty because I had reused the frames from a prior pair of glasses. The frames have been discontinued. It will be a couple weeks to get the replacements and they are letting me keep the current ones while I wait. Much better customer service. I've updated to 3 stars from 1 star because they are trying to make things right. Not possible to completely recover from the original poor interactions but I have to give them credit for doing what they can. I'll update again when the glasses arrive and I exchange them. Could go up or down 1 star based on the final result. read more

Zero Stars - Absolutely Terrible Experience If I could give Mountain View Eye Center at Holy Cross zero stars, I would. This was one of the worst experiences l've ever had at any medical office. I arrived 10 minutes early to my scheduled appointment, to fill out paperwork. To my surprise, there was no receptionist at the desk, so I stood there waiting the entire 10 minutes, which completely defeats the purpose of coming early. Yes, they were able to fit me in due to a cancellation (which I appreciate), but it took me less than 10 minutes to complete the paperwork. I was told that I was checked in, Despite that, I ended up waiting over an hour past my scheduled time (1:20 pm) with Jepsen, Nolan L. - and still wasn't even seated. To make matters worse, people who arrived after me were being seen before me. It was clear my appointment and time weren't being respected. I've been to many eye centers before, and this was by far the worst. Unfortunately, I had to leave my previous eye doctor because of a change in vision insurance, and Mountain View was recommended to me. I seriously regret taking that advice. In the end, I walked out. This place is completely unorganized and unprofessional. I won't be returning, and I won't be recommending it to anyone. Now they want to charge me $50 dollars for missing my scheduled appointment, but seriously you guys waiting past an hour for a scheduled time isn't does not make it a scheduled appointment. read more

Dr. Peterson and his staff are incredible. We had an amazing experience. My wife was having some eye issues and he got us in super quick. The wait wasn't long at all. Dr. Peterson was very kind and caring. He listened to our needs and made sure he addressed them. We have referred many people to him and they have all had wonderful experiences. The staff is helpful and also very thoughtful. They do a great job. We highly recommend their office. read more

After an accident sent my elderly mother to the emergency room, she was referred to Dr. Jared Peterson. At our brief appointment with Dr. Peterson, it was clear that he is not only a competent ophthalmologist, but also a sincere being. This office scheduled my mother for an appointment at 3:40 PM but she was not seen until just before 5 PM. There was never any advisement from staff that her appointment would leave her waiting this long. As I share these frustrations with Dr. Peterson, he mentioned that he had instructed the scheduling/front desk staff to ask such urgent, referral, patients to come in at the very end of his day so that they can avoid this very kind of wait... However, the gossip gals at the front desk seem to have a less considerate idea of how scheduling should work. At Dr. Peterson's request, I tried to mention this frustration to the front desk staff on our way out, who turned their back and walked away from me. I pointed out how disrespectful this behavior and response was to then hear several of these gossip gals mumble under their breath. It's a shame when awesome clinicians work in a facility where the first point of contact is inconsiderate, unprofessional, and completely without regard for others. read more

I've recently moved out of state but miss going here for my yearly eye exam that started 10+ years ago! The doctors and the entire staff are excellent and professional. The exams were always done thoroughly and all of my questions and concerns (big and small) answered. For the last few years I've seen Dr. Jepsen who is very knowledgeable in contact lenses. I've even had to call him one night with an emergency (I burnt my eye with the wrong solution) and he came to the rescue. Because I travel and move around a lot, I always like to keep a copy of my prescriptions on me in case of emergency. They've never gave me a hard time like I've heard other offices do. I've also seen Dr. Treft regarding lasik surgery, again, very knowledgeable and experienced. So far I have not been able to find services that equal what I received here. As good as the eye doctors are at Mountain View, I would rate the opticians as a D- to F. I chose them because they accepted medicare. First mistake. They remade my eyeglasses 3 times, the last time I complained to my eye doctor got involved. I had these glasses a little over 1 year and I had a reexamination last September. My eyes changed a bit but the progressive bifocals were never right on my old pair. I was sick and tired of going back. I just ordered new glasses from Walmart Vision. I told them about the progressive bifocals and they checked my old pair. Well the left lens was crooked, on a slant. The opticians never checked the glasses when they came in or the they did and didn't care. The optical staff at MVEC are cold and rude, I will leave it at that. A word to the wise " stay away from this Optical Store" Once again the doctors are first rate. I hope people read this review and save yourselves grief . GK read more

I want to give a huge "thank you" to Mountain View eye Center and specifically, Dr. Robert Treft. At age 55, I had glaucoma, cataracts and was always far-sighted and had astigmatism on top of that. After consulting with Dr. Treft, I went ahead and scheduled artificial lenses for both eyes. The results are that I now enjoy my best vision ever and no longer need eyeglasses or contact lenses. This is day and night vision; I no longer have a restricted driver license either. My treatment, before during and after with following up and the four medication eyedrops, to say nothing of the outcome, has been second to none! You really ought to give Dr. Treft the opportunity to examine you and discuss your needs-he will tell you in straight talk what you need and also what you do not. Everyone at Mountain View was above board, from scheduling/billing/insurance, to exam prep and the various technicians who administered the tests the Doctor ordered. BTW I had the actual surgeries performed at Davis Surgical Center. I have been there for other surgeries as well and that is an outstanding outpatient facility from front to back. Ask your doctor if they will have your operation there and you will not be disappointed! So if I was not clear, Dr. Treft and Mountain view Eye Center is highly recommended.
