Oh sure, I get the need for a Oakley Vault and a Sunglass Hut in Park City, but in penny-pinching Provo? Sun Stop Sunglasses--a high-end sunglasses mini-chain with locations at the Shops at South Town, Newgate (Ogden), and Red Cliffs (St. George)--has a little shop tucked away between a Tricked Out Accessories and Fred Meyer Jewelers. It was a little off-putting going in as I was the only one in there! With these prices, which I saw at the low end $50 (Suncloud) and at the high end $450 (Maui Jim, Oakley), with most in that $119-149 range. I just don't get it. They look cool, fit well, and really give you a dynamic, clear field of vision. For me, they're just not $150 cool. Still, the great brands are there, such as Ray-Ban, Smith, Spy, and Zeal. They also can adjust them them for your prescription. And of course, the very lonely Sun Stop employee is more than willing to help in finding the perfect pair.

They didn't have what I wanted (not their fault. Oakley supply from what I gathered) but found another pair I loved equally, if not more. I was reluctant to buy them because I'm really picky when it comes to how my sunglasses fit under my hats. They had a new hat in the back they let me borrow and I was sold. Their customer service was spectacular. They listened to what we were saying and we're super friendly. We'll be back for sure for their bounce back in January. They have a huge selection! They must work on 100% commissions because the store manager Katie became a monster as soon as I mentioned I had a return. She claims one of the lenses is scratched so she won't give me a refund and I insisted there's no way as he only wore them once and then they went straight back in the case. After a couple minutes of back and forth I asked for her corporate office's phone # and she told me she "won't give it to me, I can google it myself". I became a little more testy after this response and kept insisting for a phone #, I'm the customer, it's not my position to be trying to find a # she should have easy access to. Then she pulls out her phone, attempts to google the corporate office phone # then says she can't find it. So I reply with how she expects me to find it if she works there and can't find it? Then she called her supervisor and says they can offer us 50% of what we paid for them. Not satisfied with wasting 50% of my money on a product I've had for a week, I start asking for the phone # again and then she replies with "do I need to call security on you?" Umm, no you need to give me the phone # I have been politely asking for for the last 10 minutes. This whole conversation could have been over if she had given my the phone #. The last 2 times we've bought sunglasses from this company have been a complete NIGHTMARE! Never again will we buy from here and I seriously hope they improve their customer service. I did not raise my voice at her, did not use any inappropriate language towards her, I felt I was very polite, firm but polite. And I felt she was completely unprofessional and didn't care about us as a customer at all. END RANT.
