Don't take your baby to this ER. We had no other option on NYE, took our baby here because she was struggling to breathe. The doctor informed us she just had mucus and needed nasal suction. They performed a nasal suction by putting a tube up our 8 month old's nose down her throat and completely traumatized her (though we thought this was the right procedure at the time.) We were sent home being informed she simply had a head cold virus. The following day and night her symptoms only got worse, we took her to a different instacare where she received 3 epinephrine treatments and we were taken in an ambulance to Primary Children's where our baby was hospitalized overnight for croup. This all could have been prevented had she had been properly diagnosed the night prior. The reason for this review: we attempted to dispute the bill due to misdiagnosis and were denied because this hospital provided "proper treatment." Had we had listened to the doctor's advice who provided care, our baby would have stopped breathing the night following. Do better, Lakeview Hospital. read more

My mother was recently admired for being a threat to herself and others during a manic episode. Was not even held the legal length of 72 hour evaluation and was released still fully in a manic episode. Talked to the social worker there about her care and they said that they advised if she was still showing signs of mania to go to the nearest hospital. The thing is, we already did that and then she was admitted to THIS hospital where they absolutely did not provide her with any actual care. It felt like I had one impossible chance of her finally getting help and then no one did anything to help her or my family. I am heart broken and hope that no one suffers the same way as me or my family because of the lack of care put in by the providers here. Shame on them read more

From ER UCI Lakeview today June 10 2025 My recent experience at the ER in UCI Lakeview left frustration. I visited the facility due to suspicions of broken ribs, which is undeniably a painful and concerning condition. I came in 11:00 am; it was not that busy, I was checked in and Rx done in one hour. However, after that first step, nothing happened. from 11:45 am to 4:30 I have been waiting for someone to call me for the result of the RXs for treatment; no one took care of me; I had the feeling I was not legitime for emergency! I head lot of names called sometime twice but never my name. Clear updates about the process or estimated timelines could have vastly improved the experience. From 2:30, I started to feel upset ; I knock on the door, I was told your name will be called when time comes. for the story: I fell on Saturday June 6th; I waited up today to go to ER because pain increased and I needed RXs ; my husband is handicapped, and I can't leave him too long ; Time for the call never came ; it was 4:30 I could not stay any longer I left signing off without having any medical diagnostic. An Emergency Room, without a doctor on site or to be contacted to diagnose from an Xray taken in this same Emergency site! I left ER; as I entered, with the pain; the stress and the worry for my husband left alone and no diagnostic. I will be charged $240 or more for Emergency Care !!! Emergency rooms are, by nature, busy and high-pressure environments, but it is imperative to balance that with empathy and efficiency. Unfortunately, those elements seemed to be missing during my visit to UCI Lakeview. I hope this feedback serves as a call for improvement in providing timely and compassionate care to patients. read more

We were at Lakeview emergency in Bountiful Sunday afternoon with a friend. Hoping for a positive outcome for her we were extremely disappointed in the person who was in charge of getting her on the bed and assessing her. She was in a lot of pain and quite incoherent. He was very abrupt and uncaring toward her. He was impatient and told her how difficult she was. I told him he had probably had difficult patients before. Not many people are feeling their best when they go to the ER. I said to him that he could be more caring and patient with her which met on deft ears. Later when she had been writhing in pain she pulled out her IV. They seemed very annoyed with her. I was pleased with the doctor who treated her and listened with interest. I feel sorry for him that he must work with those who are lacking compassion. That's not to say there were those who were kind and helpful. But I had to call for help for they did not come to check on her. I don't know what would have been the outcome if we had not been there to be her advocate. I am a transplant recipient (think immunosuppressants) and I am older. ER visit for ongoing chronic diarrhea. The F-tard, PA Kyle flat refused to help me. Saying I need a rehab center rather than a hospital stay. Then he returned to my room and said my insurance doesn't cover that. Thanks SO MUCH KYLE! YOU need to get out of medicine. Take an effing accounting job where you work exclusively with computers. Bedside manner is NOT your forte, dude. I was just diagnosed with Norovirus by the UofU. How is this place still open? Years of the poorest care ever! With any locals & my own experiences let this warn all! If taken in an emergency one does not have much choice but I'd rather die in an ambulance. My aunt died here with heart failure, a friend died in the emergency room and my daughter (Z) barely lived for me to write this. In 2023 my daughter Z, had to have two surgeries because of LAKEVIEW NEGLIGENCE - Bckup: In fall 2022 ran Z into E.R with severe pain. They found a large kidney stone and Dr. Nicole Lenhiers was so amazing that when this condition unexpectedly happened again in 2023 this is where we ran in emergency. However, Dr. Lenhiers was not there and we would never see her again. This time staff was very slow and treated Z with disregard. Over an hour in severe pain before she was given pain meds. Then they took her to imaging stating, "another Larger kidney stone developed" (it was the same one! Gaining momentum) had they paid attention they would have noticed it was the same spot! They sent Z home with Ibuprofen instead-smh- Kidney stones are the worst! But hey,,, avoid addictions!! omg! Z lived on Ibuprofen as this stone ripped through for weeks. A couple months later (3rd time) Z fainted in pain. This time Lakeview treated Both of us rudely! I needed help to the door from the car with her & the assistant told Z to wake up and walk! He was almost abusive. In the ER bed Z screamed in pain! No one did a thing. There were 3 nurses texting on their cell phones at the nurses station, there were two medics of sorts visiting down the hall, one patient in the whole ER sleeping, and a nurse told me they needed to "find" a doctor. My daughter screamed in pain for over an hour! Still nothing. . Later they found the very large (razor sharp) stone had been lodged and growing to a point of surgery~ YET, Before any pain meds (god forbid) Someone from imaging came in with a wheel chair and told her to get up and sit down (was there no available Gurney?) she stated this was easier- smh! Only after seeing this was by now a very large kidney stone which needed surgery did they help Z with any rest, or pain (over an hour crying in severe pain & cold sweats) The nurse who came in to talk to me about results literally lied/ denied we ever saw Dr. Nicole Lenhiers (like I would make that up ?) He denied we were sent home with pain meds and lied of the proper treatment we may have received months prior. I seriously wonder if the prior visit was properly documented. The Arrogant PA who came in to release Z, was rude and treated us with disrespect even though Z needed surgery by that point. NO sympathy, NO apology, NO concern! We left Lakeview that night and I will Never go back!! The doctors at IMC Layton UT could not believe the damage done to Z emotionally, with Ibuprofen, & lingering kidney stones obviously unable to pass due to a deformed urethra. The time off work, the emotional damages, and financial stress could have been avoided. My daughter had to have this surgically removed and later surgery for repairs. The disregard and negligence of Lakeview is not worth the risk!!! My grandpa went there after he fell, they said he only broke his upper arm. He later went to the University Hospital and they said he broke his back, arm, and leg in two places. When he was released he was also incredibly unresponsive, no one came to help so he sat outside in the 90 degree weather without getting any transportation options! It's insane the condition he was in when they let him out, and everything they missed. Don't recommend. read more

I went in with chest pain and was promptly admitted, that's where the good part of this review ends. For background, I am a female in my 20s who has a serious autoimmune disorder (lupus) and has recently had pulmonary embolisms caused by my lupus. I got laughed at by a nurse because the regular gown was too small and the other gown they gave me had me drowning in it. I'm a 5'10 female that's 180lbs so gowns can be tricky for me but laughing after I said the first one was too small was totally unacceptable. Next my doctor came in and kept almost mockingly repeating what I was saying back to me and condescendingly asking me questions that made me feel like I shouldn't even be in the emergency room. He asked about medication and told me he'd come back to get it after I got the records off my chart from the U of U and he never did. I made it clear I had been diagnosed with pulmonary embolisms and he didn't even ask if I was on a blood thinner. I'm not only on warfarin which is a dangerous medication to be on and can have serious interactions, but I'm also on methotrexate. They ran one test which was an CT scan and during this, the plastic part of my IV burst sending liquid flying everywhere and leaving my arm burning. The tech working was awesome and got my IV set up again and apologized profusely, but how is this not a dangerous level of negligence? I've heard horror stories of air getting into IVs in similar ways. The machine ended up still having too much pressure and it felt like bubbles were going into my arm to finish this test. I overall was here for three hours and discharged after being told I was fine. To top it all off, the nurse who took out my IV didn't have the common sense to dispose of the IV line and LEFT IT IN MY BED! I took a photo and I've attached it as I was horrified. I went to another hospital shortly after where I was diagnosed with angina and coronary day artery spasms. Never been more disappointed and would never come back to this hospital again even if it was my only choice and I was dying. read more

Went in for abdominal pain and was less critical than other patients. Others came in with more severe symptoms and were told they would wait an hour and a half for help. When seen by the PA-C he did not seem concerned with symptoms and then proceeded to tell me that there were no beds in the hospital and that The ER is hard to get admitted from unless you are dying. He also mentioned that this is just how the USA medical system worked. The PA-C had little compassion and poor bedside manner for clients/family. The nurse was the one who showed compassion and listened to myself when telling her what was happening and in the past what the hospital had been able to do for symptom relief. read more

I was in excruciating pain. long story short, the dr accused me of just wanting pain pills!! I was crying so hard from pain!!! Dr White looked at where my oral surgery was done. he said a cracked tooth next to surgery shouldn't hurt. because his dad was an orthodontist, and he helped his dad a lot. he looked in my mouth and said I'm there for pain pills!! Ummm he is not an oral surgeon. HE said I'm not in pain. I pointed to the pain chart, and he said that is what caused the opiate epidemic! Dr white said to stop taking meds my regular Drs had me on. I just came from the ER because I have had the worst pain in my life. Dr. White was conceited and very judgemental. He had the nerve to say I shouldn't be in pain for my condition. I have never had a dr or nurse say anything so horrible like that before. I have been crying in agony for 2 days and nights. Dr White told me not to take my prescribed medicine my Dr prescribed. he said life is hard, when I explained my PTSD. He told me he thought I just wanted pain pills. I have never felt so humiliated. He was demeaning, cold, and conceited. Dr White had no concern for my welfare. He even said how can 2 Drs of mine both be out of town the very same weekend . Not intelligent at all. Sounds like a recurring problem. Medical care was great billing was the worst that I have experienced. We paid up front at the time that the procedure was performed, with the promise that a credit would be given. I have followed up with the billing department several times as they keep calling asking for more money and now they have turned me over to collections. Impossible to get ahold of a live person at the hospital. The call keeps going to the billing department which is part of the collection agency that I have been referred to. They can't find our payment hsitory and won't let us talk to the hospital. Never again will we consider going to Lakeview hospital. read more

Hospitals of all shapes and sizes are places of healing, rest, and recovery. It is thereby a gross oxymoron to call Lakeview a hospital. I realize that there are off days and that things happen. But to have the good care be the exception is a problem. Now for story time. A family member of mine went in for emergency care and was admitted to this facility recently. Tests were performed and a few good nurses gave care. Them the fun began. My family member had limited use of the right side of their body and thereby unable to walk. Needing a shower the aid just brought and dropped off a couple towels with hardly a word, afterward relating that because there was family present that they would assist. Never assume in patient care! It came into question what insurance would cover and respect dropped. An ice queen of a case worker (really?!) left them in tears after delivering that they're insurance wouldn't cover rehab and that they were essentially screwed. No sympathy or alternatives given, just your screwed. They requested information be related to their PCP and this was completely disregarded. Maybe you get better care if you pay cash up front. In the end we removed them from the facility (hospital in name only) with some practitioners saying please stay and others (like ice queen) saying don't let the door hit you where the Lord split you. I would recommend to only be taken here if you have the money to keep them on your side. read more

I remember all of it, except when I was a sleep ha! ER Billing staff can't do it accurately??!! I keep receiving notice of "Emergency Physician Statement", demanding me to pay a significant balance with no itemized/detail charges, along with harassing language claiming it is past due. I made several phone calls clarifying with rather inefficient billing staff about where to send the bill, how to correctly spell my name, phone/address of the insurance, etc. I made extra effort and communicated this directly with David S. (supposedly an office manager in Salt Lake on Sep 27, 2022). I further made effort and had my insurance carrier representative to contact the billing staff AND David S. to accurately submit bills. Yet, there has been no success after more than 7 months and the harassment from the billing keep coming. I must stress that all related bills of other providers regarding this date of service have been long processed and paid. It is hard for me to comprehend how your billing staff can be so inept to accurately submit these claims with my insurance! I hereby am submitting this official complaint on the advice of my legal counsel. Should the negligence and harassment continue, I will be seeking legal action! read more

I've had stomach issues for most of my life and as of recently it's been getting worse. Last night I went into the ER because I've felt nauseous, was vomiting, couldn't hold any sorts of food or liquid down, and was having chest and abdominal pain with a history of h-pylori. I was in total discomfort until they came in and gave me my IV, some nausea and pain medication. I was able to get some sleep until I had to do a CAT scan. When I returned from the CAT scan, I started to feel nauseous again and I think it was due to the contrast but I wanted to wait a bit to see if it'll go away on its own. After about an hour, the nausea hadn't subsided and my abdominal and chest pain were starting to come back. I expressed this to the nurse and she said that she would let the doctor know. Another hour passes and I still haven't heard anything. So I called for the nurse again to express how I was feeling, and she replied with the same thing (mind you, I was also done with my IV bag before I went into my CAT scan and I haven't been able to hold down any food or liquids almost 15 hours before going to the ER). I fell asleep due to exhaustion but was woken up from the doctor that they couldn't find anything and is going to prescribe some nausea medication then leaves. Another hour passes and I'm confused because I'm now feeling the same way when I got in to the ER but they're saying I'm good to be discharged. I called for the nurse again and she's ready to hand me my discharge papers even though I felt like crap still. My sister being my advocate asked for some nausea and pain medication to hold me over until the pharmacy opens considering my pain and nausea levels were the same as previous-I was being discharged around 6am but the pharmacy doesn't open until 9am. The service and experience here altogether was just awful and I wish that no one else has to go through this. read more

If I could separate the actual doctor and nurses from the payment department I would.  We thought we paid our ER Bill in full(set up a payment plan) then we received another separate $250 bill for the provider. The fact that they split one visit into 2 bills is ridiculous.  Regardless, we received 1 paper bill in the mail.  Unfortunately it got misplaced and my husband suffers from severe ADHD and it was forgotten about.  We take full responsibility for that. And we would have paid the bill when we received a reminder notice. But we never received another bill or notice from Lakeview, which we realize is just a courtesy.  However, we were not informed it went to collections.  We didn't even know that it was sent to collections until we received a summons from Mountain Land Collection Agency(horribly dishonest and shady company) that we were being sued for over $800! What's so frustrating about this is that Lakeview Hospital isn't following the law.  As of May 1st 2017, Medical practices in Utah must adhere to the new Healthcare Debt Collections Amendment (HB128), requiring healthcare providers not to send any unpaid patient bills to collections or report them to a credit bureau without following a new notification requirement. We were NEVER informed that our bill was being sent to collections. We would have been prepared to pay the original bill if we were informed, but because we were not,  Lakeview sold our debt(not even for the full amount) to an awful company like Mountain Land Debt Collection.  I will NEVER use a Lakeview Hospital ever again.  I will drive out of my way to go somewhere else and tell everyone I know not to go there.  Specifically for how they deal with payments. And specifically because, over a $250 bill, we are being sued for over $800, and there is nothing we can do about it. read more

We had an outpt CT and they were fast and professional and kind but the price difference was crazy. After I called billing they did give us a small discount. But the price discrepancies are outrageous. We should have price checked first, I would encourage you to price check. Wow just wow! First off I want to say the nurses we great!! I appreciate them all. Now on to the issue. I went in because I had sever abdominal pain. I was pooping blood and throwing up. Possibly from Covid. Still don't know. There was no one in the waiting room and I was crying. Did they take me back nope. Not until someone said something did they. This was 8 am on Sunday. No one was there!!! I took a Covid test and had a slight faint line for it being positive. Wouldn't you think they would check that first?? Nope. Not al all. Didn't even test me. They gave me some anxiety meds and Pepcid for heart burn. Ha ha ha. Nothing for pain!! Nothing!! The dr asked me if I was vaccinated. I said no. He then clicked his tongue a few times and said well that's a shame. Then went to ask what I was taking. I told him I only too aspirin and some thc drops for pain. Ohhhhhh what an absolutely terrible idea. Please please don't be honest with these drs. They will shame you and punish you for something they don't believe in. I felt so horrible after he left. Well the conclusion was he had no freaking clue what was wrong. He said if the pain continues come back in. I WAS STILL IN PAIN!! And bleeding. He said to go see a GI doc. What a waste of my time. I have yet to receive the bill. According to all the other reviews I'm screwed. Please find any other hospital to go to. Please!! This one needs to be shut down. Revamped and restaffed. SPECIFICALLY FOR DESIREE HAMMER, DR NELSON'S PA Desiree is that rare combination of extremely knowledgable, and has more compassion for people than anyone I've met in the medical profession. Des is who I see monthly, unless there's a problem. She not only manages my pain meds, she also manages several others too. She takes the time to understand my mental situation in addition to my physical ailments. I may have to move to Provo-but I'll gladly make the drive up to see her. Unless you just want to go to the ER for fun and not real quality care, avoid this place. From the moment I walked in I was so disappointed. The triage nurse was short with me, sarcastic and flippant. My actual nurse, who I only saw once, didn't seem to communicate with the LPN in charge of my care. Once the diagnosis, AFTER NO PHYSICAL EXAM, was given, and I got teary eyes he says "oh come on, it could be so much worse". They are lazy, cold and just not invested in their work. The staff in the delivery room let my daughters baby fall out of my daughter and hit her head on the floor and snap the umbilical chord. No nurse caught the baby. The baby got a fractured skull and bleeding under the skin of her head. Two nights stay in the NICU ensued. read more

I would give this hospital ER a 0 star if I could. I was taken by ambulance to this hospital therefore it was not my choice to go here. I came in with a sever allergic reaction. But since I had just had surgery 5 days prior they wanted to rule out blood clot. I was given a CT scan with dye and had no blood clot. Before the scan I was rolled on my left shoulder which I just had surgery on I told them not to roll me on my left side because of my shoulder they did anyways. I told them not to roll me on my left shoulder when I was done and they still did. I was in and out of consciousness and I was numb from head to toe. After getting a negative result for blood clot. I tried to tell both the Dr and nurse that I was having an allergic reaction not sure why from but either pain meds or something I got while in surgery and yes I had a delayed response to stuff before. I was told I was having a anxiety attack and was prescribe Ativan. I refused to take the Ativan and told them I m having an allergic reaction to something but not for positive what. They refused to listen. I asked both the Dr and nurse at least 3 times each why are you not listening to me. I refused to take the Ativan. I was having a hard time staying conscious and I was numb from head to toe. And I was also having breathing problems and I could not urinate even though I need to. The dr released me from the er with being numb and not being able to urinate on my own I could not stand up. My husband asked to talk to dr. The dr. Came in and I yelled at him and him and asked why he refused to listen and or hear me I know my body better then you and I am telling you that I am having an allergic reaction. I said why don't you give my damn Benadryl and treat me with kindness and actually listen to what I am telling you. Also amongst all of this I had a Catheter placed to help relieve some of the pain. I had told them many times be careful with my shoulder and arm. I told them I could not lay flat on my back and they laid me flat anyways. They had taken my nurses button rather on purpose or accident and had not given it back. After they did the Catheter they left me in my back with no nurse button and left. I screamed and yelled for help for a while finally someone came in and it happened to be my husband. I said please help me I can't move and I am in sever pain. He asked what the hell I said I can't call for help I have no nurse button it was on the wall behind me where I could not reach it. This hospital Dr. And nurse did not treat me like a human being and tried to kill me and hurt my shoulder many times. They would not listen or hear what I was telling them and they abused my in many ways both physically and mentally and emotionally. The dr had been told I had been taking nucynta an opioid and on the waring for Ativan it states not to take if you have been on opioid it can and will stop your breathing I had been on opioids for 6 days at this point for post surgical pain. Had I taken this medicine I would have probably died. And I know from experience when I have this sever of a reaction I need an Epi pin and or clinical strength Benadryl and or steroid like prednisone and I hate prednisone. I was given two over the counter strength Benadryl and sent out the door immediately after with them knowing that I was having a hard time breathing and was numb from Head to toe and I could not urinate. This dr and nurse should not be able to practice medicine and or treat patients if this is how it I going to be. I say not just walk but run away from this hospital as fast as you can. I will never again go to this Hospital ever again. I don't care if I am dying I want to be taken to a different hospital. The only way I would ever grace this hospital ever again would be by taking me against my will. read more

Don't go here unless you absolutely need to. The P.A. that examined my daughter in the ER, Mr. Green, was both rude and condescending to my daughter who was in a lot of pain. He told her that she didn't have good judgement for coming to the ER even though she had extreme abdominal pain. Not only was he not able to help but we were not even given the option to speaking with a real doctor. All said and done, 3-4 hours resulted in more than $11,000 in medical bills. Had a knee replacement by whom I consider " The rockstar of implant". That would be Dr. Joshua Hickman. Highly advise. I had my knee done by a hack that retired. Went to UofU nobody wanted to fix someone garbage. Then I finally found Dr. Hickman. Fixed it beautifully. Unfortunately the place he originally planned wasn't in my insurance plan. So in order for it to be in my plan, it had to done at Lakeview Hospital. Stayed one one day. With my insurance I paid 4000.00$, my insurance pays 90%. That means it cost 40,000.00$ for one day. Nurses stop in maybe 2 times. Didn't get any food. Was able to retain a menu after I asked three times. Pretty bad service for 40,000$ read more

This review is for Dr Alex Nelson, who works at The Pain Management Center/Neurology next door to the hospital and is affiliated with Lakeview Hospital. I hve been treated by Dr Nelson and his stall since April of 2017, when my M.D. could not prescribe the increase in pain medication I needed (I had been on the same dosage for a bit over 3 years). Dr Nelson did a detailed examination of my records from my GP and my neurosurgeon, plus did an examination of me in the office and looked up my MRI's. He was then able to adjust my medicines accordingly, and combined with acupuncture, at-home TENS therapy (they're surprisingly affordable on Amazon and work well) and meditation I have been able to lead a much more active life than I had. Dr Nelson is very through, professional and competent; in addition he is sympathetic, understanding and very personable...I would say he's one of the best doctors I've had in my 55 years. His NP, Desiree, has all the same attributes and she's the person I see monthly (at this point the Dr mainly is for bigger issues that develop). She is very good at her job following up on not just the physical issues but pays attention to how I'm doing mentally in dealing with pain and loss of some function...and she's also a genuinely nice person and cares. The nurses are also wonderful, caring and great listeners; very professional and thorough. They help make the visits very pleasant and beneficial. The ones who work in the office are very kind and courteous and are a great asset to the ofie. Plus, everyone there has a sense of humor...when's the last time you saw that in a doctor's office? I would highly and wholeheartedly recommend this pain management clinic and these wonderful people to anyone needing pain mgmt or neurological help. SO HECKING BAD!!!! I came here with my friend because her throat was bleeding and upon hearing shes not covid vaxed, a separate doctor came in to scold her for not getting it. This doctor took time away from other patients to scold her for not being in a mass science experiment. The lack of respect she has for her job is embarrassing. It's not her job to scold patients for not experimenting with drugs. read more

I have never had a good experience at this hospital. My poor elderly neighbor lady fell and broke her arm and I just love how the doctor acted like it was no big deal. Ohhh well we will give her some pain meds maybe get an X-ray then send her on her way.... Ummm hello she just had a heart attack in May you can clearly see her elbow is like popped out if place she is in excruciating pain and your acting like ehhh she is not one of the rich bountiful people so we will do as little as possible and send her home. Seriously so irritated with this place. I wish we would have taken her to LDS hospital instead poor thing. They don't call it Death Star for no reason. If you're not going to die I say drive the extra few miles to a different hospital. read more

Horrible. You might be 1 of 3 people who will look up a review for a hospital, but I'm not sure how else to show my dissatisfaction with this place. My mother had an emergency issue with her back that put her in a lot of pain. She ended up calling the ambulance and unfortunately enough, they brought her to Deathview. (I've heard that term used by 3 other people). After waiting about an hour while in the bed for a doctor, I personally asked the doctor if he could come see her and offer some assistance, since the nurses were essentially waiting for the doctor to come in. When I asked him, he was just sitting in his chair seemingly taking a break on a chair, and seemed very put off that I was bothering him. This wasn't a busy time, this was late at night on a Sunday. After waiting over an hour, the last thing anyone needs is an attitude from a doctor who should be a little more understanding. Seriously, the worst. If I was in a car accident, I'll risk having a limb amputated by taking some extra time to go to another hospital rather than have anyone come here. read more

Twice in the last month I have had to use the ER here and have been impressed by the kind staff. When you aren't feeling well, the service with a smile and compassion matters. I also delivered my baby here a year ago and felt like family, with employees staying beyond their shift to ensure my high risk delivery went smooth. Took my husband here after a shoulder injury. Check in was insanely smooth. You just scan the patient ID and all the paper work is filled out. There was no wait. We didn't even sit, they came right out. The RN was way cool and friendly. My husband was in excruciating pain (nasty ac seperation). The RN didn't waste any time getting an IV and morphine ordered for him. She was very observant and attentive in the time we were there and asked if he needed something else. My husband needs elephant tranquilizers to barely make him yawn. Nothing works for him, but she got his pain under control without wasting time. The girl who came to take his xrays was concerned about his pain and immediately grabbed a sling. What a life saver! Dr. Van Grinkel was really fast to tend to him. He got his x-rays ordered, looked at them and diagnosed him in less than 30 minutes. The lady that registers patients was very kind and pleasant. She was in and out quickly. The doctor was describing an AC separation of the clavicle. He said it looked up, out and backwards. He said there was a big chance of surgery. He wasted no time and called the orthopedic surgeon to make them aware we were coming in first thing in the morning. Their teamwork was flawless. This was truly an EMERGENCY room. Too many times I thought I was in an ER, but didn't realize I was disrupting social hour and ended up spending many, unecessary, frustrating hours waiting. Our experience here was a good one. It was what you should expect from an ER. Some people think ERs are fixer upper cure alls. No, they are there to help manage the pain, get you stabilized and send you in your way with a referral to a specialist. The Intermountain Medical Center aka, "The Death Star" is where you want to go for a real in your face hospital experience. You know, where you get the drugged out guy yelling at the gunshot patient who is in the same room as a pregnant lady with high blood pressure. Fun fun. Lakeview is the hospital you go to if you just need an ER that will get shiz done. Side note: Today, we went to the orthopedic surgeon they referred us to. He said he completly agreed with the hospital notes and diagnosis and was able to tell us in more detail of what happened. Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow. Lakeview did an excellent job. Pros: -Good cafeteria (tasty liver and onions!) -Good gift shop, where I bought a teddy bear -Good private practice specialists who work there occasionally -Good anesthesiologist Cons: -Nurse who took 8 tries to get IV in (which is violation of practice for a single person) before relenting to another nurse practitioner -Nurses who neither washed their hands nor sanitized them upon entering the room -Accidentally mixing up the charts of two patients who went through mildly similar surgeries (breast reduction patient with an abdominal surgery patient) -Brusque, bad-bedside mannered, non-listening "respiratory specialist" who turned out later NOT to be the respiratory specialist but a doctor with a background in respiratory health. The actual respiratory specialist was furious at this. In short, the surgery (not mine) was successful, and the actual specialist surgeon was a dream-and-a-half, and the nurses in recovery were quite nice. However, I can absolutely tell why this hospital has the nickname of "Deathview." read more

They charged me $2000.00 for an ibuprofen. I will never come back and do not recommend it's unethical practices to anyone

After leaving my previous review I just wanted to update that I was able to sit down with the head of the billing the department and he was very helpful and apologetic for the mistakes made on our account. I am changing my review as a result of our conversation. Since we loved the care and nurses in the maternity ward we are so happy to know that there are people there that can sit down and make things right when mistakes are made. I wish we had spoken with him before! I'm glad to know we can use Lakeview in the future for deliveries. I would just suggest that you pay attention to the bills and speak with someone in charge if you have questions from the start. Hospitals are businesses and up-charges and mistakes happen. The care in the maternity ward was excellent though and we would love to deliver there in the future! read more
