TLDR: KNOW YOUR INSURANCE POLICY. WALK OUT BEFORE PAYING OUT-OF-POCKET FOR SOMETHING YOUR INSURANCE…read moreSHOULD COVER. I work 80 hours a week. Dr. Cleetus has wasted half of my rare off day, and I still don't have a new prescription. I am not going back, and if you have Superior Vision, you should also avoid Target and LensCrafters locations at this time. It was difficult to find a provider who was in network and available on weekend days. I initially appreciated the online methods to make an appointment because in my line of work, I can't make a phone call during normal business hours to schedule an appointment. I did my due diligence: I was informed of my benefits and I searched for in-network providers on my insurance website. Chose Dr. Cleetus because she was listed for both services I was seeking--routine exam and contact lens fitting--and because she had recent, good reviews on multiple platforms. In the days leading up to the appointment, I filled out all the forms I was sent. Arrived 30 min early, which was great because I found out that the location is different from Target Optical. Target Optical sells glasses and is inside Target. Dr. Cleetus' office is outside. During the check in process, I learned that there was a discrepancy. From my insurance website, I expected contact lens fitting to be covered by my plan with only a copay on my end, but on their end (they use Luxottica for their online portal), they didn't see contact lens fitting among my benefits. As such, I was asked to pay for the contact lens fitting out of pocket. I verified that there would not be a penalty for day-of cancellation, and then I left to call my insurance for clarification. My insurance company explained that because of the website portals that optometrists affiliated with Target and LensCrafters choose to use, there is currently a technical issue. They are unable to see all the benefits a patient has. This location had not reported the issue to Superior Vision and had instead been charging patients out of pocket for what is supposed to be covered. It is each clinic's responsibility to notify patients of these issues when scheduling the appointment. I was never notified of this. My insurance spoke with Dr. Cleetus on my behalf. The office confirmed that I had shown up for my appointment. They refused to offer me a free contact lens fitting for my inconvenience. The best they could offer was to submit a claim. When asked what compensation she would be able to offer me for my wasted half-day and gas money, she said she did not feel obligated to do so. I was advised by my insurance to go elsewhere. Of note, they also offer additional services at an additional out-of-pocket cost. I had already selected to opt out on the online form prior to my appointment. Upon checking in, I again felt pressured to change my mind. We only moved on after I explained that I had undergone some of those portions of the exam before but did not have the budget for them today. As a young healthy person, I would not have derived much benefit from such services. I wish the healthcare professionals would have considered whether such harmless but pricey tests were truly indicated for me instead of just pushing anyone to pay for additional services. This practice failed to communicate with my insurance company when there was a technical issue. This practice failed to communicate to me in advance of my appointment. This practice feigned ignorance and said this situation only happens on occasion. The only way that might be true is if they don't have any Superior Vision patients. From the way they responded, it's clear they don't need me as a customer. I hope they see their other paying customers as patients and not wallets.

This is my second year coming to this establishment for my annual eye exam. They are located at…read moreCostco, but NOT inside Costco. Their office is attached to the Costco building, but they are independently owned and operated. You do NOT need a Costco membership to use this optometrist. Anyone can use their services whether you have insurance or not. Both times, it was easy to make an appointment. First time we walked in after shopping at Costco and made appointments in person. I had time, so I saw them later the same day. My husband came back later in the week. On my second visit here a year later, I called and made an appointment on the phone. My information was already in the system, so it was quick to setup. They offer several types of eye tests. When filling out your paperwork, it clearly states which tests are offered and the cost for each. You indicate on your paperwork which tests you want. The test options are: 1) The field test (the one where you push a button every time you see a light flash on the screen 2) The puff test (the one where they blow a puff of air into your eye) 3) The digital imaging test (the one where they take a picture of the back of your eye to check on the health of the blood vessels) Even though my insurance only covers one of the tests, I get everything and pay out of pocket for the rest. The technician takes you through the above tests. You sit on a wheeled stool and slide to the left until you have visited each machine. After a short wait, you visit with the doctor to discuss your concerns. You will read the usual eye charts "EZOST" and do the "Which one is clearer, 1 or 2?" test. If you requested dilation of the eyes, the doctor will put the drops in and then you'll wait in the lobby for the solution to take affect. After awhile, you'll be called back in to go over your test results and do some more basic tests where the doctor will shine lights in your eyes to check your eye health and vision. I've seen two different doctors here. Both were very professional and answered my questions. Before leaving, you'll pay any amounts owed and receive print outs of distance and reading prescriptions as well as a receipt for the services rendered. The staff were kind enough to provide me with a pair of take home glasses (actually a piece of dark film that adheres to your face) to protect my eyes until the dilation wore off. There are no frames for sale here, so no high pressure sales. If you have a Costco membership, you can venture inside the building and pick and buy frames, but if you don't, you can take your prescription to any favorite retailer to get your preferred frames at a price that works for you. I appreciate the courtesy and professional service I receive here. They communicate everything clearly and in advance of service. There are no surprises in care or cost. This is a great optometrist office.

I went here for new glasses…read more The experience was uneven. I went in to ask if they do eye exams for new glasses and they said yes but were "completely booked" for the day. It was about 11am. They gave me some options for the following week which did not work for me, so I was just standing there thinking about what to do when the receptionist said "can you come today at 1pm?" I said sure, not questioning why the booked schedule had changed suddenly. I arrived at 1pm and no other customers were in line for an exam or anything else. In fact, during my whole time there I saw zero people there for an exam, so where the "full schedule" came from is a master to me. They tried to start off with an eye exam but their first machine broke or was not functioning. Luckily, I had recent paperwork from my other eye doctor that they could use, otherwise I was wasting my time and would have to come back another time. They accepted my paperwork so we were in business. After the exam was completed, I chose my frames--they have a decent selection with different price tiers--and Issac worked with me on the price. At the point of purchase I was told that they would text me when the glasses were ready. A week later, I had heard nothing so I called and was told the glasses had arrived. I went in the next day to get my new glasses. I am happy with them, they fit well and I can see clearly again. The day after I picked up my glasses I received a text that my glasses are ready for pickup.

I was in an incubator for the first 5 months of my life and was pumped with lots of pure oxygen.
