I have had very friendly service both times I have been to this location. The location is nice and clean and has a big selection of women's frames for smaller faces (which is what I need). Thanks to Emily for helping me fix my broken glasses and looking forward to continuing to work with this Eye Boutique in the future. read more

Front Desk and the staff ordering prescriptions are incompetent and lazy! They want to pass the buck and blame other people. They mess up constantly. Customer service is everything nowadays. Only reason i return is because of the doctor. He is good. read more

Terrible service, you have to call them 10 times before they answer. I paid $600 for glasses almost a month ago, and still nothing, they keep saying they will finish them up but they haven't. I will never go again to that place again and I don't recommend anybody to go over there. I wish I could give them 0 stars. read more

I had a very thorough eye exam, dr was professional and staff at front of store was friendly and helpful. My prescription was great and I am grateful to have corrected sight! read more

I went to pickup my new lens and the lady put them in my glasses. When i put them on, i was seeing double. I told the lady and she told me that it will take a few days for my eye to adjust as my prescription went up by a lot. She double checked my glasses and said everything is fine, it's weird you cannot see, and sent me on my way. Next day comes and i still cannot see and seeing double. I go to another eye doctor and he told me my lens were on the wrong eye, and backwards. He said that was very dangerous and could have ruined my eyes if i kept wearing my glasses that way. I even spoke up when i first tried my glasses on and they basically told me i just needed to adjust to them. I normally don't complain at all, but this could have been very dangerous. read more

I made an appointment and saw their eye doctor quickly. He wasn't very friendly but wasn't there for a friend, so sat down to look at glasses. The selection was good. Expensive but I wanted new glasses and they were Ray Bands so I was ok paying. I ordered transition lenses and payed extra for the thinner lenses. I paid and awaited a call or email the glasses were in. After a month I called and inquired about the glasses. They weren't in yet but was assured they'd call when they arrived. No call came and I again followed up to learn the glasses were in. I went to be fitted and found they were a thick lens, uncomfortable and I couldn't see well. I was told they were what I'd order and paid for. I was told to try them for a few days, and my eyes would adjust. After three days and I still couldn't use them as I couldn't see I went back in. The manager said he'd send them back to be fixed and the wrong thickness lens had been sent. A month later and no call. I again called to find out they still weren't in, but received a call a few days later to say they were in. The glasses were now of the thin material I'd wanted and paid for, but I still couldn't see well with them. I again was told to wear them a few days for my eyes to adjust. Again took them and again they didn't work. Again brought them back. I was told the manager would call me in two days. A week later I called again. After five months I had paid $500 for glasses that I couldn't see with. Glasses were returned and after two weeks was finally refunded. This was four months and ended up needing to find a different eye glasses store. Avoid at all cost. The two stars is for the selection and the manager was nice, even if I had to chance him down. read more

I paid $730 for a pair of glasses less than 5 months ago and they are garbage. They don't provide any peripheral vision. The technician measured by center incorrectly so I have to adjust them constantly. The lenses scratch ridiculously easily. I paid up for "best" lenses and coatings, like the scratch resistance, and I am very careful. The coating is visibly wearing off. They have terrible customer service. Don't waste your money here! read more

After reading these reviews I'm surprised at what they said because my experience here recently was phenomenal. I was welcomed by all staff and they were all eager to help me. Filled out some paperwork, waited 5-10 mins and had a very friendly and nice doctor! After I was done the whole team was willing to help me again, gave me discounts on everything I bought and helped me order a frame that they didn't own in store through amazon. Visiting this place in the morning left me with a great feeling that lasted all day and my contacts and glasses came in faster than they predicted! read more

Not the best eye experience I've ever had, but I'll probably go again. The optometrist is great - friendly, personable and timely. Front staff, especially on the phone, could take some pointers from him. My biggest thing was I'm really not sure how I ended up paying the same amount for contacts and an exam I paid without insurance, with insurance. I didn't feel like arguing, but it does seem a bit strange. read more

This place is horrible. My family and I went there due to insurance purposes. It was a disaster from the start. Contact prescription was off and had to go back during the trial period. We received our glasses and the vision was not right. The lenses look like coke bottles and when I went back to see what could be fixed, the manager just keep saying "I can't", basically saying we bought the glasses and now we are stuck with them. The manager is incompetent and the Dr. as well. I have never had to go back to the eye doctor 3 times due to not getting the prescription correct. Customer service is sub par to say the least. Please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, especially if you want excellent care. Eye boutique both in Algonquin and Crystal Lake both are below average. Please do not waste your time or insurance benefits here, you will be disappointed! read more

My biggest problem with both location is the staff here, customer service doesn't seem to matter. There is a holy lot of attitude. I tried to give them a second chance and it was the same old thing. read more

So disappointed in this place. Bought eyeglasses these 13 months ago. $780.00. Supposed to be high quality. One year warranty. Arm broke. I brought them in today to have them repaired, know it at my cost now. They told me they can't do it. I would need to buy a whole new pair, even the lens. This seems like such scam. I have been wearing (and breaking) glasses for 30 years and every optometrist I have had was able to send them off to be repaired. This place just wants to bilk me for another 800.00. Terrible customer service. Today stopped in to order contacts. The woman looks up my name. She tells me I am a week over due for my yearly checkup. So I ask does that mean I can't order the contacts. No she tells me and asks if I would like to make an appointment. At this point I'm already walking out the door. I turn back and told her no, I'll be going elsewhere. There was no offer to help me out. Like, hey let's make you an appointment and I'll see if we have any temporary contacts in stock for you in the mean time. Really one week no flexibility no suggestions. Just a whatever I am bored attitude. I a done spending my money with companies that make things harder. read more

Even though I read the reviews I decided to go there because I need something closer to home. I have to say the customer service is not good. read more

Michele was wonderful and able to answer all our questions. We came in with a lot of questions regarding insurance and she was super patient and helped us work through the option to get the best deal. We would definitely go back! read more

Terrible experience at this location, if you can even call it an experience. My wife made an appointment at the store in person 3 weeks in advance for her, myself and my daughter. On the day of the appointment, I take off the morning of work to go with my family. We get there and "Oh, we don't have any record of your names for today's schedule" But we made the appointment in person and saw the staff member write it down in the book. "Oh here it is in the book. But he must have not entered it in the system. Sorry we have no more openings today" That's professionalism for you folks. Just a shrug and a sorry is all we got. I know mistakes get made, but most places of business will go out of there way to make it up to the customer. Not this one. Staff is unfriendly and inconsiderate. Avoid this place read more

Make sure u get everything in writing before u leave. When your insurance covers $150 on frames and your frames cost $189 how do they then charge u $119 for frames. U tell them u don't want the protective coating on the glasses but the do it anyway. She told me she is very good at what she does. Well math at hearing are not her strong point. I will never go there again. Their bill statement is confusing. Where they get their numbers from is anyone's guess. If they tell u they will fix it later. Don't have them fix it then and there. read more

This place has a policy I really don't like. I'm new to town, needed to order contacts, so went there for a fresh prescription. They would not give me my prescription at the conclusion of the appointment, stating they needed to make sure there werent any issues with it and needed a follow-up appointment. I've been wearing contacts for 20 years, no issues. Even brought my glasses in, prescription is the same, did the exam, all good. Now I'm back to pick up my prescription, reporting no issues, & the doctor is not available to sign and release it. I just need this peice of paper I paid $119 for to go order contacts. I thought I'd try to help a small business out instead of Walmart, even though they are way more expensive but this is ridiculous. I feel like my prescription is being held hostage and these guys are wasting my time! Please rethink this policy of follow-up appt required. A phone call would be fine, then email me the script. read more

I was very impressed with the Eye Boutique. I went there because my eye doctor did not have a good selection of glasses. I am probably more picky than most, but think it is very important to love your glasses since you wear them often. The Eye Boutique had a great selection of glasses with all of the latest trends. The staff was remarkable. They spent a lot of time with me and assisted me in finding the perfect pair of glasses. read more

My husband had his exam there and then tried buying the eyeglasses. The lady was not only very neglectful when adding all the options to his lenses when pricing the eyeglasses but also very rude. She took personal calls and belittled the person on the other end even as she was "assisting" another customer. We couldn't find a frame that we both liked so we went somewhere else. That clerk said there was a hold out onto the insurance by that "nice" lady so when we called the store she rudely told us and then the clerk that she isn't willing to do anything to help since we didn't buy anything from them. :o In the end the clerk (Pearl Vision - Crystal Lake) called the insurance and had it fixed. Wow! What an experience! read more

If I could rate this place at zero stars I would. While the optomitrist was very good the front of the place was the worst eye glass store I have ever been in. The staff is incompetent and do not know how to do the simplest task involving fitting a person for glasses. They do not know their product and charge you for services that they don't do. read more

After shopping around for a new Optical store, I chose The Eye boutique in Algonquin. I have one closer to where I live but called this one by mistake. The woman that answered the phone, Ellen, was so helpful I decided to drive a little further to go to this location. Becoming a patient there was a very pleasant experience. The Doctor was thorough and explained everything to me. I needed contacts and glasses. Ellen helped me figure out which one I should use my insurance for to save me the most money. While I had to buy a years' supply, I got a pair of $30 sunglasses and an $80 mail in rebate. This brought the cost way below 1-800-contacts or Costco. If you have Insurance, I highly recommend you check out this place. Also, Ellen spent a lot of time with me choosing frames. I'm in the process of changing my hair color from red so the color of the frames is very important. Try it, you'll be glad you did! read more

What a wonderful team of people, they made everything regarding my eyeglass purchases seamless! Thanks

Went in to purchase my daughter glasses on her winter break before she went back to college. They were very helpful and made a convenient appointment to fit our busy schedule. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Frame selection is great. Things were going well until we tried to place our order after the exam. The told us they will not have the glasses shipped to her school address. I questioned and they said they had bad experience with shipping in the past. I advised that I would be paying for the shipping and would include shipping insurance if they like. Still a no. I ended up going to the Eye Boutique in Crystal Lake who did not have an issue with shipping. Have been having glasses shipped to my college student children from different vendors for years without issues. This was for a $150.00 pair of glasses and as this is almost 2015 you would not think it would be an issue. I have had less hassle having thousands of dollars of electronics shipped. I hope they change their shipping policy as I thought the store and staff were great and this would raise my rating and bring me back as a returning customer. read more
