Dr. Oneill is fantastic! I came in with an eye injury and she was able to squeeze me in even though I am not a patient. She was very thorough and took great care helping me with my injury. she even called me later that evening to see how I was doing! Dr. O'Neill treated me like family and truly cared about my wellbeing which is a rarity these days in the medical field. I am switching my family and I to her for all of our optical needs going forward because of how blown away I was with how wonderful she and this place was!!! I highly recommend!!! Thank you again Dr. O'Neill!!! read more

Dr Pawlek is my optometrist and she is great! The ladies at the front desk have always been very nice too. I don't purchase eyeglasses there just get eye exams. read more

The Dr was good and the girl that helped me when I arrived. But the women that helped with ny glasses was less the competent. Took near 2 hours to get glasses cuz she keep running off. And recently I found a defect in my glasses they completely refused to fix even tho I was still in warranty, they didn't even check. The same women looked at them and lied to me saying there was nothing wrong with them. I have to admit their prices are very good but in the end not worth it. Plus my new eye Dr says my perception was too weak from this place. read more

My family has used Northwest for years, and have had only wonderful experiences. Everyone has always been very polite and friendly, and we've had no problems getting glasses replaced using their warranty program. They've also been really helpful whenever we needed glasses tightened out adjusted. The only reason I'm giving them 4 stars is because their glasses do cost more than most other places I've been to, but you can always take your prescription elsewhere. read more

It's unfortunate Algonquin would grant a business license to such a poor practice. The owner is downright rude and the staff follows suit. They never have contact scrip's in stock and it takes weeks just to get basic lenses. Do not let yourself be fooled by the nice office brick façade. Save yourself and your insurance the hassle, go elsewhere. read more

Staff is extremely rude, but worst of all is the manager/owner. Don't even bother with him if you are not satisfied. I've went elsewhere since my last visit and am very happy that I made the switch. read more

Went for my usual eye exam. I wanted to see Dr.oneil so I asked what day she was there and the staff found me a day and time that was great for me. Everyone there is so nice and helpful I recommend them to everyone thanks for all the years of eye care and conversations see ya next visit read more

Northwest Eyecare is an excellent place to go for an eye exam and also to obtain glasses and contacts. Dr. Diana Peneula O'Neill is an excellent optometrist, she is very thorough , extremely knowledgable and cares about her patients. I have seen many optometrists over the years and she is by far the best. Mike O'Neill, the optician, is so accomodating and extremely helpful in finding the right frames and making adjustments whenever needed.I highly reccomend the practice.I have received wonderful eyecare from Dr. Diana Peneula O'Neill and Mike O'Neill. Don't waste your time with this place. Called to see if they had any emergency appointments and was informed no, which was fine. Asked if they had any late appointments this week, was informed no, which was fine. But what made me very mad is that I asked when would be the next late evening appointment they would have and the lady that was working (12.18.17 at 1:21 pm - if management cares) huffed and puffed, while saying "on my god, what is this in regards to". What! Do you not get paid for working. I thought the other individuals leaving reviews here were just overreacting. Someone needs to look into getting new staff before they go out of business. As one person stated, go elsewhere. read more

I met with Dr. Penuela-O'Neill, and she was very polite and thorough with my examination. I will definitely be coming back for my next eye examination! read more

The only reason I gave 2 stars was because I feel bad for Dr. Ashley Roehl. She was was very nice, competent and professional. The front office was not any of those. As I sat in the waiting area I listened to conversations they had over the phone as well as face to face with customers. My wife and I both got exams and ordered glasses. We told them mine were needed asap. Turns out my wife's were ready in a week & mine took a month to get. I understand waiting but they never called me, I always had to call them and then they said they were waiting for a tool from Italy for the frames I ordered. They said it would be ready Friday. I called the Monday after and they said it would be the next Friday. They really need to send their front office help to customer service classes. We won't be returning to this place but I do hope to see Dr. Roehl at the next place we use. read more

Been going to a place in crystal lake that I was not happy with and a friend recommended this office. I am very pleased. This was the most thorough exam I have had in years. Doctor took her time and addressed all my needs. The staff helped me pick out a great looking pair of glasses and was quite reasonably priced. Have gotten many compliments from coworkers. read more

The staff is rude every time I go in, not to mention they are trying to force me into buying the most expensive brand of contacts because that's what the doctor fit my daughter in. I'M SORRY! Its my money & my choice what I want to purchase. I had told the doctor that I wanted her to be able to try 2 brands at her initial appointment, and surprise when we went in for the contact training that was not the case. Instead of the staff being understanding they were cocky & rude. Now we have to go back again to see the doctor to be able to try discuss trying another brand? So she is basically trying contacts for a week that I have no intentions on purchasing. Talk about a waste of a trip. This is the 3rd time I have had a bad experience there. After this exam, no more. I will take my business some where else! To top it off, every time I have gone in they have a new doctor. I have never seen the same doctor more than once. Also if you like to listen to the staff complain about losing charts sit in their waiting room for a little while. I know who the patient is and exactly what he needed, they were panicking saying they could not find the A's or the B's anywhere. That sure makes you feel safe as a patient that your medical file is floating around somewhere? read more

I only really go there anymore out of convenience. I don't even buy my glasses there because they're so overpriced. The doctors have always been nice to me, but the office staff is often difficult to deal with. It's like they have no customer service training. They're short on the phone and in person, and you have to chase them down to ask questions or get updates on orders. I've also had two incidents now where they didn't communicate all the information about my order and overcharged me. Though they reversed the charges in one case (after a long battle), it wouldn't have happened in the first place if they had just taken an extra minute to talk to me about my order instead of rushing me out the door. If you can deal with the office staff and are willing to take your prescription to another place for cheaper glasses, the doctors are worth the visit, but I know I'll be finding a new office for my next exam. read more

I have been going to this place for many years now and the service has gone down hill in the past several years. Both my kids are now needing glasses/contacts and we have had nothing but problems with them since I started taking my kids there. In trying to order my daughters contacts this place switched the prescription last minute when ordering her contacts then she developed headaches. They told us we should bring her prescription back to what it originally was which solved the problem. Only thing was we had all these contact for a wrong prescription. They told us they can switch any unopened box with the correct prescription. We dropped off the unused boxes of contact at the office and about 2 weeks later called to check on status of new contact to find out no one has any clue what is going on and that they have no idea who would have told us we can switch boxes. So we are out the wrong prescription boxes of contact because this place has them and they are not ordering us any new ones. I strongly recommend you stay away from this place. The only person they claim can help you is MIKE who by the way is NEVER around to help you so good luck if anything goes wrong. read more

My experience at Northwest Eyecare was excellent. I called early this past week to schedule an immediate appointment, and the staff was able to accommodate my request. I have some very special medical needs currently that required detailed explanation from me to the doctor and I required essential input/advice from a good optometrist. Dr. O'Neill spent the first 20 minutes of our session actively listening to my medical and visual concerns. She was caring and able to address my exam questions and needs skillfully and easily. The entire staff was helpful and in my opinion very compassionate. The office manager took extra time to check if my insurance would cover my appointment (he called them without me asking). He was able to get the insurance company to pay their portion of the visit just by explaining to them my medical urgency. This was awesome! I've been happy with the service I've received over the past 5+ years and I've recommended Northwest Eyecare to others. This visit was so valuable to me and the extra steps the doctor and staff took on my behalf is really commendable. Definite 5 stars. read more
