I went to Johnson Eye Care after a referral from good friends .... and I am so impressed with my visit with Dr Schoepke. I have been having eye issues and I can't thank the Johnson Eye Care team for being so patient and focused on helping me. I have been wearing glasses since I have been a kid and was extremely impressed with how sophisticated all of the equipment their equipment was. It's extremely professional and was able to get to the root of the issues with my issue while Dr Schoepke did a deep look into what I have going on. Being that I am a very technical person ... I was geeking out with all the gear the have ( can you tell ). Oh btw no Air blowing in your eyes here to check your pressure... on top of it Dr Schoepke said those tests are no very reliable. Here's the deal... a year ago I was told from sketchy Dr in the western suburbs that I have a rare eye issue and I would have to go to Canada to stop for going blind in the future. I was relieved that this is not true and the issue I have just needs to be monitored. I have had a weight on my shoulders since that last visit.... I can believe I waited this long. To top it off the they have a great selection of glasses and Mary was extremely helpful picking out the right frames for me. Big thank you to the Johnson Eye care Team. The new patient process was easy, and the staff was super professional, compassionate and extremely helpful! I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Thomas! She did a very thorough exam, discussed everything in detail and answered every question I had. She is a wonderful Dr who cares about her patients. My wife and I have been going to this office for years! We use to live in the Wauconda area, now we are in Mundelein... this place is worth the commute. Every time I have called during business hours they have been very prompt in answering, and courteous. They have a good selection of frames, but not overtly large. Everything from cost friendly options to your premium brands, such as Ray Ban. Dr. Katherine Suzanne Delgadillo has been nothing but professional with us and has helped us get on a path to eye-wellness through proper nutrition and supplementation. I recommend getting your eye photographed if you haven't before, as it offers a lot of insight that might not be visible under normal circumstances. read more

When I first moved here, I needed to find an eye doctor. Based on Yelp reviews, I went to Primary eye care in Crystal Lake.. Big mistake finally capped off by my unpleasant experience yesterday. My temple broke. I went in and the young lady treated me as if I was there to steal something. I left with broken glasses in hand and no solution. Went to Johnson's Eyecare center in Cary and wow, what a difference? The young lady there found another frame that would fit my existing lenses perfectly. She wouldn't accept just okay. Everyone in the office is always very friendly and professional. Dr. Delgadillo is very knowledgeable and is always able to answer all the questions I have, including questions about insurance, to make sure my glasses and contacts are affordable for me. Their website makes it especially easy to get appointments scheduled, they even have the medical history forms online so you don't have to sit in the office filling them out. I've also heard on several occasions about the doctors' travels abroad, giving people in at risk areas vision care, which is awesome! Highly recommended! read more

What phenomenal staff!! I had my first visit in April, I did have to call in March in order to make the appointment with any of the doctors however. So it was a bit of a wait to get in which is the only reason for four out of five stars. But they were certainly beyond friendly and accommodating to me over the phone and tried many ways of finagling my "reason" for the visit so I might get an earlier date. Worthy effort, but it was really just for a regular exam so I didn't tell them I had any issues I was seeing the doctor for. When I arrived for my appointment, they had already told me to get the forms from the site so I wouldn't have to wait - and I certainly didn't have to. They took my info and got me in within minutes. These are seriously some of the best medical office staff I've come across, from front desk to the technicians, to Dr. Johnson himself. They offered me an upgraded scan of my eyes which really wasn't a terrible cost - but allowed me a 3D image to better see any issues I might have. With a history of diabetes and me starting to see signs, I jumped at the opportunity. They made sure - it even seemed as if they double and triple checked - that all my health and eye care insurance info was in order before I left. Dr. Johnson also let me take a trial pair of contacts and noted if they didn't work to let him know and they'd swap them out if at all necessary until we found the correct fit. He also was able to verify my previous prescription for contacts had been too strong, and sure enough the ones he gave me of a lesser strength were just right. I just called to fill my prescription for them since they worked for me and, again, the staff was beyond friendly and helpful. They even pulled my insurance info so they could tell me exactly how much I'll need to pay out of pocket when I arrive and - as I know they will - that they'll call in a day or two when they arrive so I can pick them up. I appreciate this wonderful office and their staff. I'll definitely recommend and thank them for their efforts in making it such a pleasant experience! read more

Dr. Johnson is the absolute best. I have been going to him for over 10 years. My children love going to see him as he always teaches them something they believe is "very cool". Even when my company changes to a vision insurance that isn't accepted in this office, I continue to bring my family here. I have recommended Johnson Eye Care to several friends who are equally as impressed. I never want to have to find a new eye doctor. read more

Johnson Eye Care is so wonderful. I went to them for nearly 10 years despite moving away about 5 years in -- I would even schedule my appointments on my trips home to Cary because I didn't want to find a new office. I recently had to find an eye doctor in LA, and it wasn't the same experience as it was with Johnson Eye Care. Dr. Johnson is the best--so personable and knowledgeable, and the ladies who help with picking out frames / provide options for frames are top notch. Truly a great office! read more

The WORST customer service I have ever had!! I called to make a new appointment for my 2 boys.. The receptionist (Iris) was extremely rude throughout the conversation. She asked for my address, insurance info etc... and cell phone number. I told her that I would rather not give it out that I prefer calls at home. I am a stay at home mom and usually do not carry my cell phone with me unless I am out and about. Under her breath she said "customer refused to give cell phone number" in a nasty tone. She then proceeded to question me more as to why I did not want to give my cell number. Both of my sons wanted contacts instead of glasses, she said that they would not have time to show them how to use them and that we would have to come back at a later date to do that (and charge me an additional $55.00 EACH for time to show my boys how to use them) even when I asked to schedule an appointment that would allow extra time (we live about 40 min away). I asked to speak to a manager and she refused. Someone named Karen picked up the phone and said that she was acting as manager while the manager was supposedly out to lunch. When I asked to have the manager call me she said that the manager would not be interested in talking to me that is was a complete waste of her time and refused to give her the message. When I asked for "her" name, she said "Karen or Sue or whatever. NICE!!!! The next day some woman who did not identify herself called and said that they did not want us as new patients and have cancelled both of our appointments. Once again, I asked to speak to the manager and she said "NO" that the manager did not care to hear about my concerns (mind you this whole thing never got past the front desk). Isn't that the managers job to hear a customers concerns, good or bad?!? At no time during these conversations did I raise my voice or say anything that would cause this reaction! I'm truly at a loss as to why they would treat a potential customer in this manner. Please do NOT waste your time or money by going to this place. Absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! Love this place! I have been to a few different eye care places over the last few years due to insurance changes, and I am sooo glad to be back. The office is clean and the staff is wonderful. I was taken back for my appointment immediately after arriving. The exam was quick but not rushed. The equipment is up to date. The lady who checked me out was so helpful with going over my insurance information and finding me the best deal for glasses and contacts. Everyone is friendly and helpful. read more

I met one the most wonderful doctors while working out a few years ago. She's fun, nice, and has a great disposition. I was complaining about my contacts, one day, and she told me that she was an eye doctor; I had no idea! I was thrilled when she gave me her card, and invited me to make an appointment. I called and everyone was super friendly, professional, and helpful. I got my exam, ordered my contacts and they came in THE NEXT DAY!! They were even very accommodating when I had an eye emergency; Johnson Eye Care staff always found the time to get me in and help me out. The place is, without a doubt, very caring and treats their patients like family. They are unable to use my insurance, but I still will go no other place. They are very professional, the staff is nice, and the doctors are very knowledgeable about eye care and contacts. The office is nice, too, and everyone is very friendly and welcoming. My daughters came home from school one day with a note saying they needed an eye exam because they did poorly on the one given at school. We live in the area so we called Johnson Eye Care and were able to schedule their back to back appointments with relative ease. Upon arrival, my girls were a little nervous. We were greeted as we walked in by the front desk staff and ask to fill out some paperwork. Once we completed the paperwork, we waited a very short time for our name to be called. The Doctor came out and invited all 3 of us to the exam room. This was GREAT because it put my twins at ease. Sensing their nervousness, she calmly explained EVERYTHING she was doing and assured them that nothing was going to hurt. She took her time with both of them and was very thorough in explaining the results of the exam to me. Since then, my wife and I have also became patients of Johnson Eye Care and are very satisfied with the professionalism and service we receive. read more
