I've rented over 50 trucks from U-Haul at other locations (Quincy, Weymouth, Hyde Park) and never had a single problem until I had the misfortune of dealing with Xander, the "manager" here. Xander tried to blame me for tire damage that was clearly pre-existing. He even claimed he couldn't rent the truck to anyone else because the wheel was so bad it would "cause an accident" and was "not drivable." Yet I had just driven that same truck for 23 miles without a single issue, it drove perfectly fine. If it was really that unsafe, why was it rented out in the first place? His story doesn't add up. Instead of conducting any kind of fair investigation, Xander just kept repeating, "the tire is damaged," as if that proved anything. That's not an investigation that's laziness and deflection. U-Haul's checkout process has always focused on the body of the truck, not the tires. Nowhere does it say customers are required to photograph tire wear. Yet Xander ignored common sense and chose to stick me with damage that obviously wasn't mine. This wasn't just bad service, it was dishonest, contradictory, and unprofessional. As a loyal customer who has trusted U-Haul for years, I've never been treated this poorly. U-Haul should be embarrassed to have someone like Xander managing one of their locations. Rent here at your own risk and if you do, document every inch of the truck, because this branch clearly looks for ways to blame customers instead of taking accountability.

When I first brought it to their attention, I had noticed it had damaged a piece of furniture, but didn't seem to have been damaged beyond that. I asked who I should contact and the woman at the front was nice enough, but said No one was going to do anything. I left a voicemail for the manager, April and never heard back. About a year later, we were leaving the unit and went to get the rest of our stuff. This is what we noticed all of the mice droppings and further water damage to our property. We brought it again to the attention of the woman at the front desk, who was on speakerphone with April at that time and again said that "they ain't gonna do nothing" but to call back next week. I followed up and spoke with April who said that she would get back to me no later than Wednesday, but have not heard back since. Despicable. I have over $3500 in damage to property that went straight in the trash. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau, and I am also filing a complaint with the Attorney General. 8 years ago when I used Burkhardt Movers, I had the most positive moving experience possible…read more Fast forward to 2023, and I wondered if they maintained their excellence. The bottom line is that you shouldn't waste time looking around, just use Burkhardt. One of the owners David came a week before the move, gave me a reasonable estimate and was incredibly personable. Then yesterday they sent two guys (Morgan and Kyle) who were absolutely tremendous. Sometimes you never know what you're getting with movers, but these two guys were courteous, listened to make sure that things were done the way I wanted, and they let me know on multiple occasions that they were dedicated to making sure that the job was done the way I wanted. And to make it even better, they were also focused on being efficient which meant that the move went smoothly and quickly without any feeling that they were cutting corners. It wasn't until later that I found out that Morgan is also a Burkhardt, and it gives me confidence that this company is going to be around for a long time. Moving is usually an emotional affair, but Burkhardt Movers were so fantastic that the sadness of the move was quickly replaced by gratitude for how pain-free they made the move. Thank you Burkhardt Movers!

My friend about was looking for mover recommendations when I told her about my horrible experience…read morewith this company, She said I should warn others, so here I am. I had used this company years ago in the early 2000's and had a good experience. However, the time I used them again a few years ago was a nightmare, One of the owners came to my apartment to give me an estimate. I was getting rid of most of my furniture because it was old and/or broken. So basically all I had to move was a bedroom set, a couch, and some boxes. He quoted me two people because I did not have a lot to move. In fact, when I used them before I only had two people because I did not have a ton of furniture but much more than I had this time. Anyway, imagine my surprise when on moving day THREE people showed up. One of them said to me that they didn't have much work that day. Oh so I am supposed to pay for that? They know they have you though because moving is stressful enough without an argument. Plus, I stupidly thought it would go faster. WRONG! They were so slow that even with three of them there would be long gaps between getting furniture. I went outside at one point and saw the three of them just hanging out on the truck. So finally when everything was done I said ok I will meet you at the new place. One of them said, we have to stop at the office real quick. I get to my new place, and it took them over an hour and a half to arrive. I called their cell phone at one point because they had given me the number, but of course they did not answer. So when they finally showed up and moved me in, they way overcharged me. At least a third more than what I was quoted. I was so tired and worn out that I just paid it. I had to return to work the next day so it took me a while to unpack. That's when I started to notice that I was missing things, jewelry, handbags, designer sunglasses, china from my Grandmother, a huge jar full of change, clothes etc. The problem was i could not prove any of it. I also stupidly used bankers boxes so I did not seal them because I have never had a mover steal from me. One of the movers even said to me that I should not have used them! I was too stupid to realize that the reason they took so long to get to my new place was because they were going through my stuff to see what valuables they could take. I am still heartbroken because some of the things they took were family heirlooms which really only had sentimental value. Please do not hire these people at any price! I wish I had brought them to court, and I still might. Anyway, I am hoping I can spare someone else from their thievery.

Aight, here's the run down…read more As any normal person would be, I'm skeptical af. I'm giving you the keys to my car with a loaded truck full of my personal valuables, and expecting you to give it back to my thousands of miles away with everything in tact. Skepticism aside, I took the chance with these folks and they made the process incredibly easy. The reason why I went with CCLDM, is because they allowed me 100lbs in the trunk of my car to pack whatever. My situation was interesting, cause no moving company would take my stuff cause I didn't have enough stuff to make the trip. Therefore, that 100lbs in the trunk really saved me. Communication was excellent. The email response was excellent. Everything was great. I had a follow up phone conversation with John, one of their representatives, just now to ask how the service was, and I really appreciate them doing that. I put a lot of value into communication, and they held up their end of the bargain. If you're looking to ship your car or ship your things, give these folks a call.

These guys are honestly one of the most professional companies I have worked with in any capacity. They showed up exactly on time on pick up day, and proceeded to quickly, but meticulously pack the furniture (including some unwieldy unconventional items like a huge turtle tank) with moving blankets and other materials. Everything was packed up and catalogued in a matter of hours. The apartment was left spotless. Since I was moving out of Orlando right after Hurricane Irma, I was naturally worried that stuff would get stuck in the infrastructural mess that followed, but to my surprise it ended up arriving promptly on the promised date. The entire time it was in transit, I was kept up to date by a very friendly customer relations agent that was assigned to me directly. The delivery crew was just as friendly and professional as the pick up crew, carefully unpacking all of my belongings and placing them where they needed to go. Overall, I had an amazing experience with these guys and will definitely be using them again and recommending them to all my friends.
