I rented at extra space in Santa Ana on 4th street im extremely disappointed bc Austin was harassing me day one when I began renting from ExtraSpace Austin wasn't employed there everything was going great then as Austin was hired on OMG this youngster is a monster all he did was accusing me of vaping and my partner not wearing a shirt it was so hot like 87 degrees my partner has mental health issues & im a lil lady 5ft i have work injuries i couldn't move all my things by myself Austin new my situation all he did was make my life a living hell.. i was terrified & Austin did not care .. warning the public DONT RENT at this facility it's a trick they make u feel like they are nice NOT it's a trick once ur in U pay all ur first month rent after that the threats begin THEY ARE PEDDY asf one month 2 month in now they threaten to throw u out! I had NO one to help me move my couches and frigerator I moved them to the front while I found a truck bc U-Haul wound help me bc I had chime & Cash App they refused to take my money TRUST I tried.. mind u Austin is watching not giving 2 about it .. it was a nightmare people.. and the worst part my couches & frig were stolen.. . Watch out for this storage unit in Santa Ana. It's called Extra Space Storage on 5 th & Sullivan. Yesterday my brother's storage unit got robbed and something seems very off. This for sure had to be an inside job/someone was watching. No one else's storage was robbed and to enter the facility you MUST put a code to get in. Management was rlly no help and claimed they couldn't show us video footage. Wouldn't rent here! read more

Stay away from this RAT INFESTED place. My stuff was ruined and I only had it here for about 4 months in between moves. I didn't have any food items stored in my things. When I was moving out I noticed droppings every where. Then as I was digging deeper and deeper there was one nest after another in bags of clothing, blankets and my couch. Everything was trashed. Rat poop and pee everywhere!! When I talked to the front about their rodent problem the guy shrugged his shoulders and said "oh the rats love building their nests in blankets." That was it, no apologies no insurance claims--nothing. Wish I had read the reviews before moving my stuff here. Just stay away unless you want the same misfortune. read more

Called and Jane took the message and reopen my case after 2 calls and 2 messages Patty the District MANAGER called me back. She was really rude and sarcastic, I told her about how they can help me with my case and she answered we are not responsible for any of your belongings look at the contract that you signed, and it's fine if you want to go to small claims. Found a 10 x 10 unit on the website for a decent price. Went in to the office and found out that (1) the unit requires an app run from a smartphone to open the lock. Another unit with a standard lock is over $100 more than the price seen on the website. It sure smells like bait and switch to me. Will not use. There are better choices. read more

SAVE YOURSELF. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS LOCATION!!!! It's one thing after another here with this place. They are super nice to you when you first show up to sign up and then the nonsense starts. They send you a tiny post card notice informing you that they are doing $80 increases to your monthly rental, effective within 10 days from the notice. You have to accept the increases. When you ask to speak to a manager, they say the manager isn't in. If your credit card number changes and the autopay doesn't go through, they charge a 20% late fee per month!!!! Over $31 late fee! Which they won't even offer to waive, just once, even though the failed payment was because of the credit card company sending out a new card (with the chip). Left a message, AGAIN, today for a manager to call back. Will update if they call back and do the right thing. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!! read more

There are huge RATS in the storage rooms here. They made a nest in my belongings and ruined all of my furniture. There was rat poop, fur, pee and stench ALL OVER!!! I was horrified, they did nothing about it and stated that the insurance they FORCE us to purchase does not cover it. I had to throw most of my furniture away. The reason we put our items in storage and agree to pay a huge monthly fee for it is because these are VALUABLE items. I'm not sure if I'm more upset that my items were ruined or the fact that they offered to do absolutely NOTHING about it. Not a credit, a reimbursement, an APOLOGY, NOTHING!!! I will never ever give these people my business again. I do not recommend this place at all unless you want free rat poop and urine smelling items. BTW we ran into a guy that was also complaining about the rats- he said one actually fell on his neck--EEK!!! read more

Do not rent here they say they send you a letter before raising the rent rate which they never do, and say they raise the rent because the market rates going up! they dont check shit, I have checked other storage facilities and their prices are way lower than this!I got this unit 7 months ago and rent went up 2 times in those 7 months. they contact you to take your money but they cant contact you to let you know about changes . They dont send shit to let you know ! they will say oh we sent a letter on this date to your address we have it in our system. Bullshit !!!! bad service, is always closed when I go pay my unit , take more than 1 hr lunch, they dont come back at the time they say .Feb 10 2018, they raised the rates again I just cant believe it went from 97 dllrs I used to pay to 157 dlls . Awful privacy settings. I receive monthly emails from this Extra Storage regarding an upcoming due date and thank payment emails for one of their customers there. I have never held a unit there before or know the individual. I have called and emailed them on several occasions to inform them of the mistake, to which they promise to fix but within a few weeks I get a new email. read more

i rented a unit in santa ana about six months ago, the first day i purchased a lock from the manager whom virbaly told me while pointing at her name tag, and ! i'm the manager. !! upon first greeting, she told me ( if you find your lock, i'd told her i had a lock and would look for it, she told me, i'll be happy to give you your $16.00 dollars back if you find it, we'll i did, long story short, i went into the office, she grined and laughed at me and said, do you have a receipt,? she knew that she hadn't given me a single shred of paper upon leaving after paying 74.00 dollars. i checked on line and sure enoff the $16.00 wasn't on my bill or anywhere, ? i called corporate and she gave the 16.00 back. the reason i'm writing this review is because of what she did after giving it back. !! that girly came after me, verbaly driving up on,her little golf cart, you can't be blocking other units, i said what ? in disbelief because not only was i parked the exact same way every one else parks ! but there wasn't a car, truck, bicycle, or a person even !! on that entire isle when she drove up all 7 times in three months. i called corporate three times and she finally stopped telling me that, most likely because i was so upset.! she didn't stop there, i'm a cancer patient and i have severe c o p d/ chronic pulmonary desease, and i must rest a few minutes when i need to, that manager rode up to my unit and verbal told me, i could not sit, or rest, and she told me i had to be physically had to be moving at all times. extra space is a horrible establishment and i wouldn't rent a unit there or recommend them to a single person. thank you. cinthia from orange county. read more
