My experience with this Extra Space storage started really great. The people I dealt with were very helpful and went above and beyond to help me. I rented a unit and told them I need it for 3 months and 3 to 5 days only in the fourth month. They told me that would not be a problem and will charge me for however days I need it in the final month based on the monthly fee adjusted for the days used. When I went to check out on the 3rd of the month, they had already taken out the payment for the entire month and told me they will NOT refund me for the 27 days of the month I am not using the storage unit. I was told that it's in the rental agreement, which was not mentioned to me when I first rented the unit and was reassured that I will only pay for the days used. Deceptive tactics. I give credit where its due. Thats why 2 stars and not one so I will start with the good. The company over the phone which is not the same reps when you go to the facility are nice and know how to be patient with you and give you the best deal they can. I have found competing prices elsewhere though just a little farther from my location. I came into the facility very kindly asking to speak with the manager that was given to me by the rep over the phone. She wasnt available so I went forward with offering my hand to the rep that wanted to help me. Now I will make disclosures. I definitely understand personal space and I am not much of a handshaker myself so a denial is not a problem. I could proceed but this man named Paul ignored my handshake and just was like how can I assist. I told him well I was looking for the manager and he persisted that she was not around and he wanted to assist me even though he denied my hand and didnt give me a reason why. So I carried along saying I will come back when manager there. Came back and this laday was a witch. She was on the phone and I said I will wait patiently she denied me saying that Paul could help juggling with me and a phone call and I said we can schedule and she denied access to her. So now I got this guy that is tryna be robotic with me and this lady being nasty with me where she started implying I could go elsewhere for services. I said no knowing she did not have reason to deny me service and worked with another employee. The grunt workers are actually kind. They assisted but with reservation because of their leadership. I end off with this horrible situation of them cutting me off 10 days before my end of the month came. Now I emptied my unit and it saved me a trip and phone call but I really think they just didnt want to see my face, but what they did is wrong. Just because they seen I had no more things inside and no lock on my unit... I paid for the whole month and they cut me off aprox 10 days early! Yeah this place has garbage customer service. There is another story I could tell you about the manager not wanting to key me in knowing I was a consumer and making me go through the process and Paul closing the gate behind me sto stop me from tailgating (I know its wrong to tailgate) but its the spirit these people were about was not of Yah and were of darkness. Go to Uhaul and/or make the extra few miles of drive if you have any inkling a situation like this would happen. Its what I should of did in the beginning and I learned to listen to my instincts about a manager now. Shoulda just took her advice and left early. read more

2023 I rent a storage and canceled same day. my hubby and i yesterday set up to rent from extra space and we were told they couldn't rent to me. I asked why, the young lady working stated that extra storage call police on me. so i'm thinking oh my, have i been identity theft. i even went far as writing the manager of extra syorage for the police report or something. so i checked my email for 2013 and yes i rented CONTACTLESS. Never going to the storage. i have all the emailed that proves i never visit but canceled. i even got a email asking me if i moved out when i never moved in and money was given back. extra store has faulty info on me. I couldn't and still in disbelief.. how can this company do that slander. i conduct myself as a women, mother, wife, and self respect. the space itself is not bad, we were OK with our original price that we signed for but after renting our storage unit for almost a year now we've had our price increased every month and are now paying more than double for some reason. When I checked online, they're still renting our same size unit for the same price we signed for they're just charging us more. I've also noticed rat or mice poop in my unit which is disgusting. We were storing extra kitchenware and one time when we were checking on our unit we noticed a bunch of broken glass on the floor. I don't know how that glass could have broken, because it wasn't us. This place kind of feels like they're scamming us with all of these price increases and unreliable safety of our items. Why are we paying so much for such low quality service. R A T S!!!! It was fine at first , normal storage with good online prices but they raised the price from $60 to about $130 ish . Which I did not expect at ALL so I opened another unit at the same location with my partner ..only to slowly notice rat dropping around the storage which I guess makes sense because it's outside with "indoor " units . I have drawers of clothes in my storage and when I went to open one ...RATS running out my clothes and ran into the other units ! I advised the front desk which we went to go check out my storage and as we were speaking about it another rat comes crawling out of the storage unit across us and into the next one over ! They told us they could not do anything besides call pest control and we were told we CANNOT be moved storage units due to the rats having their scent on our belongings and contact their insurance if anything was chewed up/pooped on. They also told us we could just move storages which is what I am doing. read more

Buyer beware. This storage unit is in my neighborhood and I would have loved to support the business long term. However, they offer no contracts to lock in the price for any extended period of time. They also regularly raise the rates immediately after their initial sign-on promotion ends and typically on a monthly basis. I have adapted to small increases here and there over the years, but I just received notice of a 67% increase one day before my payment was due. Although they consider it perfectly ethical to give their customers one days notice of a significant increase, they require at least a 10 days notice to move out, so there is no way that I could have avoided the higher bill. It is also disappointing that this significant increase appears to have been a result of a second much more expensive/competing storage facility that moved into the neighborhood. When I initially compared the pricing of my existing storage at Extra Space to what the new company was offering, I was thrilled to see that Extra Space was much more cost effective and was hoping this might lead to more competitive pricing between the two. But instead Extra Space seams to have taken the opportunity to increase the rates to their loyal customers, rather then make the new company reduce their costs in order to compete. Another very sad result of the world we are living in these days. read more

Do yourself a favor and do not rent here. Everything here is unreliable from the service to the lift elevator that failed to operate when we moved in and had to move out. They do not have any emergency service to assist nor any onsite property manager that cares or is available especially when you need to move out. DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION. I recently had several items stolen from my unit, totaling ~$400. When I filled out the police report, the officers who arrived mentioned that they were just there a few days prior for another burglary. The strange thing about my situation is that the lock was COMPLETELY intact and worked fine. I only noticed things were missing once I started looking for items. There is NO sign of forced entry. Once a detective was assigned and we spoke, he mentioned that burglaries at this location are common, and A LOT are with intact locks with no signs of forced entry. The only way it happened is if someone was a REALLY good lock picker or someone on staff who has access to the unit keys. He recommended getting my belongings out of there IMMEDIATELY. He also mentioned that even IF they get access to security footage, the quality of the videos they provide is so poor that it's useless. The police have told this location to add cameras to the building hallways (there are none) and to replace the current cameras with higher quality ones, but there has been no action. I am appalled that this is a preventable issue, but they have not made any changes. I am removing my items immediately. read more

I can't remember the gentleman's name who is at the front and helps with the gate but he was extremely helpful it was my first time there and he helped me find my unit and help me get into the gate he was very polite the facility is very clean once you locate your unit everything else from there is easy and the breeze I highly recommend it I did not need a lot of extra space I believe I got a 4x4 and it's even more than enough than what I actually need but I appreciate the extra room read more

Updating this please do not park your trailer/boat/rv here. We tried finding another spot after our last round of break in issues and anything that was available was triple the cost so we put ourselves on the waitlist at some places and thought that management might address this issue and we could wait it out. (Side note we did call to discuss as asked in the response below and basically the person said ok I'll note this and we will call you back and never got a call back.) We went today to get our camper for a weekend trip and our trailer has damage to the door and door frame from someone trying to pry it open. When my husband spoke with the person on site he said "you pay for a parking spot not security this is your problem". While I do understand this it is not how you handle the situation. Consumer beware. The seemly cheaper price comes with a very likely possibility of expensive damage. read more

This has been the worst storage space ever. and I've used my share of storage facilities. from the beginning, the units are not well numbered/lettered and the maps are incorrect. the first time I went I was unable to find my unit and was wandering all over trying to find it. Finally, a very nice man who had a unit there awhile took pity on me and helped me find it. it was not in their mapping system at all. Then there is the problem of never having carts. EVERY time I have gone I have had to hunt all over the facility to find a cart. also, the facility is VERY hot and stuffy, there is no air conditioning and no ventilation. There is also no lighting in the units, so I would have to use my phone or bring a flashlight. They have been doing work on the place for over a month, so 2 of the elevators have been out, making access to my unit very difficult. and we were never given any warning or direction. There is no access to the office from inside. if you want to try to find somebody, and frankly, I have never seen anyone working there, you'd have to call. Finally, after months of this excruciatingly bad service, they doubled our fee!!! when we went to empty the unit so we could leave this crappy place, ALL the elevators were out and the stairs were locked. and we could not get in, so they charged us another month. Stay as far away from this place as possible! read more

Beware of working with this business. When I signed up I was unaware their lease terms are month to month and this allows them to arbitrarily raise their prices quite significantly. My rate was raised from $123 to $237 and they simply notified me via postcard without reason. This is roughly a 100% increase month over month after my belongings were all jampacked into one of their units. Their business model is predatory and I strongly discourage anyone from doing business with this organization. I will be reporting to BBB as well. read more

This is absolutely the WORST storage facility that I have ever used. After renting the unit for a reasonable rate they more than doubled it a few months later. Jeremey the manager is horrible to work with and compeltely unprofessional. He refuses to help customers and makes the process as difficult as possible. He refuses to ever remove any fees as a courtesy. He cut my lock off without any notice of when it would be cut then charged me for it then charged me for it. I would NEVER recommend this storage company. He lied several times by telling that items were in my contract that are NOT in the contract. He is not at all courtesous he insteads becomes beligerant and rude. The customer service is the worst I have EVER experienced. read more

COMPLETELY DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES. I just got a notice that the rent on my space is going up by 50% after renting for 3 months. I called thinking an error had been made... but then was told that since the units are rented month to month, they evaluate what the going rate is and increase every month if they are currently renting units for more money. When I moved into the space, they did not tell me that my rent could go up every month. The person on the phone said that while people are signing their original agreement, some ask more questions and they will find out that they prices go up regularly... BUT the people who work there do not offer up that detail, unless a customer specifically asks that question. It is stunning to me that they haven't been reported for unethical businesses practices. Now my options are to either pay their demands, or spend money on another rental truck and movers to relocate my belongings. I feel like I've been scammed. read more

Don't be deceived, once they got your stuff they will jack up the price as much and as often as they can. After you spend your time moving your stuff in, they think they can just charge more for no reason. The way they do it is worse. You will get email notifications once a month about payment but not about pay increases. They try to slide that under. Very bad way to business. This is unacceptable, I would advise the entire community to punish this behavior by taking your business elsewhere. read more

Best price around my area. I LOVE the green color of the building. Be aware that theres an insurance fee on top of the monthly rent. But if your renter's insurance covers a self storage then tell the office so you wont get charge for it. Storage units dont have light in them so bring your own lamp, flashlight or sensor light.
