Fast and easy. experience good customer service. SiARA helped out as soon as I arrived gave me a thorough tour. Very satisfied customer.

staff is amazing, went above and beyond to help me get set up. Aaron was very kind, got me the best unit he could at the best price.

Phone registration was friendly and clear, and the office was welcoming and helpful. Thanks A1!

Arrived at A-1 storage in mission valley, the awesome thing is that Youre able to reserve your unit with no money down! That's unheard of. What A1 is the customer service from Claudia and Jessica, they both are an amazing team answering all questions with patience and so eager to help. Amazing experience from these two. I got the 10x25 unit and it's such a great deal by far first 3 month @ 50%, really??? Thank you so much you girls for an amazing experience when moving itself is already stressful. read more

We rent two storage units here! Great service and clean facilities. We've been here for two years now and we have no complaints.

Staff is friendly and helpful at Friars Rd location. They guided me to the correct unit size and assured me of the policies.

I have been using the A-1 self-storage at 1501 Frazee Road for more than 15 years. Recently, after more than 10 years in a unit I decided to get a larger unit. I went to the office and Lulu helped me find exactly what I needed for a desirable price. I have been in the office multiple time and the staff have always maintained professionalism in handling my requests and/or issues. I have also had storage at nearby locations with other businesses and A-1 has been the best by far. That is why I will likely continue using this centralized, easy to access, secure location for another decade or more. read more

Very good price and discounts as well. Easy to get around the units. Safe and reliable for short and long periods.

The facility is clean but the front entry gate is always broken. There are alot of homeless people who hang outside both entry gates at night, so I would be careful visiting at night. read more

Mayra was super helpful, quickly showed us storage unit available and made the process super quick and easy. Very transparent with the process and made it a breeze! Excited to finally have e a secure place to store my goods. read more

They were wonderful people. They helped me out with 10 mins before closing. They were easy to work with. And helped me out a lot.

Straight forward process to rent. Friendly people and fair rates. Convenient and easy.

I rented a storage unit at this location in January. It has not even been 4 months. My rate was $59 per month. I was shocked to learn they raised my rental fee 39%!!!!! This is OUTRAGEOUS. The condition of these storage units are subpar. Any company that pulls this kind of a greedy stunt does not deserve anyone's business. This can't' be legal. DO NOT rent from these people. read more

I've had a storage here for about 7 years, they have great customer service team. They are super helpful and I would highly recommend this facility. Super clean and central! read more

Lulu assisted us today with closing our unit and she was very patient in answering all of our questions. Highly recommend.

Fraud! This place will charge you more than you agreed to and won't send you "proof" that you signed. They charge you more and more with no evidence to back it up. Lulu at the office and Robert the area manager are no help. STEER CLEAR FROM THIS PLACE!!!!! Sure $29 bucks isn't that much more but just put that into context. $29 by x units x facilities = millions of bs profit. STAY AWAY. read more

Please review pricing and special On-line offers $$$ On-line offers change daily - Requested On-line offer be honored, Area manager returned my called and explained it was a Sunday and he will make this quick (twice) and will not honor price after price quoted has changed (disrespectful authoritarian tone). Would have rated one star, however ALL other staff (female) interactions at this location and corporate office were professional and courteous. Unsure why the area manager (male) has a position that requires him to actually work on Sundays? read more

Check in to get a free lock for your unit. Ugh, storage. We're in the middle of a move, temporarily downsizing to get out of our condo to get it ready to sell. We've lost more than half of our square footage in doing so, which means that we don't have room for most of our stuff. It's a necessary evil, but at least the people we've encountered here have been friendly and helpful. Let me tell you a story. We'd gone in to view a unit and see the area. We were taken to an available unit in the size we wanted, and chatted with one of the guys working that day. He told me I could check in on Yelp to get a free unit lock, which I did. Back at the office, he had us review and sign the contracts for the unit rental, and we were on our way. Fast-forward to the day of our move. We had the movers go from our condo to the storage facility, and asked that they take a peek at the unit to make sure all our stuff would fit. They suggested we get a bigger unit. *sigh* Into the office we went, asking if there was a way we could upgrade the unit we'd just locked in for something slightly bigger. Of course they were able to get us a bigger unit, also on the second floor, that same day. It's a good thing they were able to accommodate us, because our junk would never have made it into the original one. So far, so good here. We do need to go back to undo some of the storage mistakes made by the movers, but that'll come another day. Later. I'm taking off one star because they do add on a $12/month fee for insurance, which you cannot opt out of, and which is not advertised in their online pricing. Just wanted to point that out, in case someone is on a budget and is looking into this facility. read more

Great service from Jessica and Lulu today. Was able to get a unit right near a lift for a great price. Don't hesitate to come here for your storage needs. read more

This facility is super clean , safe and the staff are fantastic n very very helpful! I keep my things here and I feel very good knowing there's surveillance cameras as well as a 3 point security system once you enter definitely worth the extra money! Worst experience ever with this A-1 site, no reliable customer service, they expect you to follow up with them instead of them following up with you. Like we don't have nothing to do! NORMAL PEOPLE WORKS AND HAVE BUSY LIFE !!! I have had storage on other locations with A-1 and other provider, they have always being on the lookout and ready to help. NOT HERE! Water got into my almost $300 unit through the ceiling even though the unit has a 2nd unit above. I reported the issue to the office, they look at it, they took pictures and nothing has being done until now. They were not ready for the rain or the damage after the rain. You better have renters insurance ready to call them because the girls in the office do not know what the crap to do and would not follow up with you. If they follow up with you will be so you can follow up with them. Yeah, now let's play on the phone! Not that it rains often in San Diego. But, following with you AFTER A MONTH OF RAINS just so they can offer something to cover your stuff, is ridiculous. On top of everything, they would not have answers but, will be full of questions. In conclusion; WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. EXTRA SPACE STORAGE IS ACROSS THE STREET , GO CHECK IT OUT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GO THROUGH A SIMILAR SITUATION!! All walls are full of humidity that will get into your storage, into your furniture, into your boxes, into everything. read more

Flaviola and her manager at A1 on 3200 National City Blvd provided exceptional customer service for our first-time experience with A1. The facility was clean and easy to access right off Hwy-54. We arrived when they opened at 9am, and were signed and done by 9:20 :) We'll be back for more! read more

Great customer service and very convenient location. We were able to get the first month free because of a promotion however I wish the regular monthly prices were lower. For the size though , an 8X10 and $202.00 a month including insurance , that's not too bad compared to other companies. read more

The staff was extremely helpful during this move in process. They even helped me save money during this move and found me the perfect storage unit for my stuff. The location is convenient and clean and safe. read more

Jessica is the bomb. Very friendly and professional intake process. Very neat and clean facility.

I showed up with my entire classroom and Jessica was awesome!!! She was honest and gave me the best offer. I was very worried about cost and she advised me to go up the street & check prices there, she cared that much that I had the most cost-effective storage space! Super patient, really truly cares what's best for you. The storage units here are super clean, it's not super hot inside either, so you can go in and put your things away without getting too sweaty and gross, and your fragile stuff and batteries, etc. aren't in danger of melting and getting messed up. I love the location too, super close to our house and Costco/Fashion Valley, so places we frequent. Great place to store your stuff! Also, they have better prices than all the other places nearby! read more

Friendly and helpful service. They showed me two different units, so I could see the sizes. They drive you there in a golf cart. And they have a big lot. Gaby has been very helpful. read more

Best storage in mission valley! Everyone is very helpful, great units, secure location

Best Team Ever. Sierra helped me today transfer my storage unit. She was so efficient and went through the whole contract terms with me and made sure I understood everything. The whole team and she's specially was so pleasant. The office AC was not working and its 100 degree outside yet, she was not complaining and pleasant and so helpful. Thankful for this experience. I was gonna move out of my unit since price is high, they made sure I can find good deal within their space. Also, with the great team and customer service, I will never change my storage company. read more

Used A-1 storage for three years without incident. The initial set up process was seem less. The facilities were ways clean, rodent and bug free. My possessions were safe and secure at this facility. I am giving 4 stars only because in the past two prices did start to go up. But you pay for the convenience and security of storing your belongings. read more

Great facilities, friendly, and professional staff. They were able to assist me right on the spot and took care of my needs.

Great prices. Clean facilities. Staff is always patient, friendly, and helpful - in person and on the phone.

The fact that there are no available carts like other places is a huge negative and very inconvenient. This place appears to be packed with handymen basically working out of the storage units here. Customer service? There is none after hours, so no one to get help from. So annoying. Instead of moving my stuff I'm here complaining in yelp. Very bad experience. Note to management: put more carts out! read more

We were looking for a storage place ASAP!!!! Well let me tell you this place is awesome!!!! They're customer service is EXCELLENT!!!! We got a storage Saturday and ended up needing another storage...sooo we got another one Sunday. IT'S super easy and fast to get a storage here all they ask for is ID that's it, no deposit, no down payment just simple and straightforward. They do require you to have renters insurance but hey this is an extra fee to secure your belongings. They also take the time to show you to the unit! The units are clean with well ventilated areas for the inside units and great lighting too. For upper level they have an elevator with a cart, very convenient. This place is recommended 100% read more

A-1 Self Storage - Inside unit upper level. - Self Storage Near Me - San Diego, California

I found this storage company here on yelp and mentioned to this them. They failed to mention there was a yelp coupon offer though. Guess that's my bad. The small unit ended up costing about $70 a month. The people that work here are very nice but they failed to tell me when I signed up and made my first payment it's not on autopay. I was expected to make a payment every month. Which is fine but they need to inform the customers of this. Apparently you need to ask for an autopay form. So they called me on a Sunday morning and told me I had a late fee. After a short discussion Kaela said she would waive the fee. This whole conversation could have been avoided if they would have just asked me if I wanted auto pay when I signed up. I never saw an invoice when payment was due either. The place it's self is clean and seems safe. If you don't have a cylinder lock they charge $10. read more
