This company went above and beyond to settle my mom in a retirement community in La Mesa. The movers were about a half day late, but they got someone there to supervise that night. The movers left the futon in pieces and they found a handy person to put it together for us! They communicated constantly via text and calls to make sure they everything was in order. My mom loved the set of her apartment! This was a very challenging move for my 79 year old mother (and our family too). Margaret is amazing. This year my family was faced with the sudden need to find assisted living for my mother and memory care for her husband. They lived in Ramona and I live(d) in San Jose, far from Ramona. How was I going to move my mother and her husband's personal items from Ramona to the assisted living facility in Escondido, then sort and send the personal items in her home to family members, then figure out what do with the rest so that we could sell her home....all while not living in the area? I needed a miracle. Margaret and her team are that miracle. Initially, Margaret recognized that I had a need to hire a Health Care Manager to understand and monitor Mom and her husband's health care since I was out of town. She recommended Jackie (Jacqueline) Bougie of Searchlight Healthcare Advocates. We hired Jackie and we never looked back. Jackie is fantastic. Margaret, Alex, and their team met with my mother over the course of 3 weeks and selected items that would go to her new home, items that would be shipped to family, and items that would be donated afterwards. [Yes, Margaret handled the management of shipping the items to five different family members too!!] Margaret stayed in close contact with me but always made sure that she cared for my mother as the client. She was patient, methodical, very organized, responsible, and thorough. I say responsible because Margaret recognized any issue that came up to be something to be completed and communicated, whether I noticed or not. She made absolutely sure that everything she promised to me was completed 100%. Most interesting was that, because of the nature of what we did together, and because of Margaret and her staff's personal styles, the whole experience felt very personal. I feel like we should be exchanging Christmas cards. So, I have to add a special description. This project was really two phases: Moving Mom into the facility and clearing the remaining items from her home (shipping and donating). In phase I, Margaret and Alex were very personal with my mother, very patient. One of the first things she did was photograph the room my Mom would be moving into, then she drew a layout of the room with the proper sizes and dimensions. Throughout the 3 weeks, Margaret and my Mom would review how and where furniture and personal items would go in her new room, which allowed Margaret to help my mother with what could and couldn't go with her. This set my Mom up very well with what to anticipate would be in her new home, so there were no surprises. On the day of the big move, I spent the day with my mom at the facility keeping her busy and doing various things. Around 5 or 6pm, Margaret called us up and we wheeled Mom into the room. It looked amazing. Every piece of furniture in place, all the personal items in drawers and on shelves... I was stunned. My Mom was so happy. So if you are looking for a team you can trust to move your loved one into their new facility and want the transition to be something to be enjoyed and celebrated, hire Margaret and her team and you won't be sorry. Will NEVER use them again- completely disorganized and dishonest. We were billed upfront and paid for the job to have them go through a few storage units and take pictures for MaxSold and they didn't start the job until 2 months later. The whole process was like pulling teeth and so stressful, not to mention that the work that was done was disgraceful. The photos were horrible quality, plus there were several boxes of valuable china that was not photographed. Margaret posted the photos to the auction before consulting with us and the auction was a huge flop because the pictures were such a mess and a huge chunk of items were not even included. We had to go back and forth with her until she finally agreed to restart the auction and go back and take all new pictures. (We ended up outbidding several of the units because they were not doing well because the pictures still sucked after she "fixed it") The whole situation was handled so unprofessionally and we were so stressed and felt completely taken advantage of. She took her check when we first hired the company to do the job and then dragged her feet for TWO MONTHS before starting the job, then her employee botched the pictures and she was nowhere in sight! She blindly posted the photos and was not overseeing the job at all and tried to take the lazy way out. Save yourself the stress and use another company who actually cares about the work they are doing and take pride in doing a good job. Next Phase is a complete and total joke. read more

Next phase move assistance was a life saver. My elderly parents moved from Northern California to Fallbrook, to be closer to my wife and I. My mother has Alzheimer's, and the confusion of having a new home, coupled with boxes everywhere and the house in disarray is not good for someone with this disease. We needed to get everything unpacked and in its place, pictures on the walls in 2 days. I didn't think it was possible even with Next Phase helping. I was wrong. Margaret came in with 5 other ladies, and had it 95% done in a day and a half. Not only was everything unpacked and put away, we were amazed at how they knew where to put everything without us telling them. There were just a couple of things we had to move around later just to customize to our specific needs, but very few. The moving truck came on Friday, and by Sunday, it looked as if my parents had lived there all along. My mother started developing Alzheimer's and I needed to move her from her home in San Diego to a facility closer to me in San Jose. At that time she also brought in a moving company to estimate what it would take to move the entire house. We were not moving the whole house at that time. Two years later, I contacted Margaret again, this time to pack and move the whole house. Again, she and her staff performed yeoman's duties to pack and move everything. Margaret even came in a day early to separate out things that didnt need to be moved. All of this was done remotely while I was in San Jose. Words cannot express our total and utter disappointment in Margaret and this company. It was a mistake for us to pay her the full amount. If we had known that as soon as Margaret received full payment, she would delay starting the job for over two months, we would have not used her. Margaret also did not tell us when we hired her that she would not be doing the job herself; she hired a brand new employee. The new employee did not do a good job on our photos and many of them were substandard. The employee was very nice, but it seemed to us Margaret just dumped all the work on this individual and did not help. Margaret also had a very arrogant attitude; when we expressed disappointment in the job, she did not reply to us herself, but had her husband do it. She did not even have the courtesy to reply to us as a professional would. 15 to 20 boxes of our items were not photographed as promised. When I called this to her attention, Margaret said she had made an "executive decison" not to bother with these items as they were not going to sell. She said no one buys china anymore. I pointed out to her that only two boxes were china, and the other boxes were fine collectibles, jewelery, antiques with the tags still on them, and as I came to realize, she did not even know what was in the boxes. Instead she had her employee photograph things like a box of pencils, a plastic laundry basket and a lot of worthless items. I had to demand she go out and finish the job. She was very resistant to do so and she cited the hot weather in east county as to why she was reluctant to finish the job. She said it was 100 degrees so this was her reason apparently to take our money and not complete the work. I had to beg her to complete the job. Our concern was not even really making money off our items but having them presented so hopefully they would end up in the hands of people who would appreciate them. The online auction got such a poor response we ended up bidding on max sold ourselves to keep most of our items rather than have them go for nothing. We may end up donating them now just to be done with it all. This experience with Next Phase was so stressful I cannot even say. If I could give zero stars here I would. We had two deaths in our family and so hired this company to take away the stress; instead, because of Margaret's terrible unprofessionalism, lack of follow -through and communication, the sad result was more anxiety and grief for our family at a very difficult time. I see the good reviews here and I can only wonder if by the time we used this company, Ms. Zamora is just burned out on what she is doing. When Grandma walked into her new apartment and saw that they had created a home- no they re-created her home of 45 years- it brought tears to our eyes. Relief, surprise and gratitude. The Gals of Next Phase deserve so much more than this review. Grandma lost her house and had to be out in two weeks. We tried to sort through a hoard of 45 plus years of stuff, but began to run out of time. On a whim I called Margaret who came out to see me THAT DAY for a consultation. After speaking with Grandma and my aunts who were helping we had difficulty coming to a hiring decision. I spoke with Margaret and she was able to work with me on a budget and time crunch, keeping me informed every step of the way. The next day Shannon and Alex came through to pack. Seven rooms. Two and a half people. 6 hours. It wasn't a half-butt job either. They were thorough, even checking the already boxed things for stability. NOTHING WAS DAMAGED!
