Charged Nearly $2,000 Over Quote -- Breach of Contract, Legal Action Pending We were quoted $4,459 for our project, which we accepted despite our budget being lower. We even cleared the entire space beforehand to help expedite their process and reduce costs. However, we were shocked to be charged over $6,400--nearly $2,000 more than agreed. We understand it's not always going to 100% reflect the quote, but there was no prior notice or written approval of extra charges. When we questioned the overage, they claimed they gave us "their most generous discount to date," which was misleading and unacceptable. We disputed the charge with American Express, but were told the final bill they gave us after the work counted as "written notice," despite no prior communication about the increase. This is unfair and contradicts their own contract terms. After consulting with an attorney, we were advised the company is in breach of contract. If they do not refund the overage and honor the original quote, we are fully prepared to take legal action. This review is a final effort to resolve the matter before going to court. The last communication I received from this company asked about a potential start date and time. I was ok with that date and time, but asked if they had anything potentially sooner so we could have some things organized and out of the way prior to our interior designers installing art, and they just never responded to me ever again. Really strange interpretation of our interactions in their response to my review. At no point was it ever communicated to me that my job was "not a fit" whether due to it being too small, large, or dates not lining up. And when I let the company know I found it odd they just never responded to me, they never explained. I went to Yelp to find some help tackling my office/craft room. It was an embarrassing mess. Totally nonfunctional. I sent pictures in and was told I'd get 3 organizers to help me. Don't know where to start with this review. If I say all I want to say it'll be too long. So in a few words, Simply Luxe changed my life. In a few visits Ryen and her team transformed my condo.
