PSA: RENT AT YOUR OWN RISK WITH THIS COMPANY This all began when I noticed several items missing out of my storage in April and filed a theft claim as a result of it. Fastforward from that in the interim there was a rate increase and a dispute filed with my bank for that reason for one payment. I was thrown immediately into a "foreclosure" situation with this storage with all kinds of fees etc to the tune of over $600 to clear it up and keep them from auctioning my items off. Mind you NONE of this I was put on any notice for. On May 24 2024 I made an online payment was made to clear the balance for $614.80 that I did NOT owe to Extra Space Storage I disputed a payment due to not getting any notice of a payment increase and this company consistently raises the cost of the rent for the same unit every 3-4 months like clockwork. Ive been storing with them over 2 years so thats quite a bit at that rate. Either way this company charged me exuberant late fees and foreclosure fees once that payment charged back and did not even bother to respond to the bank so that they could use that opportunity to steal the remaining items from my storage. On May 24 2024 spoke with Rebecca at 2pm and let her know that I was making the payment online but I do not agree with that and as a consumer I have the right to contest any purchase if Its not justified and they cannot provide me any documentation or information to support what gives them the right to polace these charges on my account without ntice. The represetnative told me the manager (Rachel) was not in which I asked for her first. The next day at 11 am on 5/25/2024 Rebecca voluntarily went back onto my account UNAUTHORIZED and reversed my payment made THE PREVIOUS day throwing me into even further delinquency and causing my amount due to rise above $800. I have proof that after I paid the $614.80 my account was reflecting due again on 6/17/24. I have screen shots of everything. Now it stating due 4/17/24 and the way I found out was just happened to check because I know how shady this company is. All of this is in retaliation for a theft claim that I filed on my unit through my insurance because im missing several valuables out of my unit and I know that theft was an inside job. I filed a police report and went through the full process which they are currently actively investigating this further. I know it was an inside job. Someone who is not even a member of management going back onto my account to single me out the next day for something you have NO control over you reversed an ONLINE payment. It doesnt get more blatant than that and the racism and discrimination is so transparent. I cant prove it yet but im working on that with outside forces. Its so convenient that this never happened until I had a claim on the unit. This is blatant discrimination and customer abuse and I wont accept it. By reversing that payment Rebecca overstepped her boundaries out of pure hate and something permanenet and legal needs to be done about that. Now the price to keep my storage has went to over $800 throwing me in a financial hardsship that I would not otherwise be in and thats the reason im filing this formal complaint and in 60 days a full lawsuit will activate against Extra Space Storage for these kinds of malicious and Deceptive Trade Practices they have been exercising. If this is happeneing to me theres no telling how many other customers this is happening to of color for sure. This is not right and if management is not willing to do something about it- which they clearly are not, I will not let up on this matter until this company is held legally responsible to the full extent the law allows for the undue financial harship and mental anguish I have been through as a result of this. Not to mention trying to prevent me from exercising my rights as a US Consumer. Thats egrigious. I have always paid my account online and with a debit card, and for some reason this time it was a problem. Once again an unspoken one because she never removed the lock off my storage after I paid on 5/24/2024 and did not want me to have a papertrail of the payment to prove exactly what im standing to prove with this lawsuit. Now she has restricted my access online to make payment. Thats a pure attempt to get into my storage and force me out because they know I have valuable items in there and an obvious attempt to steal some more. I want to get my stuff out of this storage and never do bsuiness with these conartists again and im letting the entire world know about this tramatic experience because nobody deserves this thats spending their hard earned money with ANY company. read more

There is no ac. A really bad smell on the second floor near the 400 storage spaces. The elevator is ridiculous. you have to pull on cords to close and open it. if someone forgets to close it you have to walk all the way down the stairs or up to get the elevator to open. i would have never used this place solely on the elevator if i knew ahead of time. read more

I had a until here for about 9 months. First off the staff is great to work with! Always friendly and knowledgeable. I would have scored a 5 but there were some significant issues with my unit. The first rain storm brought major leaking to my unit and damaged some furniture. Major mold. When I brought it to the attention of the manager she advised I could move units but I would have to do it myself or pay for a company to do it. In an effort to help she took $5-10 off my monthly bill. We moved out about a week ago because we are moving out of state. We found much more mold and damage, a lot of standing water. The claims process isn't bad, it was just that they was no effort to resolve the issue. It is my feeling that I paid for a unit that should have been free and clear of damages and if they couldn't provide that I should have been moved to avoid further damage. Or at least help me move. Would never rent from them again, even in another state. But again, the staff was always very nice! read more

Extra Space Storage is an exceptionally nice storage facility with equally exceptional staff. Rachel and Rebecca were attentive from the start and provided me with answers before I could ask the questions. The online registration was very user friendly and signing your contract was a breeze from the comfort of my home. When I got to the facility to get my locks, one of the ladies escorted me to my storage unit and again provided me with all the pertinent info to get in and out of the facility with ease. My experience with Extra Space Storage was 10/10! I never had any problems whatsoever. The lady that works there most of the time is SO sweet and helpful. She really does her best to go above and beyond. I searched diligently when I was looking for a storage unit and Extra Space had the lowest price by far! My unit was upstairs which in most cases would be a negative, but there is a cargo elevator that can hold thousands of pounds so moving in and out was beyond easy/fast. The facility is clean and cool at all times. They also offer military discount for active duty customers, another bonus. All in all, I have nothing but great things to say about this location and it's staff! Thank you so much for a great experience.
