I even recommended them to friends and family. Unfortunately, my recent experience was a complete disaster from start to finish. I hired Clutter again before leaving the country for a sabbatical. They showed up with only two movers for a large move, took long breaks, and couldn't complete the job. Despite offering to pay extra to hire or overtime more help, I was told that wasn't allowed and I'd need to reschedule--an impossible option, as I was flying out and giving up my apartment the next day. I ended up spending $1,000 out of pocket to move everything to a storage unit the very next day (finished 3 hours before my flight) so Clutter could pick it up from there, which they had agreed to. I left detailed instructions, made myself reachable internationally (phone, text, email, whatsapp, facetime, even my second phone), and got confirmation that I didn't need to be onsite. No one contacted me the day of pickup, yet I was charged a $200 cancellation fee. When I called to dispute it, they claimed they tried to reach me (they didn't) and refused to refund anything. The second attempt wasn't better. I appointed a family member as the point of contact and again confirmed that no one needed to be onsite. On the day of pickup, Clutter claimed they didn't have the gate code, lock combo, or unit number--we provided this over the phone. They were successfully and had even already opened the unit but then suddenly changed course and demanded someone be there physically or else they would cancel and I would be charged $200 again. I spoke to customer service while this was occurring and they said my two other separate colleagues were wrong, we need someone there now. My family member had to rush over and ended up helping move the items himself because the movers were essentially doing nothing. After weeks of stress, disorganization, poor communication, and unhelpful customer service (outsourced and seemingly disconnected), my belongings were finally stored. But the emotional toll, wasted time, and hidden costs were staggering. Bottom line: Clutter might seem cheaper up front, but the chaos, unreliability, and lack of accountability will cost you far more in the long run. What used to be an innovative service is now a disjointed, empathy-less mess. I will never use this company again and strongly advise others to stay far away. Things I foresee happening: -My storage space size will move into the next category -At the 8 month mark my rate will go sky-high -My items will return damaged. -Chris G will respond and offer to resolve this, but things will not move forward -They will retain their respectable yelp rating despite the abundance of 1 star reviews.

That's the way they do things. I went ahead and gave all my information, including my credit card number. I chose another place to rent . I never signed a contract. My intention was to hold the unit until the first and then make my decision. But this particular Public Storage chose to charge me. They never contacted me. They never asked me if I still wanted the unit. They just charged my card. This was August 1, I was told by a couple people managers that the money would be returned to me. It's now October 3 two months and two days later and I still haven't received the money back on my card. When I called about two weeks ago, I was told the money would be sent to me in the form of a check within 4 to 6 weeks. To avoid getting screwed by this company, I would definitely not rent there. The worst customer service I have ever dealt with and I was lied to at least three different occasions about when I would be getting my money back. You've been warned! So you took the money out of my account on August 1 it's now October 6. That's nine weeks that I don't have the money that I should have.

O.K. back to the Stone Age like we're at Walmart. This is a very large U-Haul rental center. I don't understand how they can't afford to fix the card reader so that tap to pay works. Then when I told the guy I only had Apple Pay, and asked if he could take my card info (I've done this before at other U-Haul locations) and he told me that he couldn't. He was completely unhelpful and his demeanor told me that if it wasn't easy for him, he didn't want to do his job. And then when I went to return it, whoever designed this complex failed to consider the size and how much equipment lives here. The return area is a joke compared to the rest of the joint. All in all at this facility, customer service just about leaves everything to be desired. The mover handed me paperwork for signature, so there's really no good excuse not to hand me my keys. Oh and his advice was to back track my road trip, maybe ide find them on the side of the road somewhere.
