I have used a lot of storage facilities and I have always had issues with the units, price or service. I am so glad to finally say that I have found a place that is clean, has fantastic service and knowledgeable staff. The pricing is less than most and they don't raise it up Al the time like smart storage. The manager Tasha is friendly and funny. I am definitely glad I switched!! read more

Tasha was amazing! She showed me a few units and we talked about what I was storing and what might be the best solution for me. After looking at a few units I went with something a bit smaller than I thought I would need which ends up saving me a little bit of money, gotta love that! I'm happy with her service and the faculty is very clean. It has great security around the facility and I feel very comfortable leaving my stuff here. I'm very happy with the service and the faculty, highly recommend this place! read more

Great convenient location !!! Was helped by a really sweet professional receptionist thank you Tasha !!!!

Central location near midtown. Lots of different size storage units, some on ground level, others are second floor, but huge (huge!) elevators and carts to get you snd your stuff there (and wide halls, good lighting). Prices are good but they raise your monthly rental fee periodically--I guess they know that you won't go to the enormous hassle of moving it elsewhere to save $5.00. But all those price increases add up. Probably the same everywhere. If I had to do it over again I would have thrown at least half the shit away. Paying to store stuff I'll probably never use again! read more

As a first time renter, I was very unaware of the best route to take. After reserving online, I was called immediately with more information. Both staff I spoke with were friendly and informative and made the process easy. They were flexible and answered all my questions. Overall, it was very easy to set it up and rent from this location. read more

I would have to say, this extra space storage has got to be one of the cleanest extra space storage. Every time I come here to check on our stuff in our unit, I would always see at least one worker cleaning the area. I see people complaining about the prices being too high. Honestly, you get what you paid for. Before I decided to go with them, I met with Jessica. She showed us around the property and answered all of our questions. She made us feel at home and assured us that our stuff will be safe here. She's a very sweet and kind lady. As for the storage unit, it was very clean! The floors were shiny. And the unit door rolls up smoothly! Compared to other storage unit we rented before, this has got to be the best. read more

Tasha was wonderful helping us find a great unit at a reasonable price. We are storing some stuff while our new house gets built and it relieved a lot of pressure. read more

I had an excellent experience storing my belongings here. Tasha is such a nice person and was always willing to answer questions. The facility is clean and I felt safe going there. It's also located at the end of a street so it's easy to get in and out without a lot of traffic. I highly recommend them for customer service and a clean facility. read more

Loved Tasha in the office, very helpful and informative. I felt genuine good old fashioned customer service. Like the fact the unit is air conditioning controlled and elevators and carts made it very convenient! I would highly recommend this site. Happy Customer read more

Extra Space Storage is great...until you find out they raise your rate more often than a Maury Povich baby-daddy episode airs. Since joining the Extra Space club a little over a year ago, my rate has gone up twice from $80 to a now whopping $92. Sure, they provide a secure, air conditioned space for my belongings, but no amount of legalese justifies raising the rate that frequently on a space that hasn't changed one iota since I signed up. The facilities are clean and safe; the service is nonexistent. It gives the impression that, while they do provide some of the most secure storage facilities, they don't care about anything beyond the bottom line. read more

I have mixed feeling about this place. The units are clean and secure but that is about it. I should of ran after the first incident. It was a Sunday and I stopped by the center to drop off some items in the unit. I was alone and ran into a man in the hallway with no pants on, fully exposed. Scared the crap out of me! I left and I told them about this the next day and they acted like I was crazy for being startled and brushed it off saying the man had mental issues. Yes, I know what a man's body part looks like..I have been married a long time and have six kids. I guess the next time I run into a man with his ding dong exposed in the middle of a hallway, in a storage facility, I should ask him if he is just mentally ill or is he a serial rapist!!!??? Cynthia claims they removed him immediately after that but I saw this same man and his wife there on several occasions. I always took my husband or sons with me after this incident. They seemed to raise our rate shortly after we moved in. Our family hit a hard spot when my husband was laid off last year. We struggled to pay but we paid what we owed. Then a couple months back things got worse and we got behind. He found another job and offered a partial payment to catch up, $250 and the remainder soon after. They sold out unit for less than what we offered to pay to catch up. We had been customers there all this time and they did this. I understand that late pays can be a pain but the situation at the time was out of our control. Cynthia the manager is okay, until today I did not have any real issues with her bur the other agent "T" was rude. read more

Tasha Irby the manager is so great! She always is there to answer any questions and helps out in every way she can. My brother has used this facility for over 10 years and he says she's the best manager they've had. He doesn't have yelp so he asked me to review for him. Now that's a good recommendation! I've met her too in helping him move units there. Definitely a top notch place that keeps his belongings clean and safe. : ) read more

I take issue with any business that says you can cancel at any time but then will not prorate your payment once you've paid for the entire month. This is a horrible business practice. I would never use this company again. Other than being a clean and secure facility, the management is terrible. My rate went up in the first three months of me moving in, and have continued to rise since. There are so many storage options out there - this is the wrong one to use! read more

I've been with many Extra Space Storages, but this by far has been my best Customer Service experience with them. Tasha, the manager, is absolutely INCREDIBLE, honest and very personable. She was upfront about the rates and I felt very comfortable with making this my new storage home. In addition to her being so kind, she was very patient....and she was busy, and I asked many questions and I never felt rushed. Thanks for all your help, Tasha! You made the move-in process painless. read more

Great customer service, Tosha has been great. Looking forward to working with Extra Space

This is one of the few storage facilities I'd recommend. The staff is super nice and helpful. Good access hours. App to buzz you in and out. Not overrun by homeless or riff raff. 5 stars for sure read more

Tasha was amazing and really went above and beyond in helping me have a good experience during the storage rental process. I agree with the other reviewers who talk about the con of raising your rent. I started out with a great deal for a l0 x 8. ( I didn't read Yelp reviews until I got all of my stuff out.) The great deal was $37 for the month. The following month went to the agreed $193.00. By the sixth month they raised my rent to $220.00! Really??!! When I got my notice I said to myself Bye Bye Storage because that is ridiculous! Pros - Yes, it is clean and gated. read more

Extremely happy to have found Tasha, this incredibly clean facility and her amazing staff. Staff and security at Extra Space 3000 B Street make this the best self-storage I've ever rented. Staff are present six days a week, attentive to details, helpful with small and large problems, responsive to complaints and suggestions. I never fear that my storage units will be breached by thieves, as happened elsewhere. The general cleanliness and daily clean-up help me manage my own storage spaces better. read more

Beware- read the reviews, they are true! They will raise your rates CONSTANTLY. If you only need a rental for a couple of months, it's fine. But if you need a long term rental, look elsewhere. RIP OFF. I am moving my things to another storage place before the of the month to avoid yet another rent increase. read more

I needed a storage unit a few months back I was hoping to find one with hours that were open early and stayed open late. Well extra space drug that slot meaning they allow their customers to answer a 6 a.m. and then don't have to leave till 10 p.m.. now the entire process was wonderful Tasha is extremely professional and overwhelmingly awesome. I happen to have the unit 333 and I hate to bring this up because Tasha was so wonderful but there is an incident where my padlock was unlocked and the type of locl that if you don't close it properly it stays unlocked if you don't have a key then it leaves itself that way it's like a protective measure so to speak to me to know that if somebody was in my unit or not. Also when looking at the unit the back wall was fine I just happened to notice there had been some kind of construction going on just before my move-in. And for some reason there was a lot of activity above me made me feel like an ant almost as if people were watching me. There was activity after hours which should not have been I should know I got into some trouble over it. Overall the place remained quiet and clean so AWESOME MANAGEMENT, HOURS AND LOCATION...E JOY read more

I'm a planner. When I reserved a 10x10 space online, I taped out an area of my garage and put various totes and boxes in the space to see how many I'd be able to fit in the unit. When I was taken to the unit on the move-in date, it looked smaller. I didn't say anything at the time, because I assumed it was an optical illusion. Certainly they wouldn't rent out a space labeled 10x10 and have it not be that size. After several car trips and lots of sweat equity invested, it became apparent that the unit was not 10x10. I brought back my tape measure and discovered it was about 8.5x9.5. This may seem like a small difference, but assuming you have a large Home Depot box (which is 18"x18") and store it 4-high (which is not even close to the top of the unit) that's 24 BIG boxes! Otherwise know as a dang lot o'stuff that I won't be able to store in there. I intend to ask for an adjustment on the monthly rent. I'll update my review after that, but in the meantime I suggest you bring your tape measure to make sure you're getting what you pay for! Incidentally, the facility is really clean, and the move-in paperwork is very streamlined. Also, Cynthia was very personable. read more

Cynthia at the front desk was such an amazing help! This place is one of the nicest storages places I've ever used. I just started storing some belongings at this facility. I am commenting on the process of getting a unit. I received 3 calls in two weeks about availability of units in a specific size I wanted. After deciding on their unit, they saved it for me (with a quote and first month free). I received a call in the morning stating it was still available and came in after work, it was mysteriously taken, price was raised, and first month was not free. I chose to not accept and left, they called 10-15 min later stating they made a mistake and I could have it in the quoted rate. Erich was kind enough to stay open later to get my paperwork finished and he even waved the admin fee. Besides the beginning process, nothing has been an issue. The unit was clean and cops were around every now and then! I will recomment later if any issues after clearing things out of the place when we decide to not have a unit! read more

I agree with. Nick J. In house management problems, billing issues and outrageous rate increases!! Store your stuff elsewhere. I like to end things on a positive note so with that being said, this place is clean & secure. read more

We rented a storage unit in June 2017. At the time, we,were, told the cost could go up in a year and it was, mandatory to get their insurance. We we're ok with an increase in a year, but we were NOT told that the insurance was unnecessary if we had homeowner insurance. Recently, we got a card informing us that the rate would change in November, which is only 5 months later. We went to talk to them and a different person told us rates normally go every 4-8 months and if we brought in proof of our insurance we wouldn't have to use theirs. They won't give us a refund for the insurance we've paid and won't honor the statement that we wouldn't have a rate increase for a year. So, they lied to us and omitted important info that would have saved us money. I absolutely hate businesses that take advantage of their customers! Guess we'll be shopping around for another storage place. Anyone have one they could recommend? read more

After an exhausting search for a mini storage in Sacramento I was finally referred to Extra Space Storage. I received excellent customer service. Incredible staff, fair prices, air conditioned units, very clean. Great experience. A+

After looking for wine storage in Sacramento for the scorching summer time, and those warmer than normal winter days, I chose Extra Space Storage. After about a month and a half I took my business elsewhere less than satisfied. When I first signed up for the unit I was offered two free months as an incentive to buy. At the months end, I was receiving notices that I needed to pay for the next month, which was supposed to be free. After many calls and couple conversations with a service representative, none of which where ever followed up on (Cynthia), I finally came to find out that they (Darlene) had failed to put a note in my file about the agreed upon terms, and without any documentation on my part I really had no available recourse. When I, reluctantly, went to pay for the next month they where going to charge me more than what was agreed upon monthly. Fortunately, I did have the documentation for what was quoted in this case and it wasn't a problem. In addition, they (Darlene) said things about the 'climate controlled' units that where not true in regards to temperature and humidity fluctuations. They (Cynthia and Darlene) also said that if I was to leave the unit in the middle of the month, I would only be charged for the portion of the month that was used and that the balance would be returned to the card. This again was not true! When I asked about it of course they (some manager lady) pulled out the fine-print contract that showed different terms than what I was told, and then did a little song and dance about how 'they cannot' (i.e. won't) return money to cards. At the end of the day don't rent from this business. If you do, make sure you read the mundane minutia of the contract. And certainly DO NOT take anything they say at face value. I feel that they told me what they had to in order to get me in there. It's interesting they put up a facade of promoting excellence in customer service but don't seem to have regular protocols/practices which facilitate the philosophy. read more
