I knew this was the right place to house our belongings when I asked the manager during the tour if they had issues with pests or theft, and he was mortified and responded "what kind of storage unit would we be if we had pests and theft happening?!" (A response I had not gotten from a different storage unit I toured before finding R and 21st storage). He then went on to share with me all the security and pest prevention measures they take. Booking the unit was easy, the price was reasonable, and it's very clean and professionally run. They have ample available carts and do a great job with security. They also have ample parking. Also because there's only one entrance and limited hours, we felt especially confident in our items staying secure and in quality condition. Cons - the hours are somewhat limited (particularly on weekends when they close at 4) and because it's a fortress vs. drive-up it does take a bit more effort (and time if using movers) to get stuff into the single freight elevator, down the hall, into the unit etc. All that to be said, it was the "cons" which gave us a much better sense of confidence, security, and anxiety reduction leaving our belongings here. You will absolutely get an arm workout from the lifting the elevator rolling door up and down though! We can't say enough positive things about the experience and it's great that it's located right in the heart of midtown!

They told me Coast 2 Coast had 12 complaints in 2026 alone by June and are actively investigating. Coast 2 Coast Relocation, Long Beach CA, DOT# 4285282. Binding estimate $3,450. Once our stuff was on the truck they handed us a bill for $6,140. Crew had no uniforms and smelled strongly of weed the entire day. By the end they were throwing things into boxes. Our stuff sat in a warehouse for two weeks with no updates. Empty DC apartment. Nothing. Delivery confirmed for 8am June 5. Driver didn't show. We had prepaid $350 for our building elevator. Gone. He showed up hours later demanding $1,973 cash only. Their own rep had confirmed $1,036.10 by Zelle four days earlier. He added a shuttle fee for an address on file for 45 days and double-billed the elevator fee already in our signed estimate, listed as two different amounts across documents. The situation felt unsafe enough that I called the police to report what was happening and for my own safety. They did not come but my building manager ended up escorting me through the entire drop off process. Customer service manager Jill Rodriguez promised to follow up on our billing dispute. Never did. Ignored three attempts to reach her. Then sent a boilerplate email threatening storage fees and redelivery charges when we never refused delivery. When we kept pushing she tried to gaslight us by calling our billing dispute a damage claim so she could block it under a one claim per move rule. Two completely separate things. Sales rep Melanie deliberately misled us about the delivery timeline to close the sale. Told us in writing they run a tighter timeframe than competitors and confirmed our pickup dates would get us delivery by our target date. Then hid behind a 0-21 business day fine print clause when none of it happened. Two ceramic planters broken. Glass fixture shattered. Jewelry missing after delivery. Escalated to CEO and corporate officer. Neither responded. Filing with FMCSA and BBB. Total in dispute: $3,636.90. Do not use this company.

I visited the other day and a customer began to be nasty towards the employee at the desk; so much so I was going to need to walk out or intervene. The employee kept her cool, the customer realized her error in what she was asking for and apologized to taking the paperwork back from the employee (but no apology for her nasty, curt tone). I was the next customer and the employee perked right up like nothing happened. Shout out to our service based heroes who endure what they shouldn't have to.

I typically stop in when I need to buy stamps or send something that requires a little extra attention or tracking. On my latest visited there was a small line of people and the person up front was friendly and helping everyone efficiently. I ended up buying a few different packs of stamps, including some very cute year of the snake stamps. I always opt for forever stamps and after making my purchase I was able to add postage to a couple of letters I had going out, put them in the box and I was on my way. The Post Office isn't always the most fun or glamourous errand, but I've had good experiences with the staff here so far and have been able to get the job done.
