Customer service is non existent. The hours of operation are pointless because no one is in the office, and if you call the main line, they have no way of contacting the property managers. Tried to do it all online and that doesn't work either. As I was writing this review someone called back and stated the property manager would be there at 1pm but would still be unable to assist us with getting a unit because she's only there to walk around/inspect the property. So, no one is the office to assist. The online portion was not working and the property MANAGER was going to show up but still can't help. Makes zero sense to me but it's very clear that this is a business who doesn't care, and my money will be spent elsewhere. read more

This was my first storage rental experience and I found it to be a great one! Diamond, who I believe is the property manager, really won me over with her kind, professional service from start to finish. I rented a 5x10 storage unit, which surprisingly, fit all of my stuff. If I had more furniture - eg, a full couch, dining table, bed, etc. - I don't think this would have been big enough. I got away with the size because I had smaller pieces of furniture, for example, I have 2 chairs rather than a full sized couch. The unit I got was also A/C controlled but I'm not sure if that was necessary given that I didn't store items that would melt or were food related (minus small appliances). I see a few comments that you have to leave an ID (or not) when using their moving supplies. When I went I had mixed experiences, some people asked me to leave something behind whereas other people didn't. I didn't mind either way. A few other comments said that people live here or that it was filthy, which neither was my experience. I never saw trash around the area or inside the buildings. I rarely see people at the storage facility too - every time I've been to drop off items there's usually no one there or at most 2-3 more cars and they're usually not near me at all. I gotta be honest, the ONE thing I was bothered by is that they have mandatory insurance you MUST buy. It's an extra $15 or so per month and I just wish they'd add that into the price rather than surprising you with it when you go to pay read more

Renting a 10 x 20 unit from Public storage was the worst business decision I made in the last 5 years and quite possibly the worst business decision I have made in the last 40 years The initial monthly cost has gone from under 200 to ( now ) they are increasing to $471 for me a valued client when new renters for 10 x 20 can get one for $266 ( per their web site ) It is outrageous, unethical , immoral and should be illegal I suggest you find ANY OTHER alternative to Public Storage or you will get fleeced. read more

Dollar move in fees lol bait n switch. I was charged like over 60 bucks in fees my first month. Also the guy tried to bundle some additional insurance cost to my account when I signed up.. I stopped him because I already have rental insurance. A quick Google search shows Public Storage faced a class action lawsuit over this bs - they actually kick back huge amounts of the premium back to the company. FREQUENT BREAK-INS About 3 years ago my sister and I freshly graduated high school and I was going to school in sac and her in Davis so we wanted to get a storage unit in Sac. If you asked 2 years ago I would of said the area of this storage is absolutely awful but I feel safe with all of my stuff being there wit the gates. Turns out they let just about everyone and anyone inside with or without codes since multiple cars can easily enter at one time. We recently go our storage unit broken into. They completely ransacked the place trying to search for valuable things and took some very important things from my sister and I. This could have happened anywhere which I understand but when arriving to my storage the same day it was broken into the people who worked there said there had been a break in to a different storage everyday for the past two weeks... As a paying customer there was no notifications and to top it off no cameras! There are only cameras for the outside units, absolutely none inside. The workers refused to be of any kind of assistance and it was difficult for the police to try and make contact with them. Overall awful experience with an awful location would recommend avoiding this place at ALL costs! read more

Highly don't recommend this storage facility. Horrible customer service very rude property manager (Diamond). The storage workers are aware of the homeless sleeping in units and hallways even the bathroom and does not kick them out before closing hours. They let whoever in and out the gate without a code (people are parked outside the gate waiting for someone to open it) . There was a lot of break ins while I was renting there and none of the workers did a single thing to help the customers, and the gate would always be broken/stuck and left open overnight for several days. Public storage wanted to raise my rent($87) on June 1st and I put in a request to not have my rent raised for the next 3 months after my request was approved I was notified in August to vacate my unit. Was given no reason of vacate kept avoiding to say reason. read more

I thought this storage facility was going to be perfect for me. They have an app that uses Bluetooth to let you in the gate and into the elevator to get up to the unit. Turns out this has actually been more cumbersome than helpful, because the app constantly kicks me out and forces me to sign back in, even when I've been at the storage unit for an hour. It's quite frustrating. This isn't so bad but the fact that I can only access my storage unit until 6PM on weekdays and 5PM on weekends is very frustrating. This is the main reason I would not suggest using this facility: I should be able to access my stuff on my time. I understand this is probably a safety feature for the storage unit and some people may actually like this. However, I think it shows the owners are too cheap to pay more than one person to work a day. It honestly makes me angry that if I want to access my stuff on a workday I can't because I work past the time the storage unit is open. If the system uses Bluetooth why am I not able to access my stuff until 10 PM? I'm not looking to get in at 2AM, but if I'm allowed access at 6AM w/ no one there then why can't they allow access at the end of the night too? Irritating! I recognize that it is my responsibility to check this but as someone who has had a storage unit in the past I assumed it worked in the same way and the hours they showed were just when someone would be in the office. I have had a unit here for 7 years +. The rates have always been high. I didn't pay my payment on time and they after 2 weeks started lien procedures and started aggressively collecting from myself and with my emergency contact who embarrassingly paid. I called for explanation and they were vague and tried to turn it on me. They also decided to raise my rate by 60 dollars. Horrible greedy office. Also many units seem to be lived in. It's a very sketchy location with horrible customer service. read more

*Attention* please go check your unit!! I would not recommend this place for new customers. I went to put more stuff in my unit and when I opened it most of the things were gone. The robbers had enough time to go through the boxes and leave photo albums and items they didn't want. There was items that were not mine in the storage, so I'm guessing they robbed multiple units. And if you think they were nice robbers they left the items on the floor, so most of the things left behind are damage due to water. Now I'm stuck trying to figure out what was stolen and the insurance only covers up to $2000. Somethings, you could put a dollar on but there was items that had sentimental value that far exceeds $2000. read more

I have a hard time understanding some of the bad reviews. This is fifth time I have had to rent a storage unit, and this was by far my best experience. It is certainly not "a dump." I got a unit in the temperature controlled building, it was the cleanest storage unit I've had, they repainted the whole building in these last weeks. As far as heroin addicts living in the units (??) not sure how anyone would know this, I was told by the office that everyone had to be out by 6 or 5, closing time. One day when I cut it close they checked on me to make sure, and they have cameras on the units. I won't "swear" it's not real but I never saw any sign of things like that. I also never had to leave my ID for a cart. I had some trouble with my lock, it broke, and Chelsea went out of her way to make sure my unit was locked while she got someone to cut it off and replace it, then called me to let me know the keys for the new lock were waiting for me. Both of the women I dealt with were super helpful. I would go there again in a heartbeat. read more

I recently rented a storage unit at this location. While Joy, the manager on duty, was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating, I take issue with the facilities themselves. There are trash bags stuffed in between the units, which cannot be sanitary. It also appears that several people seem to be living in the units. Lastly, the access to the facilities do not extend past 6PM which is incredibly inconvenient when you have a full time job. read more

4 stars for every other experience I've had here due to the gentleman at the front desk. However, 1 star for what I had just experienced this morning. I had come to pick a few things up from my storage and needed a cart. So I asked the manager in charge today for the cart and they took my ID. When I was done packing things into my cart 15 minutes later I returned to the front office to pick up my ID and come to find out the manager had left. Firstly, they did not put an accurate return time (9:25am) when they most likely meant 10:25a as it was already 10am when we returned to the office. Secondly, the manager did not return until 10:40a. We waited a whole 40 minutes just to have my ID returned. When the manager finally got back they said they had to "go to the bank" and when I mentioned we had been waiting a while just to get my ID the manager didn't even apologize and just said "I had no choice". I thought it was a little odd that management would take my ID (although I understand that it is standard procedure to borrow their push cart) but did not mention that they would be leaving soon for more than 40minutes. And to go to the bank while having my ID was also a very strange to me. Situations such as this can and should be easily avoided in the future using simple communication but apparently the manager today felt their "break" time was more valuable than mine. read more

my unit a year ago started out less than $99 a month. they have increased the rent several times over the past year. I was really surprised when i saw the most recent charge of $180 for the same unit. I was really surprised to see this, and i figured maybe the property values had increased in the area. Well i checked online to see what the current rate for the same sized unit was online.. $77/mo So they are literally gouging me an extra $100/mo for being there longer. What a racket. read more

It's never good when you have to pay someone $75 a month just to hold on to your crap. I mean, if you can do without it for 7 months, the chances are ... you don't really need it, right? I wish. Anyway, despite being a franchised chain, this location has that independently owned feeling, which I get mostly from the courtesy calls I receive when I'm late on a payment (which has only happened once .. ok three times.) I do think it would be much better, however, if they called you the day your payment was due rather than after so you don't get charged the $20-something late fee. I hate late fees. Who doesn't, right? You can get this fee removed one time if you jump through the hoops, leave messages for the manager and then wait. Right off 16th, the location is convenient and the storage unit area seems fairly temperature controlled. The people who work here are jovial and helpful. read more

Adequate for storing things you don't need but once a year. I never had any problems accessing any of my stuff until I needed to move out when the elevator went out. The manager Brandy recruited some guys to help me move some furniture out, so that was nice. Know that this place is not in the greatest of neighborhoods, but it seems pretty secure. read more

I WISH ZERO was an option,as that is the correct rating this location deserves! If you want your storage facility unsecured in a bad area, with no "gate that works" on the property as they claim, to have a secured storage facility for your items to be stored and someone on location... not even near the case! NO one calls back until you go down there video taping the situation with no one ever available in the office and then make sure to leave that on the voicemail. They call you back then. That's the only way I got anyone to call me back. Finally got my Christmas stuff out one week before Christmas. They had a locksmith change my lock per my request which took a long time to do because I couldn't get a hold of anybody to start that process. Once I did I couldn't get a hold of anybody to give me the new key to the lock. Finally decided to move out because of the circumstances. Went down to move my things out with the U-Haul. Of course nobody in sight and no one answers the phone. I left a message saying that I recorded the security gate wide open once again stuck open, with no one responsible on site.. two hours before I had to take the U-Haul back or pay for another day I received a callback. They let me in I got my things out. The next day I was billed for January... I attempted to contact somebody about it, as move out day employee that finally was able to help me open my storage so I can move out informed she submitted the paperwork to close me out. Had I not checked they would be billing me February 1! She blamed it on the storm that the system didn't put the request through... This is ridiculous. It's been escalated and they denied my request for a refund for December and January! They are bad business and will not help you! Looking further to see what legal action I can take. They need to learn their lesson... Even if it cost me more! read more

The District Manager, while he was in the hospital during his wife giving birth to their child, he reached out and resolved my issue. Please do not use this storage. I was robbed as was 4 others. The whole storage is infested with roaches which we were not told of when we rented it. When we were robbed pubic storage was disabled by theives when they were at the bank as they the same time every day or so I was told . Also after all we have been thru in the last 6 months I need to move 2 days after the 1st and they I gave to pay a full month. Please note I lost all my mother left me and even my dogs ashes . This place is horrible. Don't come here . There are also people living in the units. I saw this for a fact!!! read more

These guys are great. I came in 15 minutes before Brandy was supposed to get off work. I'm not encouraging people to do this, just illustrating how nice she is. She walked me through the property to show me the rental units, which are standard and plenty alright. One storage space had an alarm clock going off inside of it. I asked jokingly if she'd have to hear that for months on end. She said "no, he comes here pretty often but if I don't see him I'll give him a call." That's rad. She knows the guy, would recognize him, and is looking after his stuff. I didn't expect that level of personal commitment at a storage facility. THEN Brandy helped me get the best possible price, taking the time to put in extra leg work to make sure I got a got a great deal. She thoroughly explained the rental agreement and left me feeling confident, happy, and looking forward to a great, long relationship. read more

Don't use this storage place! Way over price absolutely inconvenient with hours if you have a 8 to 5 job . There are bums inside and out all the time and staff isn't exactly very nice, except when your there to purchase the storage unit the first month! I was a fan of this place until they limited the gate hours to 6pm which got in the way of my moving day. I asked for an extension on the last day and the relief manager told me that there was nothing he could do because they're off at 6pm. He then proceeded to tell me that it was for my safety... whatever that means. Thanks to this inconvenience I had to pay for an additional day of my UHaul, which fell on deaf ears when I tried to explain that to them. read more

I went online to the Public Storage website and completed the process of renting a unit on November 7th, 2021. 5 minutes after completing the transaction online, I called because I placed the unit with my husband's name as the primary and myself as the authorized user. I was told that he had to be present when we move in and I told them this was not possible because he is a Truck Driver and currently out of state on the road. The person that I spoke with at this location's name is Kathy and she said that I would not be able to move in without him. I said ok that I would need to just cancel the rental and receive an immediate refund. Kathy told me she would issue the refund but I would lose $24 for an administrative fee. I told Kathy this was not acceptable considering the time frame in which my transaction occurred and my phone call made. Today is November 18th and I have not received any part of my $181 that was charged to my card. I have called several times now and been given different numbers to call including Customer Service, some We Care team and another team that have all told me there is nothing they can do. This is unacceptable business practice. They have stolen my money at this point for a storage unit that was NEVER moved into. I am making this review on YELP and also filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and Public Storage Corporate offices. read more

Holy crap. This place is awful. Cockroaches everywhere. Broken doors to the interior units that won't stay open. Broken interior lights. Homeless living in the units and swarming the gates. This place is completely unsafe and scary to be there alone. This is a work unit for us, so not there by choice. Filthy and scary. There should be a negative ranking. read more
