I have been occupying a unit for over 2 years and I must say Cheryl is the absolute best. She has always been very attentive to any concern's I've ever had and has been a great support during my rental. I really appreciate how without me even asking, she noticed the increasing rate on the size unit I had and how long I have been renting from the facility and personally gave me a call to see if she can assist in getting me a better rate. Poor service when it came to vacating the unit. I schedule the vacancy per app and the app recommended 6/6. They gave me a call on 5/30 from a Utah number so it got voided. I move out of the unit that weekend 6/4 and got charged for an extra month. When calling to get the issue resolved they said called on 5/30 so I can move out on 5/30 and expected me to move in a day. Horrible service and will never use Public storage again. read more

My experience was a mess from the start. First time getting a storage unit and I had an appointment. The property manager didn't show and they sent another employee she was 20 mins late and had no idea I had an appointment. There was a pile of trash, drug paraphernalia and a strong urine smell next to the entrance for my unit. Wanted a bigger unit but she had another person to help who's unit was broken into. So I called there main office and left a message to upgrade my unit. I guess I'm stuck with the unit I have. Went back to the unit two days later and the trash is still there and growing. read more

We had our rv there less than 30 days. We were actually going to move it 1 1/2 days after the break in. From checking in on a Saturday where they were open until 5 and I was told if I left a message someone would call me back (they did not). Multiple vehicles were broken in to but the district manager insisted ours was the only one. I have pictures, he said I was incorrect. The manager insisted they used wirecutters to break in through the chain link fence (it's all solid iron fencing). They won't give us the video of the night - must go through police and police aren't interested in this small theft. No one from district management will return my calls. I feel like this was an inside job and No one from Public Storage corporate cares. I hope you read this review and the others reporting multiple break ins before storing anything at the Natomas site. Maybe more sites. Buyer beware. update: Just spoke with the regional manager who insisted ours was the only vehicle reported as a break in, but look at the Uhaul - that's fresh glass. Also, why are they allowing vehicles there if there are so many break ins? Shouldn't they alert customers to this? read more

Easy to reserve and pay online. Huge hassle to change anything. I needed to change the size of the unit before i moved my stuff in. Apparently there is no on site management here now. Sat here for 20 minutes. Called customer service told me to go to the one down the street they could help me. Arrived at 3300 Northgate property at 2ish. Sign on the door said they would be back at 930am! Sat here for 20 minutes. Called customer service again... no help! Got a hold of a person from the 16th Ave location. She made me drive all the way there. She was nice and got me changed to a smaller unit but.... I had to go all the way back to this location. And the new unit is locked. This has taken almost 2 hours now. I'm on a deadline to return the rental van! I called back to the location that helped me. Explained it all said I needed help asap. She said no problem. I'm calling the property manager, I'll be on my way to help you and will call you right back. Guess what 15 minutes... no call back! Called her back again. She said she will leave in 15 minutes. This is when I lost it. I said cancel everything, refund my money. I am going somewhere else. She said she cancelled it all and I will get a refund. And yup you've guessed it... still no refund. This place did have trash on the grounds. People just left stuff behind. read more

BE CAREFUL IF YOU STORE STUFF HERE. I suspect that there are employees on the inside use there policies to rip off customers. If you store stuff here and you are missing stuff but it shows no signs of break in you are out of luck. Policy is you can't claim a loss if it shows no signs of forced entry. Moved most of my life into a unit as I downsized from a 3 room house to a 1 bedroom Jr apartment. Had no issues besides a almost double price hike until early December when I went to get Xmas decorations. I open my unit and it was 3\4 gone but it was neatly done boxes were stacked up neat empty but neat. Everything of value was gone I check the lock and door no damage so I'm assuming an inside job. I go to the desk and the are fake shocked like it was the first theft they ever heard of. They tell me I have to go through insurance but it will be hard to get a claim since there is no FORCED ENTRY and anyone can say they are missing stuff. CAMERAS the place has to have cameras right? There is a code that is used to get into the building that I am sure is logged into the system. She says she will check the camera she comes back shortly and says oh there is no camera in this hallway only outside the door and she checked it and didn't see anyone carrying out our stuff. The manager and owner calls us a few days later and keep saying " But no forced entry " because those locks are impenetrable and there is no master key. Insurance people call and press the no forced entry thing. Come to find out you find videos on how to pick that same lock in 20 seconds. So we HAD to use there lock which is easily picked, their insurance that only allows that lock to use oh the best part no theft claim if it shows no signs of "Forced Entry" But there locks could be easily picked. It was so convenient that my unit does not have camera on it or by it. So wouldn't it be a lucrative business to pick the locks if you are an employee if you know there is no cameras and they can't claim lost if it wasn't forced open? We have been trying to get ahold of anyone but no contact. This has had to have happen to others and it has to be on record. I'm pretty sure a lawyer will ask for all of this info and see if others units were broken into with no forced entry and no camera footage. read more

You can literally YouTube how to pick the lock from public storage and 100s of videos come up with the same lock that's provided BY THEM!.. I'm dealing with theft from this location! And to only have 1 camera in the whole property! Makes no sense! Please stay away! read more

I was charged for the 2nd month of rent after 3 days of having the key for the 1st month. The attendant first said I had to pay 2 months rent was in error. She really did not seem to know what she was doing. There were customers waiting while I told her she was not to charge 2 months rent. I went home and happen to look at my bank account to find that she charged me anyway. i returned and asked her about the charge as she denied it with me showing her my bank statement printout. I had to call the corporate office to get an adjustment. It took about 5 calls to get my money back. The attendant promised a light in my unit. We had movers to show up one night and I had to use my car lights to move the first items into the unit. She said it would take a few weeks she is not sure when to get the light working. I complained to corporate again to get attention. The man attendant simply went into the unit and changed the bulb the same day I show up after waiting for her a week. A few months later I return to find I can not get into my storage. it turns out someone ( the attendant said her maintenance people had to change the lock because "somehow the door lock got bent inward. It looks like someone kicked the lock in. I asked why wasn't I notified. the attendance reply, I called your cell phone. I said what day was that, she said June 1st. AT&T ran my cell report and NO call from public storage. My storage was packed by professional movers. Now it looks as if a hurricane has been through the storage. I asked why did you guys open my art work and move thing around and where is my painting and weightless recliners for my patio. she had no answers to anything. This place is NOT run by professionals. The girl attendant not only appear to know her job, but she is on the phone talking every time I have gone by. I do not recommend this place. read more

I really want to give Petra a 5 star rating because I rate her this in so many professional categories!! First she is very caring and does what's best for you and storage needs. She went out of her way to help me as a 65 yr old disabled person. She is an asset to that facility and its customers!! I've witnessed her work very hard maintaining the neat and cleanliness there. I owe her a debt of gratitude for all she has helped me with and my storage needs. I wish management would get window shades and a larger air conditioner for that office! It was unbearably hot when I went in to pay my bill a few times. I was perspiring by the time I left after a few minutes. I actually feel bad for employees who are in that hot office all day. The reason I'm upgrading this is because I didn't realize I wrote the review on a particular P.S. site. As for the 4200 Northgate site I can say I am pleased with cleanliness and the pest free atmosphere. The staff are very helpful and friendly...love that Dawn! This site was less than 5 minutes from my residence and 1 minute from the freeway. They have great hours so no having to rush to finish before closing. The office is organized for finding items easy, bathroom clean, it is next door to restaurants (in case you get hungry during or after your move in). Again I emphasize the pest free being that I have a new storage at Extra Space Storage and it is roach infested!! Have to move out before I even finish my month. I have never seen roaches or mice inside of a Public Storage, ever. So that is one of their great pluses. read more

It was super easy and convenient to rent the storage unit however, it has been a pain and hassle to cancel the account. I have tried unsuccessfully for a month to cancel the unit after I moved out and moved to another state. My account continues to bill and I have called the rental office multiple times a week for several weeks to no avail. What started out as a good experience has quickly waned. read more

When I'm looking for a storage to place my belongings I never choose it for the cheap rates or the actual space. I pick based off the friendliness of the staff and how helpful they are. It's hard to find quality now a days, but with their staff it feels like everybody is family. Helpful, kind, courteous, whenever I need some help or have a question their on it. I hate moving, and I dislike even more the fact I have to put my things in storage...but if you need something in a pinch, like me, then this is the place to go! This facility is bright and clean, and the staff are very helpful. Earlean was a great help, and I was very impressed by her friendliness and professionalism. She answered all my questions and concerns, and helped me feel a lot better about choosing Public Storage. Even though I was just there to inquire about renting space, since I'm not quite ready to move until next week, she still showed me the unit and even let me know how I can reserve it by going online, which I did and it was super easy. Their prices are reasonable and luckily for me it's right off the freeway and easy to get to. Greetings fellow yelpers! If you ever find yourself In a jam and have to put your belongings in a storage facility , think twice before going to public storage. Don't do it!!! Go to a privately owned and ran company. Do NOT go to big bad corporate public storage. Dawn( current mngr)has been very helpful, courteous, and professional. So why the low ratings? I won't bore you with the long winded story of family fraud and deception. That's a story for another time and another place. Let me just give you the quick and the dirty: I just found out my locker is being auctioned off after five years of tenancy. And normally, if it were my own crap, i probably wouldn't even care. Good riddance and all that. But in this case, the items inside belong to my deceased mother. I haven't accessed it since my mother died and I packed and stored her home. Here is where things get ugly- rogue family members illegally accessed my moms unit. I have no idea what is left or if its even worth the $400 fee. One would think that anyone who hadn't been hatched from a pod would be more understanding of my request to please let me see what's left of my mother's things. I'm not interested in taking anything, as I am sure the individuals who fraudulently accessed my unit have already helped themselves to whatever was of value. I just wanted closure. In private. Away from the prying eyes of the auction public. One simple request and i was given a resounding and resolute NO from the district mngr. PUBLIC STORAGE I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU. Do u really think u will get your 13 pieces of silver from auctioning off a dead 75 year old women's household goods? I am offering to make good on your fees if you would only give me additional time. This is my dead mother's personal items. What do you gain (besides bad karma) by not working with me? I am giving you an opportunity to make things right. Please see that you do. Because in the big scheme of things, do you really want a dead woman's personal belongings? I would certainly hate to have to picket your facilities at northgate and north market blvd on auction day (april 25th). There is no telling what I might write out on multiple signs regarding your facility. And I really don't want to cause such a spectacle that all of our local news stations feel compelled to have to report my story. After all, it's not my business or professional reputation that is being questioned. So please, show the world that big bad corp america does indeed have a heart and can execute common sense.
