I have debated for 2 months to post this review, but after seeing some of the others... I am not…read morealone. James and his team are young, personal and hard working. BUT something happened during our move and they had to "switch trucks". The concern started when they brought in a small table that had broken that they tried to glue together unsuccessfully. With no other comment other then the glue didn't work??? Unfortunately, we had to delay box opening and the full review of our items as we had the interior painted and recarpeted. So 90% stayed in our garage for 4-6 weeks. Once we started to set up the house we became VERY concerned with some damaged items. In addition, I found beds and chairs put together incorrectly causing a support to be broken in the bed which we had to replace (the bed). We kept saying "they are such good kids", but items kept piling up scratched, dented... The final straw was when we realized we were missing 1-2 boxes and I reached out to the office, simply to inquire and to ask if they could see if the next stop had our stuff (even though we were told we were the ONLY stop). Initially ignored, then given "James will be in touch". Guess what... NEVER heard from James. So disappointed as if they had simply gotten back to me apologized, and said they didn't have any extra boxes, this review NEVER would have been written. Hiding in your shell never pays off. So disappointed as this will catch up to them and they seemed like good kids.

We paid for the service and the insurance, yet all they do is ignore the delays, the broken items, and the damage they caused. We left voicemails, emailed multiple times, and submitted messages through the portal's help section, and still nothing. At this point, we need to escalate this because almost everything they moved or stored came back lost, broken, or damaged. We're not letting them get away with this.

Once from Boston to Northern New Jersey (Spring 2015) and then again from Northern NJ to Western Massachusetts (late Spring 2018). In both moves The Other Guys has been nothing but efficient, cost-effective, kind, helpful, caring, and flexible. Jane in the office rocks! Their email response time is second to none. Plus, she fields and fielded so many last moment changes in the move from Boston to NJ, she deserves a medal. I recently needed additional documentation to have my employer cove some costs and all materials were sent over immediately, even though my move was a while ago. In the most recent Northern NJ to Western MA, happened very fast and had a tight timeline. Julius and his team were able to help. I did not think they would even be interested in a move that required them to start in NJ, but thankfully, they were. Their quote was spot on and thorough, included toll estimates, mileage, materials, time, and more. Many other companies left out tolls and materials fees. Plus, it was much cheaper than some options in NJ (those NJ movers were BANANAS). They kept me updated the way down to NJ and throughout the drive north. When we got to the final destination in Western Mass, Julius made sure we saw the scratches on the hardwood, right under where we were placing our bed, left by previous tenants to ensure our landlord did not charge us. Here's the thing about old documents,like maybe some of you out there, I still had a lot left going back some 16 to 17 years. Now like a lot of people out there I have a shredder. Let's be honest though,how many of us (10 pages at a time) will actually shred such a big amount in a relatively short time? Raise your hand. (Pause). Yeah me neither. This is where neighborhood parcel comes into the picture. They are quick and efficient. If you take the drive up there my advice is to look for parking space 999( no not even making this up) as that is right in front of the building. They remembered me from a few years ago (hey I had a ton of old papers then). They are friendly as well and weigh each loose bag by the pound. Ironically I filled out and had them mail out the notarized certificate of document destruction. They will also email it to you only if you prefer. I can't tell you how much time they saved me (as I am getting to that stage in life of weighing time vs. money vs. the fact I won't do it all myself in this case). The relief of knowing that these old documents I was never going to look at again were all gone is priceless.
