First, he postponed (by text mssg) on the morning of the move. So, we gave him the benefit of the doubt and set another appointment (again, with John the owner) to move on a different day. That day came and he was a no show. We called and he completely ghosted us. He never called back despite repeated messages and calls. We called his cell. We texted him. We called the office and left messages. Not a word back. See attached photos of "John B" (aka John Benkert). To find out more about the company owner simply google "Benkert's trail of troubles". Not recommended. Do yourself a favor - find another mover.

A member of the team inadvertently busted a lamp shade, and John owned the breakage immediately and is working to resolve to my satisfaction. No equivocating, excuses, or attempt to shift blame. Yesterday, they came back to move more items for me and were prompt, professional, moved the items without delay and were an absolute pleasure to have in my home. i have used professional movers over two dozen times in my life and have NEVER had such a pleasant experience. John and his team (shout out to James) are absolute treasures and his fee is exceptionally fair. Treat them respectfully and, if satisfied, tip them well. They are all superb.

We absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND CLANCY MOVING SERVICES and LOGISTICS!!!…read more On moving day, things came unraveled. As if people don't have enough to do while in the middle of a long distance move. On the first day, one of the movers broke a collectible plate. Not the end of the world, right? However, nobody told us about the broken item. We didn't know anything about the broken plate until we found it buried in a bag of painting supplies (that was not being moved with us and) after the broken plate was hid in the bag, that bag was tucked way under our dining room table. When we found the plate in the early morning hours of day two of the move, we called Clancy and told them. We also told them we do not want that particular employee (who was the only one working in the room where the plate was broken and hid) back in our home handling our property. Clancy Moving Services sent a gentleman named Tom out to see us. Tom was sent out to make the situation of the broken and hidden plate right. His words, not ours. Tom came across as sarcastic, disrespectful and he downplayed the totality of the incident. Very disappointing and unprofessional. Fast forward a bit... We had moving supplies around the house. We had been packing and preparing for a while. Our supplies were clearly different than those which the Clancy crew brought. Unbeknownst to us, the Clancy crew used our packing paper and used and finished our 25 inch roll of green plastic wrap and left us with nothing. Thank you Clancy for complicating an already stressful process. Thanks for using up the open pack of paper we had been using and leaving the empty box for us. Now you're probably thinking things can't get worse... but they did. Clancy's contract driver packed a box labeled "Parts". This box contained hardware removed upon disassembly of certain furniture pieces and those parts were needed to reassemble several of our large items when they were moved to the new house. Furniture pieces like a three piece dresser and mirror, our China cabinet, our adjustable beds, our dining room table, our kitchen table, etc... these guys disassembled those furniture items, wrapped and packaged them, then put the hardware in their box. Sounds good right! In theory and it was. HOWEVER, the driver LEFT THE BOX BEHIND when the truck left to head south. How in creation were they supposed to assemble all the furniture properly 800 miles away, while all the hardware to do so was in a box laying on the floor in NY? Even worse yet... Yes, it continues in a downward spiral. We have a large furniture piece. It's a beautiful bar with a two piece bar back. The bar back was emptied onto the living room floor. And all that stuff on the floor was left right where they put it. It was not packed and moved to the new house, even though when they asked if it being moved, we said yes it was. Same for items removed from our Family Room wall unit. Sadly and dangerously, the crew emptied the contents of the wall unit onto the floor and in doing so, dumped items onto the dog beds on the floor in the area. Some of those dumped items were multi blade razor type brushes for combing out matted fur. The movers doing this created an insanely dangerous condition for our 5 dogs. We didn't see this dangerous condition until many hours after the Clancy crew left. And to top it all off, that box was supposed to be moved by the movers. Guess what? That box was left behind too. So many items including the parts box with parts for reassembling our furniture and whatever else was in it was left behind. How unprofessional, unacceptable and then we had to get that box to to the new house on time ourselves. This whole experience was seriously disappointing and was more like an amateur moving operation, not the professional company we thought we were hiring and paid for. We don't mind paying good money for good service. In this case we paid way too much for the lousy service Clancy and their contractors provided. If you're going to hire Clancy, we wish you luck. We hope our horrible experience was a one time odd occurrence. Regardless, we definitely don't recommend Clancy. They are not the only movers around. Do your research and beware. Also be aware that they operate under the United and the Mayflower brands. Update: Thank you for the reply Elizabeth. We appreciate your response. Hopefully it helps your future clients.

We could not have been happier with this experience!! From the detailed quote provided by Steve, who was quick to respond to questions, to the actual day of the move, everything went...well, smooth is the best word! The quote was completely accurate, nothing above what we expected was charged, even though we ended up having more to move than expected, which took a bit longer, but they stood by their quoted hourly rate. As for the move itself, I cannot say enough about the efficiency, professionalism and respectfulness of Jonathan, Edwin and Brandon. They made a great team, and they made a stressful and difficult process much easier for us. I highly recommend Smooth Move!! Service: Local move

If you're thinking of trusting Smooth Move with your belongings, don't. What they call a "storage…read morefacility" is nothing more than a filthy, gutted office floor masquerading as legitimate space. No storage cubes, no organization--just a disgraceful setup that looks like it was abandoned years ago. Almost $1,200 , and from the very first pickup (less than a two‑minute drive, with items already packed), the nightmare began. The contents were tied to an eviction, and the rightful owner desperately needed access to essentials--credit card, cash, and medicine. Smooth Move held those items hostage for over a week, forcing needless suffering just to retrieve basic necessities. And as if the humiliation of their "facility" wasn't enough, they capped it off by overbilling my credit card just under $200. That's not just incompetence--it's exploitation. Smooth Move isn't a storage company. It's a scam dressed up as service, a disgusting office space pretending to be legitimate. Save yourself the agony: avoid them at all costs.
