The Claims department has not responded to my emails for 13 days. Various other members of the company keep apologizing, but nothing gets done. Here is the list I sent to Claims back on February 24th, when they essentially ghosted me: * Two glass lamp shades - broken beyond repair and need to be replaced * Both bar cart glass surfaces - one shattered and one scratched, both need to be custom cut and replaced * An irreplacable antique desk - need a custom woodworker to fix the parts that were knocked off, and one part of the desk that would need reattaching is missing * Antique wood coffee table - inner wood broken all the way through, not only bad for the desk but very dangerous for our child * Child's lampshade - not expensive, but super bummer * Queen-size bed headboard - broken * Queen-size bed frame overall - shudders every time we lay on it; will need to be completely replaced; was completely solid and sound before the move * Six or so plants stacked on top of one another in a box - plants all broken and dying * Decorative vase - top broken * Night stand drawer handle - pulled off completely * Shelf in cedar chest - broken * Missing parts from 3 metal baby gates - baby gates will need to be replaced completely because they don't work without these parts (this has been a BIG problem for the safety of my child) * Bracelet - broken and needs replacing * Metal baseball bat - dented beyond use * Broken crystal - expensive, not fixable * Massive gouges in newly painted walls - need to be compensated so we can get painters and maybe another worker back in to fix the extremely large dents all up and down our hallways * Mud tracked through departure house, midpoint house and new house carpets - would love to be compensated so we can get a cleaner in * Fully packed boxes as well as lots of hanging items and some things in drawers left back the old house, which was a huge hassle; we would like to be compensated for our time and effort having to deal with another moving round we had to do on our own after we paid you to move our items and it wasn't completed; I spoke to Rob and he offered to have them come back and get it, but, frankly, I didn't trust the company enough to not break more thinks, so then he offered us $250, which I found insanely low and shocking given how terrible our experience with College Hunks has been. I grudgingly accepted it but it has yet to be sent over. I would like to be compensated an additional amount, given the circumstances and neglectful service we received from College Hunks. * They also threw our toothbrushes in, unwrapped, with a USED TOILET BRUSH. Absolutely disgusting. There were also many boxes where they just threw things in wet and unpacked, and so everything was slimy those boxes and had to be washed or thrown away. This is thousands of dollars of damages. To add insult to injury, we were also quoted nearly $3000 less than we ended up paying. Mike was fabulous and Lewin and Cam were also excellent. The other guys were also really nice. I don't blame them, but rather the company itself, which clearly has an issue with training and takes no accountability. Avoid this company at all costs. An update on March 4th: They have offered $650 for destroying literally thousands of dollars of our property, with no itemization of how they arrived at that figure, "as a gesture of goodwill." ETA: I have now learned that there is literally no way to get in touch with the Danbury location directly. The number listed on their website and social media presence is a call center, as confirmed by the call center itself, and there is no other way to contact corporate, either. The Claims department is supposedly a part of the franchise, but the Danbury people I've spoken with say it's through "corporate," which I have no way of reaching. This is bureaucracy at its most Kafkaesque, or else it's an actual grift.

He was super nice and down to Earth when speaking to me. The move was not big at all, basically gathering things from a closet and shipping them down to us. The phone reception was trash at the facility, so he had to call me on a land line. He had to keep running back and forth to where the items were located and talk to me on the phone, as we did not want everything sent back to us. He was so kind and patient during the whole process. I hired All My Sons to do a one-mile move of a really tall and heavy washer/dryer combo tower from…read morea first-floor condo to the basement of a house. I called the day before we needed to move it, and got lucky that they had a cancelation and could squeeze us in with 1 days notice. The unit was heavy and awkward and had to go down some steep stairs into a basement. The movers handled the job professionally and got the machine into the basement with no damage to the machine, the house, or themselves. That was quite an accomplishment!!! If I had one concern about All My Sons it's their failure to clearly communicate pricing and liability limitations. I was told that their minimum charge is 2 hours. It's actually 2 hours plus travel time. And, I wasn't told that their liability limitation is 60 cents per pound. That would have come out to $240 for a $1500 appliance -- definitely not enough to replace the appliance if something had happened. I might not have hired All My Sons if I'd seen this. We got lucky.

They let us know by text when they were on the road to us, and when they were close to arriving at our apartment. The charge did not begin until they arrived. George was the lead/supervisor and there were two other movers with him for our move. They were all experienced and skilled movers, as they were strong, able to navigate tight staircases, in addition to an extremely challenging entryway into our townhome. George had assured me they would have no problem navigating our two-piece L-shaped leather sofa through the entryway, and he did just that! George stayed on top of things throughout the move. He made sure things were placed to our satisfaction, and that we were happy with everything when finished. They finished in a timely manner, and our move was beyond our expectations. Moving is such a ridiculously stressful pain in the...ah...neck, but after my first phone call with Tom Gleason, I knew I chose the right company. I was all over the place with the dates I needed for drop off, for moving... but Tom worked with me and even threw in some humor that helped me maintain sanity throughout the process. He didn't run from my craziness, he accommodated my craziness. I'd like to think he may have actually even liked my craziness. Maybe that's too presumptuous of me. Anyway, we need more Toms around. The 20' unit we rented was perfect. The driveway drop off locations were perfect. I spoke with 2 of the drivers on the phone and met one for the final pickup just now (at 7:15am. Nice! When Tom says he'll have it picked up first thing ... he ain't kiddin!). Everyone I spoke with or met is super nice & friendly. Makes a difference when you're having to deal with all the stresses of moving. Oh. The pod itself! Probably shouldn't leave that out of the review. The pod was great too. Tons of rain (I'm talkin torrential downpours) while we had it and not a drop inside the thing. Use this company. Excellent customer service, great product & reasonable prices. A trifecta.
