One side of the recliner quit working sometime in early July. A repairman came out to the house on 7/25 (not a La-Z-Boy employee, their service is done by a third-party outsource). He supposedly diagnosed the problem. Parts were ordered, taking about 2 weeks to get. Second appointment with tech to install parts on 8/7. Unfortunately, new motherboard (MCM BT) doesn't solve the problem. Technician can't get the product working and doesn't have a clue what's wrong. Tells me the loveseat needs to be replaced and writes report to Corporate to such effect. Tech tells me to call Corporate office and speak to a Supervisor, which I attempt on 8/8. No answer. Leave message. No call-back. I call Corporate again on 8/9 and speak to 'Leona'. Ask to speak with a Supervisor and am told there is only one person working (Alessio). End-up speaking with 'MaKayla' who tells me that Corporate has approved replacement credit, and that I need to now proceed with the local retailer (in Milford, CT). Call salesman who sold us the product on 8/12. Left message. No call-back. Speak to him on 8/13 only to find out he doesn't know anything about the "paperwork authorizing the replacement credit," but will look into it. Now it's August 19 and all I hear are crickets. THIS ENTIRE PROCESS IS RIDICULOUS, FRUSTRATING, & EXHAUSTING. I am so disgusted and disappointed in La-Z-Boy's customer service (with the exception of MaKayla B.), with their third-party field service who seems inept at best, and with the quality of their product. And they are supposed to be the PREMIER BRAND in the category? I don't think so. At this point, I just want my money back -- all $3,339.37. Please bring the check when you pick-up the loveseat! BTW, if you think my review is the exception, I urge you to dig deeper online. Thousands and thousands of La-Z-Boy customers are dissatisfied with either the product or with their customer service. It is so bad that there is actually a 6K+ member group on Facebook for 'Dissatisfied Customers"!

It became a "while you're at it" project, and we wound up gutting the whole first floor, as well as the 2 upstairs bathrooms. Kevin joined us at the outset and immediately grasped our life style and our tastes and created spaces that reflect who we are and the way we live. He miraculously updated the interior while maintaining the original colonial architecture and character, creating timeless spaces. He was generous with his time and energy, giving us time to make choices and decisions, gently nudging us in another direction when he intuitively knew we would be happier with the end result. Kevin maintained a positive attitude throughout the process, buoying up us as we hit all the inevitable snags and delays, and remains a good friend and advisor to this day. He comes with our highest compliments and recommendation.

The house beautifully fit on the island where it is located and Kevin designed the home to take into account the best attributes of my lot. He also took care of all of the design as well with thoughtful interior finishes that beautifully fit the form and function of the vacation home. He worked from the beginning to get our feedback on the direction he was recommending and to unify the big picture decisions for the build with the details that would create the feel and style of the finished project. His vision in the architectural design was then effectively brought to life through excellent communications with the general contractor overseeing the construction after I selected a contractor using his design documentation in the bidding process. Our vacation home is a joy for my family and all of the extended family and friends with whom we share time in this special place. The design makes a wow first impression, but more importantly it has had an enduring quality for family and loved ones who love having time with one another in this home. I can't imagine how Ii would have built a vacation home like this without the vision and attention to detail that Kevin brought to the project.

Talk about a "wow" factor - it turned out absolutely stunning. It wasn't that the room was ugly or anything - but it just didn't render itself to comfortable living. Plus the ceiling was popcorn textured. For years we didn't use it much except for a few hours during holidays because it seemed too cold and impersonal, without much character. We tried different wallpapers, different paint colors and even different styles of curtains/drapes - without much luck. But Michael transformed it. His eye to design is like an artist and his attention to meticulous measurement detail is like a laser beam. Within a short period of time he presented us with alternate designs and discussed merits of each. Best of all we DIDN'T HAVE TO REMOVE the popcorn texture - the installation of the wainscoting went right over it. His craftsmen fabricated the wainscoting at his shop and it was brought to the house in large pieces, ready to install. Scaffolding was erected on the wood floor (without a scratch) and the transformation began. The installation by his finish carpenters went without a hitch or surprise and all the pieces joined together perfectly without gaps - no sanding or cutting in the house was needed because of his attention to detail at the design and shop stages. The painters we used to finish the project were very impressed that they literally had to do almost no sanding before painting. This turned out to be, singularly, my best investment this year. We now use the room ALL the time. It looks not unlike an English Study or den and is so very warm and comfortable to be in. It just gives an incredible good feeling to be in. Your eyes can't help but go to the ceiling and enjoy the detail. The room opens up from the foyer and everyone who comes in the house seems to want to look into the room in admiration of the work and never fail to complement us on it's differentiation of character. And an added upside will be the benefit to us when we put the house up for resale, in price and ease of selling.
