One project was a full transformation: kitchen, both bathrooms, and complete interior decorating. He brings a fresh style but also advised us to preserve elements of our home that were worth keeping. He continues to work with us to modernize our apartment while maintaining character. He customized our renovations to make our apartment into a wonderful home. From contracting management to design vision and finishing details, Buddy and his team handle everything seamlessly. Having one person oversee both the aesthetic and the execution makes the process incredibly smooth and cohesive. After more than two decades of working together, I can confidently say his experience, eye for design, and hands-on expertise truly set him apart. We have recommended him to many friends and recommend him to those reading this review. You will be delighted!

Everytime I walk into my newly renovated apartment, which was so perfectly executed, I feel like…read moreI'm the main character in a home makeover show. The 'before' shots would feature a cute home, but with signs of aging. Fraying wooden cabinets, and little to no natural light in my bedroom. Now this is all modernized, updated, and thoughtfully designed. Connecting with Buddy via Yelp's Request a Quote feature was lucky, because I got no replies from other businesses I contacted first or was told they couldn't take on my project. I'm thankful because Buddy was actually the right person with the right vision for my space. I had been living with a not optimized closet space and the aforementioned fraying wooden cabinets, as well as my bedroom lacking natural light for years. I had heard one too many contractor nightmare stories that caused me to be ultra cautious so I hesitated to contact anyone. I once hired a virtual interior designer which was a total waste of time/money. Enter Buddy, who is not only a creative visionary with a solid contractor team he's worked with for over a decade, but he's also a licensed therapist, and says that contributes to how he handles spaces, which totally makes sense. In the first consultation with Buddy, he paced around my space and rattled off so many wild ideas, some of which sounded fantastical and unrealistic but he made into reality. The initial consultation fee initially made me wince but now sounds like such a deal when in hindsight I realize he gave me the blueprint to my beautiful new reality. I would not have thought to float my couch in the middle of the living room instead of against the wall, facing the best feature of my apartment-- the view. When I was concerned about where to put the TV, he came up with a customized solution. A mechanized wooden box where the TV rises and falls with the push of a button. It sounds so futuristic but now it's part of my life. His contractor team is so awesome too. They handled all my things with care, and not only did they not disturb my plants, which we kept in the apartment during the renovation, they took care of them too! So sweet. It's been several months now and living in my transformed space has really changed my relationship with my home. My living situation used to feel compromised, but now it really feels like a thoughtful expression of who I am. I've already hosted several parties and get togethers in my home, because the new space is way more amenable to hosting, something Buddy picked up about me after meeting. Buddy's organization (we worked out of a spreadsheet which was a dream for my Type A self), and responsiveness throughout the process really eased my nerves about the project. He and his team took genuine care of my possessions and space that it made the renovation process almost enjoyable. Thank you Buddy, for transforming the daily experience of being in my space. You really delivered something exceptional.

For those who think, as I originally did, you'd get a hoity-toity designer who would look down their nose at your choices and/or current design style, nothing could be further from the truth. Carmela presented herself as very down-to-earth, fun and full of ideas. She assuaged my fears about one color, warned me about another ("This color is dark, but with light cabinets you could get away with it"), and helped me select another color entirely for a different room of the house. All in all, she was a wealth of information and I wouldn't hesitate in hiring her, and I may just do so for decorating advice after all my other projects are complete. I can't imagine what she could do with window treatments and area rug choices!

I don't like giving negative reviews but I just have to say something in regards to this company…read morethe owners are simply not up to par they provide horrible service their design efforts are not at all modern. You do not get what you pay for you play a lot of money for little results they do not know how to speak to client they are not good at following up with their client. If you look at the reviews the owner did the first five-star review and that shouldn't be allowed. Bottom line don't spend money on this company they will rip you off!!!!!!!! She looked me up and down from my head to my toes and then proceeded to insult me throughout the entire payment process. For example, she looked at one of the items I wanted to buy and said, "You'd never be able to afford this full-price." She priced another item and then shook her head and said, "You don't want to pay that, do you?" She also said, "You can't get this at TJ Maxx." If I wanted to pay full-price, then I wouldn't be going to an estate sale. That's the whole point. This isn't the first negative interaction I've had with Knack of All Trades. A few years ago, I went to one of their estate sales. We agreed on a price for a large piece of furniture, and I paid for it. They told me to return the next day to pick it up. That night, they called me and said they sold it to someone else. Thankfully, they refunded me, but it was a very ugly interaction. You can't sell something if someone else has already paid for it. They lost my trust at that point, and the more recent interaction solidified my feelings.
