Worst place ever! I repeat don't ever use this storage place. My auntie has gotten her trailer stolen!! How could this happen !?! My family was out of state and never reached out to the family! They reached out all late like weeks after it happend ! These people don't care about your belongings and they suppose they have cameras but can't even show it to my family ! Had my trailer broken into just before Christmas. Thieves got in by simply following a tenant in.. and the place gives you a way to exit without entering a code or anything. They were in there for like 3 hours in early evening and wiped me out and a couple of others. No security, grainy video footage, and policy which protects the criminals. No thanks. If you have your rig stored there, I'd find a better place. read more

Think twice and carefully about storing your RV or Trailer here! Unfortunately, the week right before Christmas 2023, I had got a call from the manager, she was honest and blunt, the news was terrible. A group of thieve's had driven into the Extra Space property, broken into several trailers being stored there in the back of the facility, and emptied out taking what ever they wanted. At least five trailers were broken into so they had plenty of time, and then drove right out with the loot. When I was able to get a hold of the Extra Space owner she was also blunt, but rude and crude, I asked if the Sheriff's had been called, NO. I asked if a police report had been filed, NO "that was each owners responsibility". It took a week of delayed response, for the Sheriff's to investigate, get a warrant on the suspects and by then all my property was long gone. The actual Extra Space security camera footage was terrible! I thought I had been paying to store my $$$ 25K total $$$ worth of household items, TV, papers, computer, brand new motorcycle on a secure property, but that answer would be NO as well. The owner took NO responsibility for anything, and did not act immediately when the theft occurred. I was devastated that Christmas. That was the first bike I had ever been able to buy new, and for my retirement! Myself and the other Trailer Owners might have well parked on the street! read more

Just two months after I moved in, my storage unit was hit by a two thieves that came around midnight (This is at the 23rd street facility in Lancaster CA). Apparently one climbed over the wall, the other waited outside as a look out.No alarm went off and police were not called. I was told they were in there for 3 hours and hit a total of 7 units. I was not even informed until a full day after the theft took place. The company didnt even call the police and to add insult to injury, they never apologized or would even let me look at the surveillance video. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY read more

I rarely give a bad review but I have no choice. I have had a trailer located in this storage facility for about three years. Granted without an issue until this past Monday, February 20th 2023. I drive uptown my space and find the trailer and all within it gone. I go to the front desk and the guy takes a report and then tells me to call the Sheriff, like I didn't plan to do that already. The deputy came to my home and asked about video I said yes they should have it. Cathleen was not available on Friday to do so, today I called to see if the Sheriff could look at the video today and was told she called in sick. The google page for Extra Storage on J8 states, "At Extra Space Storage, were committed to providing secure storage for our customers. That's why our W Ave J8 storage facility has video surveillance and electric gate access". Sorry that in no way makes your storage facility safe. If I had access to the video feed today I would know when the trailer was taken and have an answer for the Sheriff. I am certain with the great security they have they are also not one bit liable for anything. trailer 13k, car 20k, house hold goods and collectibles priceless. I hope to hear from Cathleen soon... better yet the Sheriff A friend of mine owned a storage facility years ago, you had to be the person owning the vehicles/trailer/spot you were leaving with. he greeted you as you entered and left. and guess what you came when he was there... interested to find out when day and time the trailer left the lot.... This is a safe, clean facility to store my stuff! It's reasonably priced and Cathleen in the office is wonderful. We have been renting a store room for a few months, now, and recently needed a safe place to park our trailer. They have covered parking spaces. Great! And the spaces aren't all crammed together! I prepaid and was told it would be unlocked when I came. This was not the case. I could not find a person to help me while it was dark and creepy outside. Smh. The storage facility is good and the staff is friendly. However, the monthly price you see online doesn't include insurance they require you to have. Check with your homeowners insurance or renters insurance if your policy includes it. If it does, bring a copy showing it's covered the day you sign up. That'll save you money. It's been about 4 or 5 months since I signed up and I just received a Rate Increase Notice. For my 10 x 5 unit, it's going up by about $15/mo. Lastly, if you need a padlock, their prices are almost twice as much as at Target, Walmart, or U-Haul. read more

At first I wasn't a fan of this storage place due to poor communication, but now I can say I'm happy with the service and location after a conversation with the Manager. It's reasonably priced and very clean. With all the COVID shutdowns you're still able to get service (if you need it). Thank you Extra Space Storage; keep it up! Never again will I rent a unit with Extra Storage!!!! 4 years ago I rented a space and surrendered it after I was done they never had me as checking out of the place. I was sent to collections. The collection agency was nasty and very rude. I remember the nightmare very clear. I was told that If I don't pay up I was going to be sent to court and I was responsible for all the charges. I thought maybe I didn't tell them, but I was right and still had to pay the collection company fees. Forward to February 2014. My husband and I bought a house and we needed to store some of our stuff. He went and got a unit because I couldn't do it prior to the nightmare I had with them 4 years ago. We moved our stuff out 2 or 3 weeks after we got the unit. My husband was able to get things done fast. He surrendered the unit last days of February. This last weekend we get an email that we owe them money. They are doing the same thing that they did to me 4 years ago. We both went into the office when we surrendered it and AGAIN they neglected to take my husband off the system. I called them this morning at let them know. The young lady that we talked to in person answer the phone and said "Oh did your husband came in our office to let us know?" Duh yes we did!!! Please beware of this place. I can't believe it happened to us twice. Here I was thinking it was my mistake but I now I know we did our part and the place neglected to do their part. Ask for a paper saying that you surrendered your unit. Don't take their word for it. I bet this is how they make their money by taking people to collections and get more form you. They should be reported to Better Business Bureau for their business practice. I wonder how many people in the AV has gone through this nightmare. Very sad. read more

First of all I like that you get a month free and also you get to use a U-Haul truck free for 1 day to move your stuff. Well they seem to be nice and clean also service with a smile. also one day I thought I locked my storage they called me a few hours later and told me that I locked the lock but not the storage and when would I be able to come down and lock it correctly. so they're doing their job they knew that I came there that day morning and they went and checked my storage that's good security to me.I appreciate that nothing seem to be open and missing so they're trustworthy thank "God" read more
