They tried to say that according to California law, I was required by law to have an asbestos test , which is not true.
On the first day, they did not do what my insurance company said needed to be done. SCIENTIFIC RESTORATION (SRS) just set up a bunch of dryers but never opened the walls or removed wet insulation.
Even though they didn't do any demolition, they bill like it had been removed. After my insurance company came to inspect their work, SRS claimed had been completed they noticed that SRS did not do the work, but they asked for over 1,800 dollars more for work they did not do.
Later, SRS changed their story and said it was for heaters and filters in drying out the walls. SRS claimed they didn't need to demolition any material because it was clean water, so removal was not necessary. Then ( SRS) said dryers would dry everything, including inside the walls insulation, so removal or replacing damaged material was not required. They didn't check for mold damage.
Then they lied to my insurance company and told them that I said they didn't have to do a demolition. If that was the case, why would I send text messages asking when they were coming to do the demolition on my walls, floors, carpet, and cabinets. They double billed on service for my HVAC. They weren't qualified to remove the HVAC, and I'm setting in a freezing house . They billed for removal and installation but never installed. They billed for a temporary water heater but never removed or installed the temporary hot water heater.
The only work that was completed was removing the platform for the hot water heater. They put about 8 to 10 heater to dry out the walls of a small area that would not have been needed if they had opened walls.
They damaged my door jam and threshold when they removed my washer and dryer. Later, they said maybe someone else did it. They removed doors, never reinstalled the doors, and then told my insurance company there were no doors.
They had the nerve to say that I could not use my own contractor for repairs, and I had to use who they wanted. No, it's my house, and I decide who does the work. The only thing SRS does is to pay for damages.
They wanted close to eight thousand dollars for removing drywall and installation on platform for a hot water heater, putting two plastic containment barrier... they only remove one of the barriers.
Based on my research and observation, SRS from the beginning had no intention of doing the work properly. If they were going the job right, they would have opened the walls, removed the wet insulation, ripped up the flooring, and removed the cabin in the bathroom. But SRS chose to show that I wasn't worthy of having my house repaired correctly. read more
