Our experience with Desert Dry Restoration (Fernando Ventura) was extremely disappointing. After…read morethe Palisades fire, we hired Fernando to help with debris removal and restoration work on our property. Unfortunately, he was unable to complete the job because he did not have the proper licensing required to perform the work. We waited over four months for him to obtain his contractor's license, but he failed the test and never became properly qualified. We ultimately had to hire another licensed, reputable contractor to finish the job correctly. To make matters worse, after our new contractor completed the cleanup and restoration, Fernando illegally dumped debris from his roll-off back onto our cleared lot. When I confronted him, he admitted doing it and promised to reimburse the cost we incurred to have it removed -- yet three months later, we are still waiting for payment. Adding insult to injury, Fernando is using a set of photos of our home on his Google profile as an example of his "work" in the Palisades. This is completely misleading -- he did not complete the project and did not have the proper HAZWOPER certification to handle or dispose of debris. We trusted Desert Dry Restoration during a very difficult time and were met with unprofessionalism, dishonesty, and additional expense. I strongly recommend verifying licenses and credentials before hiring and would not recommend this company based on our experience.

Zachary came out to assess it the day we called him and had an estimate for us that same day. He was very honest and thorough by stating what our options were and what the pros and cons were. When it carne time to do the work his crew was amazing. They did everything he said they would do, and they were very friendly and knowledgeable, too. They cleared the water damaged and replaced the drywall so well it doesn't even look like we ever had an incident. The rate was very reasonable, too. We did have to make a deposit first, and then pay final payment when the work was complete which I expected and is fair. Overall we are VERY pleased and will use him and his services again. I called and Kyle answered the phone and quickly sent out Elvis, our assigned representative. He explained in detailed what they were going to do and quickly set up fans and air scrubbers. The process was long because of the extent of the damage. Elvis and Mike were the two people that came out and had to tear down half the wall in our kitchen and completely gutted our bathroom. For over a week they came daily to perform a different task because that is how the process works, the walls needed to be sanitized and treated to prevent mold from forming. Elvis and Mike worked diligently each day, and they covered the entrances to the kitchen and bathroom as well as protected my floors before starting the work, they were always so nice and polite. Tearing down walls can cause a lot of dust to fly around, however, there was little to no dust after they were done, they cleaned and left the areas they used spotless, including the stairs that led to our bathroom. Our adjuster had a few requests and Kyle was able to quickly send out his team. He was always available when I needed to speak with him and quickly replied to my requests and questions. We have had work done on our home before however, I have never seen the level of care and professionalism Mike and Elvis gave us. Thank you! I've already recommended him personally to my friend when she told me recently she had a leak in the apartment. Josh really is he best at customer service. Water mitigation is complicated and he means it when he tells you to call him at any time. He always answers his cell phone and is polite and clear. He comes to meetings early, is always prepared, and is genuinely kind -- something that can't be undervalued when you're recovering from the devastation of flooding. And, importantly, josh doesn't JUST know water damage. He's got a ton of experience working with insurance companies and will help manage that portion of the process and guide YOU through it so you can get what you need back to rebuild your home.
