Our experience with Desert Dry Restoration (Fernando Ventura) was extremely disappointing. After…read morethe Palisades fire, we hired Fernando to help with debris removal and restoration work on our property. Unfortunately, he was unable to complete the job because he did not have the proper licensing required to perform the work. We waited over four months for him to obtain his contractor's license, but he failed the test and never became properly qualified. We ultimately had to hire another licensed, reputable contractor to finish the job correctly. To make matters worse, after our new contractor completed the cleanup and restoration, Fernando illegally dumped debris from his roll-off back onto our cleared lot. When I confronted him, he admitted doing it and promised to reimburse the cost we incurred to have it removed -- yet three months later, we are still waiting for payment. Adding insult to injury, Fernando is using a set of photos of our home on his Google profile as an example of his "work" in the Palisades. This is completely misleading -- he did not complete the project and did not have the proper HAZWOPER certification to handle or dispose of debris. We trusted Desert Dry Restoration during a very difficult time and were met with unprofessionalism, dishonesty, and additional expense. I strongly recommend verifying licenses and credentials before hiring and would not recommend this company based on our experience.

They do a very complete job leaving things like the problem never happened. My walls and ceilings were replaced (new drywall) and painted perfectly. When they couldn't repeat the paint that was there, they painted the entire room a new color and did a perfect job. The first time i used them they have to move a cabinet with a lot of delicate items in it. The emptied the cabinet, moved it, repaired the wall, put it back and put back all the items just like they were before. When I came home later, it looked like they magically repaired the wall without moving the cabinet. For the most recent work done, they also cleaned my carpet in two rooms and replaced the padding in one. They were a little sloppy. When I moved the bed later, the carpet was clearly not cleaned. That would be my only complaint. Overall, excellent work and I would recommend them to anyone, anytime.

Ask for Tony to be your plumber! My friend did some yard work for me and discovered a tiny…read moresprizting leak on the pipe next to my water heater. I tried to stifle the spray with a towel and hunnnay! The mf pipe EXPLODED, sending a gush of water out like a full blast hose! It turned into a water park REAL QUICK! Of course, being the genius that I am, I fixed the situation myself by having a panic attack while running around my back yard like a headless voodoo chicken trying to figure out where the damn water shut off switch is. (Couldn't find it... don't judge me I just bought this house so I've yet to figure out where all the buttons are lol.) So the water is flowing, and so is my adrenaline. I dailed 3 pluming services. The first couldn't work on the types of pipes I have, the second just told me to just shut off the water because she didn't have a serviceman to help me (seriously) so I hung up on that hoe. Then I just called roto-rooter.... I must admit, in desperation. I remember the commercials from the when I was a kid. I didn't think they'd be able to do anything.... I mean, how helpful can a company with an 80s jingle and cheesy commercial be? But I was desperate. Hunnnay! PUT SOME RESPECK ON ROTO-ROOTERS NAME! Tony came out in 30 min! On Good Friday no less! He didn't have the right pipe (my pipes are discontinued apparently) but he figured out a way to cap the flowing water, and STILL get me water to the house, even though it was cold only. He promised to return today with the proper pipe to fix it this morning! As he was leaving, 3 more specialty guys from the company showed up to address any water damage and harm it could've done to my property, as well as dry it and make it safe... WHAT?! That was NO EXTRA CHARGE! They were ready to contact my home owners insurance and make it seamless for me... which thank God it didn't need it, as it was on an outside wall with no insulation or chance for mold. Yaaaaay! Tony came back ON TIME this morning and finished the job quick and clean! I'll never ever ever use another plumber service! Bomb af!

The technician came out and…read morequoted us over $3,800 just for "leak detection," without even opening the wall or doing any meaningful work. That didn't sit right, so we got a second opinion from a local plumber. They opened the wall, found the issue, and fixed it in about an hour--at a fraction of the cost. To make matters worse, during the visit the technician dented our dryer and did not take responsibility. This felt like a major upsell with no real effort to diagnose the problem. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to any large quote.

Short version: 1) Lack of Price Transparency: I was not…read moreinformed about the cost of the inspection before the service was performed. During the service call, when I asked about the cost, I was told there was no fee for the visit, but that I would have to pay when requesting an official report. 2) Incomplete Services: Servpro failed to deliver the promised services, specifically the "detailed estimate, scope of work, and photo report" that was clearly defined and advertised by ServPro representative, Joanna *****, to be included in the $350 service charge. 3) Unresponsive Behavior/Nonperformance: Servpro's lack of communication and responsiveness, especially during critical times, led to confusion and frustration. This includes the failure to generate or send the report to my insurance company. 4) Billing to Incorrect Insurance: Servpro incorrectly billed Insurance Claim A for Inspection B without my authorization, leading to complications with my insurance and financial strain on my part. 5) Unethical Billing Practices: The discovery that Servpro attempted to bill my insurance directly and without my knowledge or consent raises ethical concerns about their business practices. Long version: My experience with Servpro has been quite frustrating. It started in the last week of December 2022, when I noticed slight water damage in my hall closet and called them for an inspection. I opened a Claim A with Insurance A for the relatively minor damages. During the inspection, I noticed that none of the contracts and documents I signed stated a fee for the inspection so I asked the inspector, David, directly and he told me there was no fee for the visit, but I would have to pay for an official report. I emailed my ServPro case manager, Joanna, and she told me via email: "To answer your question, there is a $350 Service Call charge. With this you would be provided with a detailed estimate, scope of work, and photo report. Should coverage be afforded, this is something the insurance might cover as well. " Things took a drastic turn on January 1st, 2023 when my house was severely damaged in the windstorm disaster, resulting in the roof being ripped off and causing severe water damage in three rooms. I called a local company for emergency assistance, and they pressured me to work with them on both Claim A and B. However after 3 weeks of stringing me along that company disappeared! (That company went out of business) Water damage turned to mold and my house began rotting from the inside out. Turning back to Servpro, I called about Claim B in tears and spoke with someone new (not my original rep Joanna) for over 20 minutes. I genuinely apologized for how poorly I'd handled Claim A. I explained that the other company that responded to the disaster emergency pressured me to work with them and then they disappeared after stringing me along for four weeks. I told ServPro that I had a $20,000 check in hand and was ready to sign it over immediately and I'd give ServPro both projects. The woman was very kind and understanding and sent Ryan out to my house the next. I was told that work could start on 2/10/2023. I sent all my necessary insurance work and connected ServPro directly with my insurance so I wasn't a middleman. I thought I had done everything right to make amends. The inspector from ServPro was, in fact, prompt in coming to my house to assess the damage as scheduled. After the site visit, no Xactimate (or similar) work estimate was provided. No one from ServPro responded to my repeated requests for copies of the estimates, nor had anyone reached out to schedule the start of work. Over the next week, I called and emailed every single day trying to schedule the start of work, and asking for a report. On my 5th call (Feb 15th) for updates I was told that "estimates had been submitted to my insurance on 2/13/2023 and were "pending approval" from my insurance", and I again requested copies be sent to me. So I spoke with my insurance and discovered that no one from ServPro had been in contact with my insurance, nor had my adjuster received any copies of estimates from ServPro to approve! So I terminated our contract for nonperformance, and NO ONE RESPONDED. ServPro just completely ghosted me. Eight months later I received a bill from them for $365 for the inspection. In my attempts to clarify the situation, I discovered Servpro had silently billed Insurance A for Inspection B, for incomplete services without my authorization. The passive-aggressive approach taken by Servpro has left me frustrated. After months of trying to resolve this privately, they have told me that if I do not pay by the end of the month they will hand the erroneous bill over to collections. In conclusion, my journey with Servpro has been marked by communication issues, unauthorized billing, and financial strain. I hope this review sheds light on the difficulties I've faced and serves as a cautionary tale for others considering their services.

Rico and Albert were also extremely helpful while onsite with getting rid of excess trash left.
