Be careful and read your contract, this place has raised the price at least 3x's already on us!! What seems like a great deal for all you newbies becomes a rip when they continue to raise the rates which are now up to $152/mo for our box "per your agreement" which started at $95 in 2012. A whopping $57 a MONTH increase and for what exactly? What could possibly warrant a $50/mo increase? Better security, better access, longer hours of operation? None of these that I know of. read more

They broke into my storage unit, made up some story about "how they caught the guy right after he cut my lock so they knew he didnt steal anything" made me come replace my lock and then raised the price on my rent the next month. When moving out I found a bag of rat poison tucked under my stuff in the front corner which proves they were the ones who cut my lock and they lied about it. Called the store to confront them and after making multiple excuses and explaining what their actually process was how they contact you to ask for access (which they were obviously too lazy to do and wanted to invade my privacy instead) and told me I could contact their district manager. The district manager told me "it was your word against theirs" even though all the evidence points to them lying but they didn't want to compensate for their dishonesty so just wanted to let everyone know DON'T GIVE THESE SHADY LIARS YOUR MONEY CAUSE THEY MIGHT CUT YOUR LOCK INSTEAD OF JUST ASKING FOR PERMISSION LIKE THEY SAID THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO !!! They also told me "some units they can access from the top and can just throw it down in there, but I had a desk in the front that it would have landed on if that were the case but instead was tucked under a painting that was leaned against the wall at an angle. Even if they threw it all the way against the wall, IT WOULDNT HVE BEEN *UNDER* THE PAINTING AGAINST THE WALL AT AN ANGLE. WHOLE LOT OF LIES !!!!! read more

I've been renting for a couple of years. Had to downgrade once because the rental increases about 10% a month. There used to be some decent people there, but when I went today there was only girl in there. She said the other person was on vacation. Really? Only 2 people running the whole facility. There were 3 people in the room ahead of me. She told me that I came in the 'wrong' door and would have to circumnavigate the units to come in the other door. When I went to the unit, the light was out. This is the second time this has happened. It takes an hour or more to get a bulb replaced, because these are not people accustomed to the word hustle. I didn't bring my cell, because I figured I would be in and out of the unit in half an hour. So I couldn't even catch up with my business. When I got around the units and came back there was just one person there, She said 'you need to stand outside, because of covid. Funny, when I came in the first time there was no problem with 3 people being in that room. She was obviously power tripping, playing nurse Ratchet. She smirked as I drove out. Asking me for a quick review is hard because I could go on all day writing a positive review for this location, how much I truly love it here, and give the staff Keith & Sarah more than just 5 stars. Because they definitely deserve more than that! They are both no longer just some regular boring management staff representing this storage location. I originally reserved a storage space via their website (rates are competitive and the location is really convenient to where I live). Keith was the manager on duty when I went to sign the contract and the place is clean, very easy to move items into, and Keith was very friendly and courteous during the whole process from start to finish. Just so you all know, i wrote a review 8 months ago when my unit was broken into on 9-28-2016, well, nothing happened! For some reason the surveillance camera's were not clear. LOL!! What a joke!! Are you kidding me?? How convenient huh??? Oh and the best part is, after my unit was broken into and knowing what the value was lost, they so happen to change their security system. LOL!! Called to make a payment on my locker.It was couple months pass due. forgot to pay ir before my vacation in Europe. I would NOT recommend using this facility and I feel this strongly! The staff or manager was abusive and belligerent when I entered the office to tell him my entry code was not working. My friend moved the car up to the gate while i plugged in my code. I tried it 4 times without success. As i entered the office another car pulled behind her thereby blocking her from backing up and entered there key code in the gate. once the gate opened there was nowhere for her to go except forward which meant she would be entering the gate. The manger immediately began yelling that she just tailgated in and that is not allowed telling me over and over while i tried to explain to him that there was no other direction for her to go and that you now have my personal info plugged into the computer so there should not be any problem of knowing who came in because you just manually just put in yourself. The manager just kept getting more belligerent and told me I need to leave the premises. I told him I was about done dealing with him when he accused me of threatening him and told me to leave the property as he was calling the police. I told him there would be ample proof of this as you have cameras up everywhere so go ahead and call the police. As i assumed he did so , i did not have time to wait for a non emergency call to get there so I was forced to drive off. I have used several different storage facilities and have never had the bad responses that I have encountered here at this facility. I was searching on line for a storage unit. I got a sixty day notice that my landlord is going to sell the rental home ai resided in for 21 years. I (and my Mother who lives with me) have a lot of things that need to be stored, as we are looking fro an apartment. I ran across Extra Storage in Huntington Beach. They had a special going, 1st month half off plus an on line rate. I called and spoke with Keith, and he was very nice and answered all my questions, We then went to the storage place and met with him and they had a reservation for us to have a 10x20 ft unit (2 10x10 units) We went to see the units and they looked like the size we needed. After thinking about it over night we went back, and signed up with Warren. We were very impressed with both Keith and Warren. They were both great. I've been in sales for over 7 years and have several storage facilities that I've worked with over different cities and the Huntington Beach Extra Space Warner site is by far the best facility that I've worked with. I had to move out of the state for a year, so i left absolutely all of my things in the storage. All i took with me was my 2 luggages. I left all of my clothes, everything for my house (sheets, towels, plates, silverware, curtains, all my photo albums, my collections of things from all my trips, and everything u can imagine a person has i left it all. I came back after 15 months and went to my unit and there was nothing but some books.... All my 6 hugh boxes and my 3 suitcases with clothes and all my shoes all of it was gone !!!!!! I called the site manager who told me "im sorry there is nothing we can do." I called the police and file a report.. And now im talking with the insurance to get some of my money back... But the point is this place is NOT SAFE !!! If somebody broke into my unit, im sure they can break into somebody elss. And now that all my belonings are stolen... They are not taking any responsability for it !!! We (the clients) pay to leave our things secure, we trust Extra Space Storage to at least keep it secure. They are the professionals... And when something like this happens, they just wash their hands off !!! It is not fair. Even if i get the money from the insurance... That wont cover all the expenses, or the time consuming that is to go and get everything back, but the worst thing is to lose all of those things (like photo albums, family items, all my treasures) that will never be able to get back, and that are only valuable to me and my family!!! p.s.- i only gave 1 star because it doesnt let me give 0 stars !!! read more

Do not store your things here.......we had a 5x10 and wants to move to a 5x5......easy right? Simple move? Not at all......first of all....it was impossible to get them on the phone....I called for days because we dont have the Tim to go down there till we know we can make the move......nobody answered, and can you leave a message? No.....voicemail box is full, for six days straight......I also emailed them, and never got a response back....utterly ridiculous.....i mean I had get online and get the number for the corporate office and complain to a customer service representative to get them to email the on site manager......then....after all that just to move a storage size.....they make us close the account we had, re open a new one, redo all the paperwork like a new customer.....and charged us a move in fee like we haven't been a customer for a while now.......seriously.....if we knew it was going to be like this, we would never had come here in the first place......we plan on getting out of here asap. DO NOT GO HERE!! I started off this day with a 5 star review. Keith asked me to give a review and told me his boss didn't think he could get a google review this week. Turns out they really want reviews, but they are lacking in putting the customer first. We had rented a 7 x 10 with a special on the internet for $90. Before we unloaded, we measured the unit and it was only 7 x 8! We told Keith and he had us look at another and it was 7 x 9. He then told me the measurements are approximate. The only 7 x 10 they had available was on the first floor and it was for $106. At this point I was so incredibly frustrated, as we had our truck waiting to unload. We told him we would take it and then I told him I was aggravated that he had really wanted me to give him a good review and now I wish I hadn't. He told me his hands were tied and the district manager made the decision. I said why should I have to pay extra for your mistake. Then he basically refused to rent me any unit and refunded my money. There is truth and then there are lies. If they were upfront with the measurements, they'd have to charge less money. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND RENTING HERE. Fortunately we found the size we wanted at SEACLIFF SELF STORAGE. It was larger than they said for a better price! read more

I want to aknowledge an employee at thus location, Sean. The staff at this location has always been very helpful and quite nice. I want to call out Sean. I was having a rough day to start w and then I had to spend some time at my storage going through some things. The former storage facility had made some errors which caused me to be mistakenly put on an auction list and it was and I had no clue until I went to my unit and found it empty. I had a small garage full that I brought over to extra space hb and as I was going through it I was remembering all that I lost and was very sad. Sean pointed out a few things to me that made me feel so much better and reminded me , all the while being sensitive to My situation and recent tragedy . I always appreciate when ones job is more than just a job to them. Sean did not have to show any regard or concern for how I was after seeing me upset but he did.
