I moved in on September 3 on a month to month contract. I stored some items that did not fit in my apartment. The place seemed fine. It is not climate controlled, which was disclosed to me, but they said it had heating and a dehumidifier. On December 1, I received a message that they are doubling my rent in 30 days, which is clear bate and switch, and shady business practices. They know it's challenging and expensive to move so they attract you with a lower rate and take advantage of you once you are moved in. They also require a 30-day move out notice so I have to tell them now that I'm moving out without having a moving company lined up if I want to avoid the rent hike. I now have to coordinate a move during the holidays. I strongly recommend avoiding this place. See photo below. For reference my rent was $46 before. Moving is zero fun and never easy. I showed up needing a bigger locker than I had booked. Paul was so helpful in helping me choose one in a great location. My moving truck and Jeep all fit into an enclosed, secure loading dock with lots of dollies and an elevator available (didn't use that, though). I still can't believe how much less time unloading the truck was compared to loading it. Happy I chose this place in a super easy location with lots of parking. read more

Paul and his team were great at selling me a unit based on my description of items I needed to store. Everything was handled easily by phone, and I was able to access my contract easily on my cellphone. The unit was clean. The facility has many loading docks, and elevators. They also have boxes available for purchase. Everyone had on their mask, and are practicing safe social distancing. This is a great place to secure a storage unit quickly, for great value, and right off of the interstate too. read more

I belong to an organization that stores quite a few materials here, though I don't have any information on the cost of maintaining our storage unit. The location is quite convenient and there is ample parking. The temperature and humidity are well maintained. Access is convenient, and the loading area is large. There's even a convenient and clean rest room area. There are always enough carts and dollies available. read more

Excellent service by Paul and staff, no storage space has ever been so easy to use and help is right there!

I started renting here last August and within a few months Extra Space raised my monthly rate from $120 up to $165 per month for a 7x10 space!! We had a ton going on including a sick child and didn't have the cycles to deal with it. Fast forward to last month and they send out another notice looking to raise the rate again up to $190 per month. I spoke to two people at the business who both said the same stupid thing, "I'll check into this and get back to you by the end of the day!". The first didn't get back to me until the next day and said the rate would still be going up. I told them we were moving out. In this current economy, Extra Space Storage is within its rights to charge whatever they want. You are a lot better off going to a place like Planet Storage where they structure when rates can be increased into the lease and you are not at the mercy of the "bean counters" at Extra Space Storage. read more

First time using a storage locker and I couldn't have had a better experience with the team here. Setup was easy, bought my lock there, and the facility was clean with big hallways. Plenty of carts to wheel furniture or boxes. Big loading dock to park your vehicle and they are open almost all day. Five stars, will use again for my next move. read more

The space is fine and the location was convenient for me . . . but, beware that they may rip you off. Let me explain: I moved temporarily to South America and paid via credit card. When my return to the US drew near, I logged into their site and informed them of my move out date (4 August). I then paid for August's rent because I would be traveling from 30 July and did not want to wait until 4 August and then pay a late charge. When I emptied the unit and filled out the final paperwork the clerk told me that I would not receive a refund for the unused portion of August (27 days!). He said that they do not refund partial months . . . I tried to talk to several managers and even tried the BBB, but they blew me off telling me that the contract said no partial months refunded. So, fair enough . . . the contract says that in the very fine print on the hard copy that I had in the storage unit; so, they might be technically correct but I own my own business and do not treat people that way. When I signed on to inform them of my move-out date 30 days prior, the site had no information that would alert me. They said if I did not pay for August early, I could have only paid for the 4 days of August when I closed out the unit. I think they acted unfairly and I do not treat my customers like that, especially when they are trying to do what is logically the best to avoid problems. Thankfully, I don't need storage now but if I were to need it, I would never go back to Extra Space Storage. read more

Highest possible recommendation. This is my second time back to the ExtraSpace Storage location on Allied Drive in Dedham, MA. STAFF: Paul Fishman, Manager, is top flight. His professionalism, knowledge of his business, excellent suggestions, and most importantly, his understanding the stress that comes along with moving and willingness to make the transition as smooth as possible have truly impressed. David, Asst. Manager, is excellent as well. FACILITY: The facility is kept clean, yes bathrooms too, at all times. Lighting is better than other storage locations I've used. Access hours are great. Carts are always available. In summary, I'm so pleased with this business that I actually drive a bit further, and by several other storage facilities, to come here. read more
