Park Circle Storage is very convenient to where we live in Ditmas Park, and also shares the block with a zipcar parking lot, which is equally convenient for picking up and dropping off stuff to our unit. We reserved a space online and came in to sign the lease and get the keys. The service is really helpful and customer oriented, the manager was friendly and personable and very knowledgeable and invested in the facility. Unfortunately the unit we reserved online wasn't actually available when we got there, something about the way the system doesn't consider a space rented until the lease is signed in person... so we were disappointed to have to take a smaller space than we planned. However, we were given a discount for the inconvenience, and again the manager went out of his way to make sure we felt good about renting there. He also indicated that they were in the process of expanding, and put us on a wait list for the bigger unit. The facility itself is probably the best storage facility I've ever seen, and I've used several from different companies over the years. It's bright and modern and clean - very clean! I like that it's well lit, the units are metal with metal and concrete doors and floors, which reduces mice and bugs that sometimes plague other facilities. There was absolutely no trace of rodent droppings or bugs anywhere. There are dollies and movable stairs available to make it easier to get your stuff in and out, and I really liked that there was a loading bay in the back of the building where you can pull your car in and unload directly onto a dolly for easier maneuvering. It was GREAT not to have to double park on the street or circle the block to find street parking. The security there is great, when you get your key you get a code so you can come in and out anytime, and I liked that you can set the code yourself so it's easy to remember. I've been back several times to add things to our unit and each time the manager is personable and greets me familiarly, and the whole place just has the feel of a small, local business that really cares about its reputation and customers. Finally, they have other services as well - bike storage, mailboxes for rent and package receiving. I asked a lot of questions about these services, and was really happy to find out that we don't have to sign a contract for any specific time for any of them, we can add or subtract whatever we want as needed. Which means if we want to utilize their bike storage services just for the month of December when our apartment is crowded with guests in and out for the holidays all month we can, and then not be locked in, and the same with package reception, since we don't have a doorman. All in all, I'm super happy with this place, and happy to recommend it.

They had seamlessly loaded the contents of my 650 square foot apartment including large/heavy fragile furniture with glass (8 foot tall dresser with mirror weighing 250 lbs, and 50 galloon reptile tank) in about 1 hour. We promptly left via car to meet them at our new address in Philly, and they arrived at exactly the same time as we did. They unloaded the truck in about an hour again, and helped partially unpack and put items in the proper places, especially the furniture that would have been hard for me to move on my own later. I will continue to use Piece of Cake, and have recommended to several friends over the years that I have been using them. It was quick working with the customer support team initially to quote the move, make payment, and on COIs and confirmation. When we move again in a couple years Piece of Cake will be the only mover I call. My recommendation to others considering the service, be transparent and honest about the contents of your move, especially items requiring extra protection even if there is an additional fee involved. There were no surprise add-ons in my move because we carefully selected every single item that would be included in our move early on in the process, and made sure to reply in detail to the follow up emails regarding insurance, access to the apartments (stairs vs elevator, reserved elevator, etc.), and so on move-in day everything went off without a hitch. The crates stack up very neatly, unlike cardboard boxes, and are much easier for the movers to move. The drop-off and pick-up were punctual and flexible. We originally booked for two weeks - took one week to pack, two days to unpack. BoxUp was able to pick up the crates early and get them out of our way. Reuben did the drop-off and pick-up and was very professional. BoxUp also conveniently offers other packing material to be delivered with the crates. We were scammed out of $59- BEWARE!…read more We rented a van from the Bensonhurst location, for a move just across town. After returning the van, we arrived home and I was able to view my receipt that had been emailed to me. I was surprised to see that they had charged me for almost 45 miles. As suggested by U-Haul, I had taken a photo of the odometer that morning, before we left the lot. The photo I initially took showed a higher starting mileage than claimed by the U-Haul receipt. According to my odometer photo and the ending mileage, we had only traveled around 11 miles, not the nearly 45 miles that they charged us for. The woman helping us that morning was very nice, so I called to tell her that their mileage calculation was inaccurate. I thought that she would be able to resolve the issue, especially since we had a time-stamped photo of the odometer, taken before we left the lot. Instead, she told me that she had sent a link via text for us to upload the photos showing the condition of the van and the odometer, before we left the lot. She said that uploading the photos before we left would have been the only way to prove my claim. There was no such text on either of our phones, and we were never informed that we were supposed to upload photos anywhere. We were only advised to take photos, which we did. If a franchise does not make enough money renting vehicles, they should increase the fees, not cheat their customers. I would have happily paid the $59, if it was an honest charge. Customers should be aware that they are scammers.

They showed up right on time and they were finished just when they said they would be. Yes, it's COVID days, things go wrong, employees don't show up suddenly, but the wonderful Sheas did not leave me hanging, Brian did most of the move on his own (no easy feat when it's a third floor walk up), and Julie helped with the seriously heavy stuff. By 10 PM the move was done, a little later than expected and with warmth, caring and friendliness above and beyond any movers I have known.
