What a seamless process. Everything was done online within a matter of minutes. The mobile app is a great feature as it lets you manage your rental, make payments and conveniently allows you to use NFC to key into the facility or to manually key in your access code. The unit was clean and had the lock waiting for me inside the unit. Extremely well designed. The only drawback was that the listing said it would be a first floor unit, but the only available unit in the size I needed was on the second floor. This facility will even offers you optional 24-hour access to your unit if you need it for an upcharge. I am not personally aware of any other storage facility that has that feature. read more

Went in to find a small unit to keep decorations in and got some great help. Walked thru and checked out a couple of units with the gentleman there. Was very helpful and start to finish was about 15min. Nice to have an app to go with it. Would definitely recommend it to other people. Only time will tell how well secure the units are and how safe my belongings will be there. read more

The initially put the monthly price as discounted, but beware its a trap and manipulative as they will increase the price by 40 dollars in 3 to 4 months to the going rate. Extra Space Storage in Anaheim is an excellent facility. The staff is very friendly and always helpful. The facility grounds and hallways are clean and the hallways are well lit. The units are clean, not worn or "beat up". I had two units and had a light inside. The facility is easy to find and access. Extra Space Storage in Anaheim Hills/Savi Ranch is a great place to store your items. It's clean and staff is friendly. The carts provided makes moving your items in or out easier. The only thing I would like to see done differently is having the unit price remain the same for a year. The first time I rented a unit from them they increased my rate after 4 months by $20 a month and continued to do so until it was increased by $80 a month. I ended my storage with them after the large hike increase. I've decided to go back but if my monthly rate increases I might have to end my rental. read more

Have had a temperature controlled storage unit with them for 2-3 years now. For the first year they give you a special rate which is industry standard, then the next year the rate will increase and that is understandable. Now they are raising the rate again, where is the loyalty to the people that have been with you? Very disappointed. read more

What I needed its temperature control I have access till 10 p.m. no gated situation it's always clean everybody's friendly the several entries into the actual facility big roomy elevators always have a cart handy and Sham the customer service rep at the front was amazing and helpful thorough and yet he didn't take half a day to get my process finished and they have a restroom on site but you can always go next door to the Home Depot if it's past 6 p.m. I wish I could give it more than more stars near the freeway near gas station near several places to eat great location read more

I like that you can get access later than 6 pm. Good luck trying to get a person on the phone. I kept getting looped back to the start of the automated message because no one would answer when I pushed the option to speak to a representative. Finally got in the car and drive over. Once at the facility I dialed the number posted near the door and got an immediate response. If I hadn't already had one storage unit at the facility I never would have been so patient trying to get a second unit. They really need to improve responsiveness on their main number. read more

Renters beware - I had property stolen from my unit there earlier this year. Very suspicious circumstances - looks like an inside job. I was late on my payment. Per the Extra Space Storage (ESS) guidelines, after about 30 days, the staff will cut off your lock, photograph your unit, and install their lock until you bring your account current (which I ultimately did). After 7 days of this photograph being taken of my unit by the staff at ESS, my unit was broken into (this person(s) knew how to uniquely open my unit door without cutting the lock) and only one item was taken - a high end remote controlled off road truck valued at $500. NO other items were touched, moved or opened (boxes, etc.). Post-theft pictures taken by the ESS staff confirmed this. Only two people (ESS staff) knew what was in my unit. My unit is a small 5x10, on the upper floors, in the middle of the facility. My unit was the only break that weekend. And photographic evidence shows no other units adjacent to mine showed any attempts to break into those units (with that evidence, my unit appears to have been 'targeted' as opposed to randomly walking the hall ways looking for a weak/easy unit to break into). So I wondered, who takes the time to break into a storage unit and only takes one item and doesn't search for possibly more items, higher value, to take? And this person(s) knew the optimal day to do this. Due to the evidence and unusual circumstances with this event, I forwarded a detailed, timelined, photo evidence and other details letter to ESS management and gave them an opportunity to make good and replace the lost item given all the overwhelming evidence of what feel was an inside job. Their response was what you would expect - a hands off, a distance position, separating themselves from any responsibility for any thefts. I understand that anyone renting a facility storage unit should buy insurance and events like this can be protected. But the facility should make an 'good faith' effort to provide you with the best protection they can offer. And if it is an inside job, or a sloppy run business/facility, you have zero chance of protecting your items. And if those items are family possessions and or other items that money can't replace, you're out of luck. And that's exactly what ESS just told me - 'you're out of luck - sorry we can't help you'. So if you have valuable items that you just can't afford to lose or money can't replace, be careful about choosing this facility/company to protect your items. I give them almost $100 per month for rent fees - and my unit is no more secure today than it was on day one. Someone knows exactly how and when to get into my unit without cutting the lock. I hesitated to post this but I feel that I should warn people about the risks you take with renting a unit from the facility/company. read more
