I freaking love this place. I came here for YEARS! Even after moving back to Victoria for a year, they still remembered my name when I walked in! I was always satisfied. Kim- I MISS YOU I would often walk in without an appointment or call earlier in the day and they were always able to get me in. If you wait, you sit in a massage chair with warm water for your feet- no charge. Family run place that treats you like their family too. My nails always lasted 4-5 weeks without any breaking or chipping. Even the time I spent as a boxing instructor, no breaking! The prices are super reasonable! Maybe $50 for a fill on acrylics with a gel overlay. They massage your calves when you get a pedi and don't have hidden fees. Great selection of colours, have everything from neons to nudes. The photo doesn't do it justice. They pay so much attention to detail. File under your fill to make it look clean every time! I never felt rushed and they are super friendly. Tho some of them don't speak much English they always ask how your day is etc. Such sweet ladies! Only critique is they need to update some of their equipment. It might give some people a bad impression before the service. Always sanitary tho! The service itself is so so quality. Now that I've moved to LA, I miss this place so much! read more

I came here on a Wednesday as they have specials and discounts on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. I did the Shellac pedi for 45$ (i think it is normally 50$) and it was done pretty well. Going on about my 3rd week and the polish itself did not chip. My one concern with this place is that they don't use a plastic bag for the sink for your feet. Other places I have tried have a single use (or so we think) plastic bag that lines the sink for sanitary reasons; it mostly puts me at ease. But Exquis nails did not do this which is why I am docking one star. read more

STAY CLEAR FROM THEIR WAXING SERVICES. The girls are lovely here, however, I am inclined to leave my warnings about their waxing services. I regret not saying something at the time of my service because she was a nice person, she was trying her best, and I didn't want the experience to be even more stressful/painful than it already was. Nonetheless this is my experience: The girl I had was completely inexperienced - I question whether she has had any training at all. There were no applications of best practices. The wax was applied incorrectly, in all directions, and hair still remained post treatment (I have many friends & family in the aesthetic industry -and I myself have worked in the industry so I am educated in this). Plus, it was the worst pain I've experienced due to her lack of skill and practice. Yes, waxing is uncomfortable - but this was unnecessarily painful. In addition, my skin was not prepped before (wiped down with a mild disinfectant - and post treatment I had NuSkin cream (network marketing products which they distribute as their side business) applied on my skin which left my skin feeling irritated and red. The room was NOT clean - it was disorganized, dusty, floors had hair everywhere. This doesn't give me a good feeling about how their wax is used and there hygiene processes. I came home immediately after and washed myself off. The environment did not give me a feeling that I was in a safe and clean space. I was also later charged additionally which was not specified during the treatment so I left paying $42 dollars for the worst wax of my life. I pay $28 for a very professional & painless wax at Dona Lucia usually - maximum $40 at nice spas for regular wax (hard wax or speciality waxes of course are more). I hope that this review will be used to positively improve their waxing services. In the mean time, ladies, please be aware of my experience. read more

This is my pedicure go-to place. So far they've never turned me away when I shamble in without an appointment, needing some girly self-indulgence after a particularly soul-sapping day at the salt mines. PROS: -Staff: Brisk and efficient. Friendly. -Service: about $35 (plus tip) for a 1 - 1.5 hour foot soakin', lotion-latherin', callus-gratin', OPI-sloppin' good time. AMBIENCE: -A massage chair that molests your spine just right. -Talk shows airing on the wall-mounted tube (I don't have TV and I enjoy the hour or so of looking at all the Shiny). No rose petals floating in your foot basin, just some blue sudzy stuff from a pink bottle with no label. It's that kind of place. A blue-collar princess kind of place. read more

The women working at this place are very polite and are always speaking highly about how much they like their regular clients. However, while I was there recently getting a pedicure, there was a "regular" also there that I don't think anyone (including his mother) could speak highly of. He did his best to be annoying (he was *obviously* a very very busy *and* important person), but the two women that were working on his nails were phenomenal at remaining professional and smiling the entire time :) After he finally left and the place returned to its normal peacefulness, all three women apologized for his behaviour. They then proceeded to giggle about the whole thing... and encouraged me to do the same. Overall it was pretty funny, as I had scored a "pedicure - with entertainment" :) BTW - I am happily collecting frequent user stamps here... It is a nice bonus they offer where after 6 visits over $25, you get a free manicure, or $20 anything else. read more

Tried this place out last week. I am very happy with the quality of my pedicure. I did go for gel or Shellac and so far so good. It's been a week and no chips or anything. I have gone for gel at some other nearby places and its chipped somehow. The have typical massage chairs and for the most part is a typical nail salon. It was a bit busy but I didn't have to wait and I walked right in with no appointment. Clean and friendly, not overly chatting. read more

The other ladies seemed nice by the one doing my nails was really rude. She left halfway through and didn't come back for 15 mins. No word of where she was going. My nails were ALL either chipped or broke after 12 hours and I'm not hard on my nails at all. Won't be going back. read more

i go to this place when i want some ME time and want to feel like a queen! make sure you have plenty of free time because they can take a long time. i like how the ladies try to make conversation with their barely there english. im also a sucker for compliments ($$) lol, one lady said that my hands were small and cute. she also said that by looking at my hands, im the type that doesnt have to work. I came to Exquis Nails in December with my mom and sister who both got a regular pedicure and gel nails (I only got a pedicure). The space was nice and there were enough staff members for the people who were in the salon. My pedicure ended up looking great BUT the technician cut my big toe when working on my cuticles. If this was all that had gone wrong, I wouldn't give such a harsh review but my sister was also cut on her toes while her pedicure was being done. In addition to that, my sister's black nail polish ended up looking grey/cloudy on some toes. It wasn't an issue with the colour of the polish itself but possibly that oil was rubbed on and not properly washed? Not sure but definitely not what she wanted. We came in on a Wednesday for our treatments and by Sunday every single one of my mom's gel nails had peeled off. These manicures are supposed to last a couple of weeks, not a couple of days! She would have been better off just getting a regular manicure! My sister's nails were also off within the week. When we called to complain, the owner didn't sound at all surprised (I imagine this happens regularly) and instead of offering to redo the nails or a refund, she said that we could come back and have them done for free IF WE PAID FOR a pedicure...essentially still trying to get more business. This is my favorite place in Vancouver to get a pedicure. A couple months ago I was getting a pedi and while she was working on my nails I asked her why my nails were turning slightly yellow. She told me that it was the chemical that exists in nail polish and offered to do everything except the nail polish for my appointment. She filed all the yellow off and said not too come too often if I didn't want to aggravate the issue. I think it speaks volumes when the employee puts the customers well being before profit. read more

I had nothing but good things to say about this place LAST summer, when it was a different place. The gals are the same, but the quality is not. I've been there a bunch of times since it changed over, and wasn't happy with the results. The straw that broke the camel's back was when I went there last week and had a manicure. It took forever, and then it lasted but TWO DAYS! The polish started chipping day one. I don't really recommend it. Sorry ladies! read more

I got acrylic nails which were very thick, messy and looked very bad. The cost was $76.00. I had to ask to have it all re-done. They re-did it but failed to tell me I would be charged $21.00 additionally for removing the old messy job. Very rude and poor business ethics. read more

I started frequenting this nail salon as it's close to my office. The salon is very big and the decor is a little outdated and tired, but don't let that fool you. The ladies are all very friendly, professional, fast and they know what they're doing. After going to another salon for almost 10 years I'm happy to make the switch due to convenience and I'm relieved that they are consistent and talented at what they do. I usually get acrylic nails and now I've added shellac on top of that which makes my nails last forever. I love sitting in the massage chairs while getting a pedicure. My husband even got a massage there recently which he said was very relaxing. They also have a frequent rewards card. read more

If there was a 0 rating I would choose that, been going here for over 10 years for my pedicure and manicure and have never ever had an issue with the workers, manager or there service. I went yesterday to get a shellac pedicure which by the way was ($58) since the owners and workers have changed and it's now J Do and not Exquis. The worker didn't even clip my nails and when I told her I wanted them straight they were literally all filed down into lil stubs. the polish job was horrible and she cut me a couple times. and even then I had no issue then 2 of the workers came and harassed me because they themselves didn't put the right total into the machine, and come running after me trying to accuse me of not paying instead of apologizing and saying I didn't put the right amount in. after all that I still paid until I finally looked down at my toes and seen the horrible mess I went back and asked for a refund for atleast $20/$25 (just half of the total because I did understand that she took time to do them. Then the manager came in all red and ready to start a problem with me and kept on telling me I will fix it you can't fix the nails when there's barely any left because of her worker. At the end of all that she gave me a $10 coupon for next time such a joke. Incredibly spacious and inviting interior. The women working here are very professional and well trained. Loving my new red nails for the Christmas holiday season, they did a fantastic job unlike the last place I went to which was more expensive and chipped off the second day. Tried this nail salon for the first time this morning and I am very happy with the service. They fit me in on short notice and were super friendly. The salon was clean and the girl was very hygienic. I had a shellac pedicure and she did it perfectly. She was gentle and very thorough. I will definitely go back again. Important note, they have a huge selection of shellac polish colours. The largest I've seen in any salon. The only reason I have not given five stars is because of the smell. I think one of the staff was heating up some breakfast so the place smelled of microwaved food. It's a pretty minor issue in the grand scheme of things. Overall a fantastic experience. read more

I get my nails done here all the time and come at least every 2 weeks for a fill for my gel nails or pedicure. I've been getting my nails done for over 15 years and have had them done all over the country at lower end and very high end places (I'm talking about $130 for a set of gel nails.. Yikes.) So with that I am happy to say that Kim and her team are amazing! They are professional and friendly and always make sure you are happy with the service before you walk out. They will always try to fit a client in and never turn anyone away (yes, that includes that lady with her 4 screaming children who would not stop running around all over the place). You will definitely need to make sure you have more time than visiting your usual walk in nail places, my fills take around 75 min to an hour and a half, and pedicures take around an hour or more depending on dry time. That being said, they take customer service very seriously and really take the time to make sure you are satisfied. The quality of their work is great too - my gel nails will still look good after 3 weeks despite of regrowth and the polish on my feet stays on for more than 2 weeks sometimes. Prices are extremely reasonable, the people are amazing, and the place is hygienic and clean - what more can you ask for? :) read more

I get a shellac manicure every 3 weeks at my usual place but I decided to try Exquis because its closer to where I live and it had 4.5 stars so I thought why not try it. I was extremely disappointed and will never go back. I don't think the lady who painted my nails had ever painted nail before. The color on them is uneven, you can tell where she missed when putting the second coat, some don't even go up to the tip of the nail on some. And to top it off she went outside the nail with the polish, it's all over my fingers and didn't bother trying to get it off. She just did not care, one of the other girls working there had to tell her to clean the polish off the top of my hand. Needless to say I didn't tip her and I left angry. read more

I've always had good experiences, and my most recent shellac manicure lasted perfectly for almost 4 weeks! They have special deals on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so I always try to go then. I've been coming here for 5 years regularly. That is not because of convenience to my home or work, but because of the quality of service that I receive every time I walk in the door. The women who work here are professional, friendly, kind, and hard working. I've been to different places and still on the occasion go elsewhere for the random appointment with friends, but I have never received the same treatment elsewhere. The women at Exqus Nails really take the time to give you a solid massage, they pick, pry, scrub, and smooth every piece of skin and calus on your feet. They got amazing new massage chairs and you can watch 2 TVs while you sit in total relaxation. My favourite girl is Kim (might be the owner) who is anal about her work and does FANTASTIC gel nails. I cannot say enough good things about the cleanliness and friendliness of this place. A real gem! read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE!! DISRESPECTFUL TECHNICIANS. I had the worst experience here at the salon an hour ago. There were three technicians one pregnant and the other two that were totally disrespectful. I went in with two broken nails and asked them for a repair at once she said that would not be possible because they were busy and lucky enough they did accommodate me in 15 minutes. Not long after she started applying the acrylic nail when the rest of my nails were GEL. she then started to argue that actually all your nails are acrylic and she had done it for me two weeks ago when it was clearly 2 weeks..(three other salons that i have visited in Kitsilano last atleast for a month.. They do not easily break.. I clearly stated that there is a curvature difference between acrylic and gel and its pretty obvious. The manager then when onto complain to a different guest about me and I immediately voiced out that there was no reason to vent to another customer about a customer and that it only makes the nail salon look bad. She vented out saying if you dont want to pay its fine. I said i will pay for it but i will also make sure the owner knows what's happening here without her notice. She said you were here 3 weeks ago and it was Acrylic Nails that she charged me for and continued to justify and disrespect me pushing my hand onto the UV unit.. There is noway i will suggest this place to anyone moving on forward. When requested for the owners name she refused and gave a name called Jenny. I am persistent to find the owner to complain.
