As a customer for nearly two years and after a very pleasant and recent visit, I thought it was finally time to write a review. Nailtastic is by far the best nail salon I've ever been to in Vancouver. All of their employees consistently provide quality service and ensure that the customer always comes first. You never have to worry if your usual nail technician isn't available because all of them are very well trained and astute to your needs. From greeting you upon entry to offering you a beverage during your visit, customers are guaranteed to receive a warm welcome. Sometimes when I have difficulties selecting a color or design, they are patient with me and even help me find what I am looking for. During a few of my prior appointments, they tested the color, shape, and design to see if I would like it before finishing the manicure or pedicure. In one instance where the gel chipped on one nail, they even fixed it for me free of charge. Not to mention, they always take their time and you never feel rushed despite them being frequently busy, especially on the weekends. If you haven't already, I highly recommend making a visit to Nailtastic. It's also important to book an appointment over the phone. I always do this and they are so flexible. Booked an appointment 30 min prior to visit and reception was keen to put customers first.As I arrived,staff were very helpful yet not as professional as expected for a nail salon.Left with many cuticles that were noticeable and had to repetitively ask to have removed.Went for threading service for eyebrows and though the end product of the eyebrows was neat,the staff ended up cutting my skin which bled after I left because I realized they put on so much cotton on top to only temporarily stop the bleeding,failed to mention it and ushered me out quickly.Went back and a staff member said there was nothing they could do. It was a good experience for the price! I got a gel removal then a gel manicure. Tracy was lovely, she was very attentive to my comments and let me see a few colours before I decided. Friendly and gentle with shaping, as I prefer it. I have short nails so I always fear getting my skin cut when I get shaping done. But Tracy was good about it. I paid 28$ + tips for my gel manicure. They have daily specials every day, and I went on a day they had 10% off. They also have student discounts which I appreciate. read more

AWFUL customer service. This was my first time coming here and I won't be back. We had an appointment and felt like we were being rushed to pick out a colour and take our seats. The water was cold when I first put my feet in and I don't know how long it had been sitting there. The pedicure itself was mediocre, nothing amazing nothing awful. The girl who did my nails was not very social. They were busy because it was a Tuesday and they offer discounts on pedicures on Tuesdays. Not worth it. I would rather pay full price and have it done properly. Once the pedicure was finished the girl who did it brought me over a fan to dry my nails. Then the manager (or who I assumed was the manager) kept walking by, obviously anxious to have us finished as there were people waiting. He turned the HEAT on the fan (keep in mind this has been one of the hottest weeks in YVR). After about 2 minutes he came over and touched my 4th toe and said "you're done". I said "you JUST turned the fan on, there is no way they are dry". He kept pushing that because it's summer it's fine and they are dry. He pushed me out of the chair and started barking at the girls to clean it. I just got home and my big toe has a giant smudge right in the middle of the polish because he forced me out before my toes were dry. Save your money. There are better nail salons in this city. read more

Nailtastic is a great place to be a regular - I go to this location for shellac manicures ($25), pedicures and Brazilian waxes ($30). The staff are amazing because they are genuinely invested in the customers and they do great work, especially with their keen attention to detail (eg. Remember the nail color you like, shaping your nails, taking out the tweezers and finding every last hair, etc). Nailtastic is the best nail salon in point grey and kitsilano combined. Their prices and customer service cannot be beat, but more importantly, their quality product in shellac/gel/acrylic etc is phenomenal. Don't waste your money or time going elsewhere, head here and leave leave with both a new friend and an amazing mani/pedi! read more

I randomly found this nail salon when I was waiting for the 99 bus across the road close to the Royal Bank of Canada. When I first entered, I was greeted by many friendly Vietnamese ladies and I had a very good first impression of the salon--even though I still remain overwhelmed by the number of nail polish that they have... The salon has a welcoming atmosphere, there was a sign which states that they only used dentist grade sterilization (I believe them because I see that their tools come in sealed packages)... I think its also really cool that they have massage chairs while you get your pedicure and manicure, very relaxing. The nail ladies are extremely thorough and detailed with their work. Having been here three times, I am very happy with the level of service that they provide. The boss (probably the only male in the salon) is also very involved and hands-on, he helps them clean up and would offer clients tea or water. What a refreshing change from the usual bosses that would just sit at the counter and count money. I would also like to recommend JUDY to do your nail services. Extremely bubbly and cheerful young woman, I enjoy our conversations and I will miss her when I leave Vancouver. I understand that Nailtastic offers other services which I have no had a chance to try, such as massage and waxing. Anyway, there's a 5% discount for students on Sunday (I think), and they have a discount for a different service everyday. read more

I have since found out that the owners were stealing their employee's tips. I know that many of the women working there were forced to look for other jobs when they found out what was happening. It makes me sick that most unsuspecting customers have tipped at the front counter wanting to reward excellent service only to have the owners pocket the tip (or most of it) If you do go to this salon please make sure to tip your service provider directly! Better yet, go somewhere else!! I will NEVER go to this crooked salon again! If you are looking for Sophia and Sally they are at Allure Nails on Granville near Broadway. I went for a gel mani last week as I was going away for the weekend. They did not have the colour I wanted. I felt I was rushed to select another colour. When she showed me the colour it looked as though there was very little left and the polish looked thick. Over the weekend the nail polish started peeling and coming off, less than a week! I went in on the Tuesday to complain and I was told that I would have to pay $10 to redo and see the same technician. I did not agree with that and after much discussion I made an appointment with another technician. When I left with nails that looked a million times better and had clearly been done properly I was told by the owner in a forceful voice to not return as a customer. He was incredibly rude to me. I would not have any dealings with this place!! read more

Not great and not as inexpensive as they used to be. I used to go here regularly because it was cheap, I had some good experiences, and could usually just walk in. But yesterday was my first time back in a while and it was terrible. I asked for a mini manicure because I was short on time and it used to be great value. But this time it was painfully slow, (took an hour!!), they used old polish that refused to dry, so even after sitting for ages under a fan I eventually had to leave and my nails were ruined the minute I left. Complete waste of time and prices have gone up around 30%. read more

Came here because of the great reviews but ewww. When the manicurist brought over a bowl for me to soak my hands I recoiled. There were white floaties throughout the water. She insisted it was air bubbles. I do know the difference between air bubble and floaties. When I swiped my finger around the interior of the bowl it left a track in the dirt. My manicure took about 10 minutes and lasted exactly one day. The pedicure on the other hand was marvelous (although it also didn't last a full week). Hence the second star. I usually get a week out of my manicures and at minimum 3 out of a pedicure- both with regular polish. A very typical chop shop that should be avoided. read more

I got a full set of acrylic nails done with shellac on top and two days after 3 of the nail tips fell of.... may nails are so poorly done for them to fall off just like that. Literally didn't do anything for them to do that. read more

I love this place! This is my go-to place to get my nails done :D The ladies who work here are so friendly and always remember me as soon as I come in (not only will they ask me how I am, but how my sister and dog are too!) They always do a fantastic job on my nails and my mani/pedi lasts a long time! They also do fantastic nail art! I highly prefer the atmosphere here to other nail salons on 10th Ave. Plus, the massage chairs are fantastic and the colourful foot bath tubs are a great aesthetic touch. THE MOST HORRIBLE PLACE. I came in for a gel refill and I had three people worked on me in total. The first girl was slow and she seems like new there. She file my nails too deep that she injured my nails bed so it burned like hell. The second girl was really good, she put the gel on, talk to me n finished the fill. Then the owner women scold at her to stop and moved her to the next customer. She apologized to me but I told her it 's not her fault. Then the owner sent another girl to finished my gel polish. When she finished, the owner came by and pretentiously to tell me" oh! It's nice colour" she then scold at the girl that did my gel colour in her language n took the whole things off. I was speechless n was really upset because I really like the colour n the girl plus I have another appointment to go to. The owner than reapplied the gel color by herself n I did not like her work at all. I paid $45 dollars plus I have to tip all three of the girls each $10 because I felt bad for them to have to work with such a rude owner. I would never want to go back for sure. There are many places in Pointgrey that charged the same or less n make me feel more relax. Now I know all my favourite girls like Sophia, Hanna left at the same time. The facts all seven off them left because when i tip them, the owner did not pass it on to them. There was one time I wanted to clarified this so I came in for a nail repair, they charged $5.00 and I gave $10 cash to give it to my girl. I left n came back in the afternoon to check on it n sure enough, she did not the the money I left for her. Do not come to this place. All the good nail technicians left so the owner hired all new staffs that have no proper training or certification. I don't think the owner, Eva had any either. When you try other nail salons and have disappointments then you will appreciate the great service here at Nailtastic ! I tried this place because my friend is a regular customer. I usually have Mani and never had Pedi, but my experience is awesome. The customer service, cleanness, amazing Mani and good products for a reasonable price. Seriously consider trying this place ! I work in customer service industry and I know sometime how hard it is to maintain or go far and beyond of customer's expectation. This place could accomplish my expectation and go beyond. I received a gift card from my boyfriend for another salon. I used this gift card and got a Gel Mani. I had such a bad Mani, since my Gel polish came of 2 days after. That's why I had to contact my regular esthetician in Nailtastic, Sophie, and ask her if she would willing to do my nails and fix the mess other salon made. I work usually till 6:30 p.m. and sometimes I won't have a day off for 7 - 8 days in a row. I was going to an important meeting and my nails were disaster. So, Sophie accepted to stay longer at work and fix my nails. The whole team had to stay longer because of me :-( Which I felt so bad ! But this made me their long term customer. I tried so many other places and none is like here a combination of cleanness, relaxation, great service, great work, and good price. I love this place. I like the atmosphere - it feels more professional and comfortable than a lot of other places. You can drop in anytime and they can almost always fit you in. Like other reviewers I have sometimes felt rushed but that's the nature of the beast - because I appreciate that they try to accommodate everyone (like me who hates to make appts) I get that sometimes you gotta move quickly. They also have a nice back room with two chairs so if you want a special experience and there are two of you getting manis & pedis, ask for this room. And they always give you free tea or water. Nailtastic does great manis and pedis. Waxing is hit & miss, threading needs some practice. They try to accommodate everyone, so sometimes they seem to finish in a rush to fit in a walk-in. It's also frustrating to arrive for an appointment and have to wait because of the same issue - a walk-in squeezed in on the fly. However, the owners and staff are all very friendly, the atmosphere is comfortable, the choice of colours is amazing, and the nail care is fabulous. read more

Very poor service. For the first time ever, I walked out of a manicure & pedicure. To start, the foot bath water was cold - I had to ask 3 times before it was warmed up. But then, the pedicure started. The esthetician cut right into one of muy cuticles, so that it was bleeding. She tried to ignore it, until it was pointed out to her. Then she trimmed my toenails, including deeply down along the sides, although I asked her repeatedly not to. At this point, I had a very bad feeling about the nail salon and left. read more

I'm go to this salon for few time now for my nails ,waxing and threading.the salon is very clean and modem. The nails girls do good job on my nails . But waxing and threading hit and miss . Came here twice before, once for refills + new colours and once for removal of extensions with gel. Service is okay because when I went for the removal, it was a busy Friday afternoon and the lady definitely rushed the job. I came to Nailtastic recently upon recommendation from a friend, but will unfortunately not be returning. I got a shellac manicure, and less than three days after the polish on both of my thumbs had chipped and peeled off. While the manager was accomodating to my request to have more polish painted on for free, it is now 8 days after my initial manicure and the majority of my other fingers are chipping or peeling. After receiving many manicures at other nail salons, I expect my manicure to last at least two weeks. Not only am I disappointed with the poor quality of this manicure, but the woman that did my nails seemed distracted and rushed. I will not be coming back to Nailtastic. read more

A pedicure at Nailtastic feels like going through a carwash. My last pedicure there was very unpleasant. First, the water in the basin was scalding hot. I had to summon he worker who ran a tap to make it colder but did not use her hand to mix the water. She was clearly irritated. The hot stones, normally a blissful experience, were also way too hot. She could tell they were too hot by the way I flinched, but that wasn't too important to her...she just wanted to get through and motored away like a machine. There was not the slightest amount of warmth in her touch; she was abrupt and lacking in care. She made not the slightest effort to be friendly and when I asked her to pay more attention to a callous she snapped that she had done that area. She also used a very coarse pumice stone on the top of my feet, which was painful. The nail polish is so thin (to make the product last) you still see the brush marks. Like others, I was rushed out of my seat after about 3 minutes with the fan. I have visited several times because it is close, but the last two times were disappointing. It is hit and miss. Once I was rushed out of my chair, at risk of smudging my nails because 5 young guys walked in and wanted pedicures. The owner, who displays authoritarian and chauvinist tendencies, and is always barking at his staff, clearly felt it more important to give me the boot and not make the 5 guys wait. If you do go here, make sure to give the tip (if deserved) directly to the staff. read more

My friend and I were big on this nail salon when they first opened. But then the man showed up and all of a sudden we were being rushed in and out so fast it was anything but relaxing. We tried booking an appt. to see if that helped.. it did not we were still being rushed out having pedicures by shamelessly overworked women who are exhausted and make mistakes. One time the woman using the razor cut my heel. While the women are sweet for the most part, one can not help but sympathize with them, but they just do not do a good job . If you want to get a super fast pedi that is overpriced this is your spot! Recently my friend went there without me and she asked for a flower to be on her toe the pedicurist was rude and said we don't do that here. She had flowers done before so was very confused. I used to go here all the time until my favourite manicurist and ALL the 7 other manicurists left en masse over the last month or so. The owner has been stealing their tips when the tip is added onto a credit card payment. One customer added on $50 as a wedding gift for my manicurist when she was about to be married and she never received it. The owner lied and said original bills were lost (so tips weren't given) or lied and said customers didn't leave a tip or he gave girls who worked there only a portion of the actual tip added on by customers. This was happening consistently, otherwise why would ALL the employees leave at once?! This is really cheap and probably illegal, too. If you still insist on going there and want to give one of the new girls a tip, please give it in cash directly to her. This information comes from my favourite manicurist who has moved elsewhere along with 4 other manicurists from Nailtastic now at a different salon. This is not how we do business here in Canada!
