I responded the following day and am still waiting for further communication (actually I am no longer waiting, I will take my business elsewhere). If you are looking to get your project completed in timely manner, this is NOT the place to go. I went to K&D Countertops and received a bid the same day. After a successful and responsive refinishing project I had high hopes for painting of my interior…read morehome. All started well enough, and we got things started. I was under the impression that these were direct employees of his, his crew. Basically he was acting as a general contractor that hired another company or hired some people looking for work. Not really sure here. I realize I made some changes, but they were clear and written in a revised proposal. I didn't want the doors painted, then I got a phone call that they were painted. Sure, he didn't charge me for this, but that is proper after all. I didn't want the trim painted, and paid for that, because I missed it in the proposal. My fault. They also painted the hardware for opening/closing the windows, those were metal and need the proper paint, I did have them take that off. The house didn't have flooring in, so I was asked about drop cloths, I said use them but don't worry too much about a few paint splatters. However, I did indicate that I wasn't removing the slate flooring and to be careful. Here is a big fail, many paint spots. He tried to have them clean it up. Now the floor is sticky, you can here the soles of your shoes and feel it too. He tried cleaning that up, when it wasn't done, he offered to do it again. I really felt he had done enough. I'm still trying to find a way to clean this up, because it's sticky any dust or what not sticks to it. It's really upsetting, as I loved this detail. I will look to bring in some professionals and see what this will set me back. There's also spots on the bathroom floors, which were also said that I wasn't removing. And those doors that were painted, they weren't dry and were closed, now that paint has popped off, so I have to touch that up, or maybe just start replacing doors. I realize also this review is a year since the work was done, I was in the middle of doing the rest of the work this last year. I almost considered them for doing the kitchen rehab. I really feel I dodged a bullet there. Noah, is a nice man, I think his intentions are good. However, the whole interior project was a mess, left me very frustrated, and I have projects left to do because of it. I don't think he checked up on the work as it was being done, and I don't think he looked at it after until I contacted him. Paint shouldn't have been on that slate, nor should you stick to your floor. I also had to point on paint spots on light fixtures, that should've been cleaned. Just no.

My wife and I have done a number of classes at Kitchen Conservatory. All of them follow the same…read moregeneral pattern. The class will have a handful of different courses, and participants are each assigned to prep one dish. At the end of the night the dishes are all pulled together and everyone eats a meal together. We have taken pizza throwing, a couple pasta making, a Great British Bake Off, and a "Low Country" seafood class. We have enjoyed all of them. A couple things to note. The quality of the classes can be hit or miss based upon the person organizing. Some have been absolutely fantastic, and others are just okay. No matter what I've still enjoyed myself. The classes are expensive, there is no way around that. However, for all of the classes you end up with a good meal and then some alcoholic beverage (mixed drinks or wine). So I view the $120-$160 per couple cost as the equivalent of a nice dinner, along with some entertainment and a fun activity. Some additional notes. The new facility on Manchester is just beautiful. It is a huge step up from the spot in Clayton. They also have a great selection of high end cooking/baking accessories that I highly recommend. I have a pie pan I got after one class that is one of my all time favorites.

Wrong. There were two simultaneous pasta classes going. Our group seemed to have no clear direction. There were two pasta rollers and each kept malfunctioning with the handles falling off. It was at this point one couple left. It only went downhill from there. My sister kept saying we should just leave but I wanted to learn how to make pasta! And I paid a lot for this class so i was going to learn! But I did not. The revolt began and people just began cooking on their own (which in the end turned out quite well!!) just so we could eat at some point. We could hear the other class drinking wine and sitting down to eat, and our lasagna wasn't even in the oven yet. Another ominous sign. Our chef was very kind but it was clear he was not ready for this. It was my second and last visit to the KC, I walked away with no additional skills. Waste of 3.5 hours (though the class was scheduled for only 2.5) and 65 bucks.
