I came in to request tailoring on two pants and 1 formal dress. In the midst of our conversation about the quotes, the male tailor refused my request for alterations and stated things like "you kill me", I have enough business, I'm very busy, I've been doing this for a million years. He was so incredibly rude to me in a short 5-min interaction, I was so shocked to be treated this way. I will not be using use this business nor recommend them to anyone. read more

Went to get a consult on altering a pair of jeans, he told me he dont have time. didn't even look at the garment didn't even think to quote a price just rudely and dismissively said he dont have time. I have never been treated so rudely at a tailor shop. i felt discriminated against. and the other lady customer and the male that was with her also felt how off the energy was. the older man shop owner with an accent was horrible. i've had several interactions with dry cleaners with alters with tailoring getting garments changed, and at minimum they would at least look at the garment and quote me a price. A flat out refusal to even engage with me as a customer and offer me a fair price for my business Feldt absolutely out-of-pocket into Port to be handled the way it did felt completely discriminated against. read more

Went to get my wedding dress altered and noticed that they also made veils! She made me a veil in the exact style I asked for (cathedral) but also made one in a royal length just in case! And thank goodness she did because when I tried on the royal veil, I fell in love!! This family business really tries to make their customers happy and goes above and beyond. This place did an excellent job hemming two large curtains we had that were too long!! The turnaround was pretty quick. Even a day earlier than he said to pick up. He also accepted me upon walking in and gave me a price. They charge 2.00 for credit card use, hemming 2 curtains was about 48.00 which seemed a little pricey but the job was done nicely and efficiently. It was easy to pick them up on my lunch break. An absolute disaster. I came in for a pant alteration, and he charged me $48. He wouldn't accept my credit card and demanded that I only pay in cash. Had I known his behavior, I would've looked for better options. Had to drive to an ATM and come back to a meh craftsmanship with an absurd price tag. The worst part is, I could see how he charged less to other customers who had similar requirements (at least he could've been discreet). Wouldn't recommend. read more

At firts I liked that it was a tailoring and dry cleaning service shop. The first items I took came out fine but I did notice it didn't have a clean smell afterwards and at times the press was not done correctly. I go a lot to dry cleaners as I like to have my custom shirts well maintained. Now the last times I had service done I had to return 2 shirts as I received it with stains and badly pressed. I got it back okay still not statisfiied. To make it worse a shirts that I used in an outdoor event had sweat. I received after dry clean service and to my experience it came back just lightly pressed and still dirty. (I posted pictures) I'm taking my business elsewhere. Very disappointed. One star for tailoring service I took a quality high end brand V-neck sweater to repair a minor opening but it came out okay. Don't like to post much reviews but this was called for. read more

I've had several items of clothing altered here. Jeans were shortened, torn winter coat lining repaired, zippers on vests and jackets replaced, etc. The work was always well done and within a reasonable time. Cost is always an issue with inflation being more than in the recent past; but, I feel I received good value for their service. Given that some of these reviews point out his pretty old fashioned mannerisms I'd say it's also fair to point out that he was kind of a dick to my wife. I found this tailor in 2020 and it has been my go to for alterations. But for some reason the owner has been very annoying when comes to settling the bill. Twice I have paid with my credit card. Each time it has been met with a discussion about why I should t use credit card. If he only wants cash post a sign saying so. There is a sign that says you will be charged an additional $2 for credit card use. I'm fine with the charge but what I don't like is to be preached to about how I spend my hard earned money. This morning was the last straw for me and unfortunately I will have to find a new location. This is better sweet as I do like the work that is done. read more

Ted has always been the best tailor in town. Timely, reasonably priced and I'm always satisfied with the results. He's done excellent tapering pants if needed, taking a jacket in a little, shortening the length of sleeve and pants and anything else you need him to do. Keep in mind your tailor isn't a miracle worker, your tailor should slightly alter a nice fitting garment not change the fit entirely. Some people in the comments state that he is "rude" I think they're attributing cultural differences to rudeness. I've been doing business with him for years and he's been wonderful and I wouldn't recommend anyone else. He prefers cash but charges a small fee for using card, if you don't want to pay the fee then bring cash. read more

I am incredibly happy with my tailoring experience here! My daughter's prom dress needed same-day altering because she was traveling out of town. Express Tailoring DELIVERED! I called the shop on a Saturday morning and the tailor was able to alter the dress by 1:30 the same day. He placed a modesty panel in the front of the dress and shortened the straps so it fit around my daughter's bosom and waist. The dress had a lot of detail and the tailor was able to expertly adjust everything. He did such an outstanding job and we couldn't be happier. He was also reasonably priced for a rush job. I was looking for a tailor in the area to have my wedding dress altered back March for my wedding in May. My dress already fit well on me. I only needed the length to be hemmed and to add a bustle. As soon as I walked inside, Ted greeted me and had me try in my dress. He suggested taking the dress in a little to fit to my body, adding a bustle, hemming the length of the dress, and adding bust cups to my dress. I was a bit nervous to leave my wedding dress and have it altered by a stranger. But Ted did an excellent job at a very reasonable price! The dress fit perfectly. Afforadable. And, based on the number of suits, pants, and other fashion that waited behind his counter, you can tell Ted is a POPULAR man! I didn't look for it, nor did I ask, but I was informed that Ted even has a tailoring degree from Europe. He was quick to zip my dress, pin the proper length, and even altered the halter top to fit. Prices are very reasonable, but the owner kind of turned me off on my first visit. He kept going back and forth on whether to help me or the lady who was there before me. Also, when I was a bit strapped for time, he did try to accommodate a bit, but overall basically asked me if I didn't realize that this week was prom. That was a very strange thing for him to assume I would know, as I am obviously not in high school anymore. I did go back and had my jacket altered and my peacoat dry cleaned. They did a great job. I never knew his name, but I guess it's Ted. I've been using him for many years now. He does a oustanding job. I've taken suits, jackets, jeans, slacks, pretty much anything. He did a great job with the few suits and jackets that I've taken to him and I think that sets him apart. I've taken too many pants to count to him and have been satisfied every time but once. One time he made it too short but it was in part because I didn't wash the jeans prior to hemming. Those were expensive jeans.... oh well. I believe his prices are pretty good too. My last 2 pairs of khakis from BR cost $6 each for hemming. I think original hem for jeans cost a little more. I highly recommend him. One thing though, I think he has the capability to charge credit cards, but they charge him too much so her prefers cash. read more

I've brought in my stuff a few times here and thought the work was quite good. I experienced some brazen homophobia at Express Tailoring today, and I can no longer take my business there. I brought in a romper and asked if the top part could be taken in. The man, who I believe is the owner but I am not sure, said of course and I put it on so he could pin it. While pinning, he asked, "And where do you wear this?" He asked this in a judgmental way, and honestly I don't think it's any of this man's business where I wear my clothes. But I took his question as good natured given that I am a man, and I understand that men wearing rompers is a bit of a novelty. I told him that I just wear it around and that I find it quite comfortable. He seemed to take that well and finished pinning it. I paid and left. I went to go pick up my romper today, and when I gave him the ticket, he asked me to remind him what I was picking up. I told him I was picking up my romper/jumpsuit, and he said, "Ah yes. Your skirt." I told him that I quite liked the piece of clothing, and didn't appreciate his homophobic jab. He didn't apologize. I will not be going back to Express Tailoring. I feel like I gave this man, whoever he is, a lot of slack and to the very end he proved himself to not be acting in good faith. There are a lot of tailors in the area. There are a lot of gay men, like myself, who need their rompers, kaftans, jodhpurs, and--yes--skirts tailored.
