The gas is cheap yes but the attendants are very rude and have no knowledge as to how debits/credits work. I went to the window to prepay for my gas with my AMEX, but the attendant wouldn't let me. He kept telling me to use the pump. I told him that I did not want to use the pump, but he kept insisting. He told me to pay with cash. I responded by saying that I didn't have any cash on me and that my tank was low. He could care less. He refused to allow me to prepay for my gas. Can someone tell me what difference this makes for them??? It makes me wonder why they are so hell bent on getting your credit card information. You can go to any gas station in the DMV area (except for this one) and prepay for your gas. I will never purchase anything from this station again. read more

Always the cheapest gas around (somewhere around 30 cents cheaper than other stations, but that varies--sometimes it's higher, sometimes it's lower). Definitely go at off peak hours so you don't have to cram your car somewhere on their lot (like I had to earlier today). I usually gas up the day of the week that I work late, so I'm there around midnight. I'm sure the experience is not very pleasant during the middle of the day since everyone wants to save. If you can get here when it's not busy, you'll enjoy quick in-and-out cheap gas. read more

Too many cars and stupid people that doesn't understand two points of entry. They think its free for all and ignores lines (pulling up two pumps when there are lines of cars on the other side as well, uneducated grandmas that lived their whole lives without knowing the definition of logic tsktsk). The worst thing is that the owner/store clerk doesn't really care about this problem. It is very simple to just make a waiting line or make it one way (like costco) does but no its too much effort apparently. Its freaken greaaat that whenever the oil truck comes in it has to unload in the middle of the gas station cuz that's where the tanks are. People are giving this place 2 stars and still coming back. Yes, the people that run this fine establishment should do something to guide traffic flow and prevent altercations from arising. I always seem to find Burke's finest when going here. You should try going any time outside of lunch or rush hour. Chances are it still still be busy unless you go after 8pm. Avoid this gas station. The cash register "Makarsh" or w.e is a fraud and tried to overcharge me. I'm a university student coming straight from campus to stop for some cheap gas. This is the first time I've been to express stop. I told the cashier to put in $20 for my pump. When I went to put gas in the the tank, it stops at $4. I went back to speak to the cashier, and asked him "why did it stop at 4?" He said because I wasn't holding the gas pump correctly. And if I wanted to put in more gas I'll have to pay again. I only had $20 on this specific card to spend for gas. So i said "fine okay?" So I asked to put in $16 however it declined because there is nothing on the card. He took my whole 20 and basically If I wanted for more gas I'll have to pay again. I asked why couldn't he put the $16 back on my card? He said its impossible for him to do this. BS! He could've added $16 to the pump or my card since it's been paid for! any other gas station I've been to I never heard of holding the pump a certain way so the gas won't automatically stop. He intentionally put $4 for my gas., How is it I paid $20 but end up with 1 gallon of gas, and nothing on my card? Long story short, he was trying to overcharge me, and because I'm a brown skin girl wearing a headscarf, he thought I was stupid or "foreign" to not understand what was going on and to go along with his scheme. Cheapest gas in the area. Worst car wash ever. Service is AWFUL.

I have been coming to this gas station 7 years and never had a problem, until today. I decided to use the car wash machine on my NEW car thinking it was save because its brushless. Well, the machine damaged my bumper. I told the cashier and his first response was NO! The machine cant damage cars; it never done it before. Really! My car is new, under a month old. I just left the grocery store and loaded my groceries and there wasn't any damage to my bumper. My next stop was gas....no detour. And, the crazy thing is the machine told me to back up, so it can start so I did. Now my car is damage, it's not sufficient but it was damaged. Its sad that the first thing the cashier, said was no, it couldn't have done it. Do you have video of it because I'm pretty sure and 100% certain it did. And, my car still have bird poop on it! Waste of money and my car was damaged. I will not be returning back to this gas station. You can't take responsibility for this then you lose my business! I have never really had an issue with this gas station before today (although I never go for gas..the line is always way too long.) A young guy working at the register refused to sell me cigarettes because I was using my valid passport as an ID. The law actually states that a passport is a legal ID. Federal law trumps state law...and that passport I was holding is actually the strongest form of ID possible. it takes a drivers license AND several other forms of ID to even get a passport in the first place. I left pretty disappointed and from now on I will drive out of my way to give my business elsewhere. read more

The few cents you save at this gas station are not worth it. It's always a complete cluster and people are constantly cutting in line causing frequent altercations. What should only be a slight wait ends up being much longer when cars start blocking exits or getting out of cars to yell at one another. If my car ran out of gas right in front of this gas station, it was the middle of July, I was naked, global warming had taken over and it's 130 degrees, I would still call a tow truck and walk miles to the next gas station before I ever go back to this Express Stop. The owner of this gas station needs to take one free online class on economics and understand supply and demand. Heck, even YouTube could teach it. Question: What do you do when your prices are so low that you have cars spilling out into the street? Answer: You raise the price and control your demand. Instead of that, Express Stop decided to try and corral traffic like a heard of cows. They've taken it to such extremes that, on completely separate occasions, they've stopped the pump from working on me and my girlfriend. Even though we had payment ready and the pump inside of our gas caps. And while they did this, they sat in their nice little booth just watching us wonder what's wrong until we came up and politely inquired. I entered the station from the back side and the only markings I saw that identified the *now enforced* direction rule was a little 6"x6" handwritten yellow arrow on each pump that reads "One way." Do yourself a favor and forget about the 75cents you'll save going here. They don't deserve your business. read more

Worthless car wash...when I got home, I couldn't tell that anything had been cleaned. I was promised a refund when I called. My wife returned there with the receipt only to get yelled at for expecting a refund after 3 hours. I called back only to be told I should have inspected the vehicle prior to leaving their location. Never had to do that anywhere else. Avoid...the lousy service isn't worth the few cents you save in gas. Will never return to a place that blames the customer for its own poor service. read more

BEWARE!!! Car wash thief alert!!! This gas station has a self-serve car wash. You drive up, enter your code, and drive your car in and through the washing steps. DO NOT enter your code if there is someone in the car wash area because they could be waiting for you to enter your code so they can get your car wash. How do I know this? I pulled in behind a woman who entered her code (or as it turned out, appeared to enter her code) and then drove in. I drove up behind her and was waiting to enter my wash code. She started fiddling about, driving a little forward, then a little backward. Hmmm, like she was trying to situate her car just right. Watching this, I just backed up figuring she'd have to back up to reenter her code. NO, when she realized I wasn't going to enter my code, she took off and left the gas station - in a hurry! She was waiting for me to enter my code so she could get my car wash. If I'd entered my code while she was in there, she would have stolen my car wash. When I went in, a car came up right behind me and immediately entered their code before my wash started. Don't do it! Wait until the wash begins in front of you before entering your code. read more

I liked this place initially because of the low price and 24/7 popularity of customers. I own a Toyota Prius so having a high-mpg car helped me notice the difference better. I used to fill up at Exxon and always got 54-58 mpg per fill-up. Then as I kept putting gas at express stop eventually my mpg (not displayed but calculated) averaged at 49-50 over 5 fill-ups of 450-mile runs each. First thing I thought of was the quality of gas. So I waited until I got the low fuel warning, then refueled full-tank at Shell. I would guess at minimum the tank had 80% Shell fuel. Drove around, ran 581.6 miles until next full-tank fill-up which was 9.647 gallons. That's 60.3 mpg! Now everything I put into my car is 87-octane so the price at the Express stop was 1.899 and Shell 2.099 (both on same day). That's 10% more price. But calculated mpg from Express stop was roughly 50 mpg and Shell at 60 mpg, that's 20% more performance! So in summary, at least for Regular gas, Express Stop gas gives you 10% less price for 20% less performance, compared to Shell gas. read more
