It's a beast: requires 10 quarts of oil annually; eats oil like it's air but it's a fine machine. The dealerships cost too much and I'm not under warranty (except for the paint / rustproofing -- BMW warranties it's paint for 12!! years) and I really wanted to establish a relationship with a full-service local shop that doesn't see your BMW and think it means "sucker, 'Brought My Wallet' I just want to look cool. BMWs are expensive because they create machines and use skill, design, and quality in their builds. When Wiygul came to Burke, they **revitalized** the formerly creepy aesthetic of this geographical dead-end location; they cleaned up the area, landscaped, trimmed the trees, repaired the lighting, and that matters. Especially to a woman. Especially to our community. I know cars somewhat and when I bought this vehicle I knew it was in for. I set $ aside (that's why I didn't buy it new). They used genuine BMW parts for my heat/ac blower and filters. They used synthetic oil for the oil change. They have a BMW-trained technician who knows what to do. These are normal questions to ask a repair facility. So ask them. They didn't need to fix anything I didn't already know about; they didn't fast talk me or patronize me. They honored the coupons that I received in the mail and they gave me the postcard back after I presented it for future visits! George was super knowledgeable and patient. He knew that what he was proposing was pricey -- it needed some work and I'm relieved the mystery is over. Yeah, I'll be back.

When i pressed them, they said it wasn't a safety issue but it would help the tires last longer. Only problem was the repair would have cost way more than the actual tires! So i told them i'll just buy new tires when i need and save the money. They also tried hard to convince me to have my old battery cleaned... which would have cost more than half the price of a new battery. Bigger problem is their attitude. Went in for oil change and inspection. Had coupon for each. Manager mumbled that they normally don't take 2 coupons but he'll do it for me. Gee... nice of him to do me a favor by honoring coupons that they sent me! Then he wanted me to fill out a paper form - with the same info they already had on their computer! Told me it's "their policy". Then i handed him the wheel lock key... and he scowled and told me i'd have to agree to waive any damage they might cause. Never had to deal with that - even when THEY installed the tires that were on my car that i bought from them. Certainly not a scowl. Had he done any of that in a friendly way that showed he recognized my concerns, things might have been different. But his attitude was kinda strange for a business that has plenty of competition. Don't know what's changed there... but it ain't good and i'm certainly done with them.

First mechanic I went to had the car for 2 days and only greased the transfer case. And he wouldn't even work on the AC because the Land Cruiser is 23 years old and and that unit HVAC system was extremely complicated. Eric from Premier Auto detected the problem immediately and gave me an estimate. Now, the AC system is running ice cold and the front axle replacements completely fixed the clunking; it's buttery smooth as it should be. It was done in like 3 days; amazing turn around time. Are they the cheapest? No, but they are competitive. The better question would be, "Are they honest, qualified, and professional? Am I getting VALUE for my money?" I am happy to say yes to all four.
