Both places were priced about the same as any other boutique so nothing too crazy but shirts were about $30 and sweaters were about $45. I went to wait in line to purchase the items and was hoping to find a different size in a pair of shoes I liked. The person ringing me up, Hugo, looked up the shoes and said they had my size available. He called for someone to go find them and said to wait at the register. He had already rang me up for the sweaters but hadn't charged me yet. I waited for about 5 minutes and then offered to pay for the sweaters so he could continue helping other customers (it was very busy and the line was long). I paid for my items and waited off to the side. I waited another 5 minutes or so and Hugo came over to let me know they couldn't find the size I was looking for even though it showed it was available in their system. I was bummed, but I understood and appreciated them taking the time to look. I told him I'd still be interested in purchasing the size I originally found. He told me I would need to wait in line again to make my purchase. I was very caught off guard. At that point I wasn't going to wait in the long line I had already waited in and waited off to the side thinking I was doing Hugo and the other customers a favor. WCB was the only store I found that was willing to order a 'loaner dress' from the manufacturer for a small fee so I could try it on. Additionally, Elizabeth was on top of communication and rescheduled my appointment as soon as they realized the dress got delayed in transit. I had a great experience during my appointment with Reagan. She was attentive and always made sure that the dresses I tried on were 1) within my budget and 2) could be ordered to arrive in time for alterations before my wedding date. She let our party deliberate dresses without giving input unless we asked her, which was refreshing compared to my experiences at other stores where I felt pressured by stylists who sold dresses as if they were cars. While I appreciated her dress suggestions based off the description of what I was looking for, I ultimately fell in love with the loaner dress they ordered for me (I was under no obligation to purchase it!) and because it was the perfect size already, I was able to take it home the same day too. Overall, I highly recommend Wine Country Bride. They are totally worth the drive up to Sonoma County.

I finally got the courage to go to another place and I went to Bliss Bridal & Black Tie, where I found my dress. The consultant there actually listened to me, understood what I was looking for, and made me feel supported throughout the entire appointment. The experience was completely different in the best way and showed me how meaningful dress shopping can be when you feel heard and respected. Because of this, I strongly recommend brides go elsewhere for their dress shopping experience. If you're deciding where to go, I encourage you to choose a shop that truly listens and makes you feel confident and excited -- every bride deserves that.
