For me though, I'm more concerned with the end result and how fast it's done, which this place did a great job of. To everyone reading this, please avoid this shop and shops like this. I am writing for someone that…read morerecently went to this shop to get a so called diagnosis on her vehicle. Concern was check engine light and smoke coming from under the hood. So to start off I'm a mechanic and when I got this call for help I couldn't believe what I was hearing...$1200 to replace a radiator on an old 2003 Lexus. And on top of that to add an insult to injury they quoted another 2.5 hours to replace the radiator hoses which is apparently $585 of labor and parts. Oh and get this, another hour of work for adding the coolant into the vehicle.....so like you don't do that when you replace the radiator????? From the beginning this whole thing smelled of scam and guess what I was right in thinking that. Then they tell her her thermostat is bad....how do they know.....who knows maybe they did testing? Nope they just told her it was bad and quoted 2.5 hours which is $750 on top of everything else quoted. The thermostat calls for 1.4 hours of labor and yes I understand it's in a different area and all but gosh I can't help but think my conscience would scream at me for trying to quote someone $1200, $585, $750, and $385 and not try to help with cost. Wow. My problem is these shops exist out here either knowingly scamming or unknowingly just bad at their jobs and are incompetent. But anyway no indication of what the check engine light was on for, no information on what they did to diagnose it or any expectations set for her to understand what's going on. So what was the technicians diagnosis...radiator was leaking at the top seal and any person can see that. I'm sure they didn't pressure test based on the track record of saying the thermostat was bad without checking. But back to the story. I received the car after she paid for the so called diagnosis fee which who knows what that's all about because doesn't say any information or a story on how they diagnosed anything, then started on working on the radiator, I literally timed myself and it took 15min to pull the radiator out....removed the top covers, removed the support beam, the radiator isn't even bolted to the condenser....15 mins guys. I don't know what kind of things yall are smoking....transferred over the upper and lower radiator hoses not for another 2.5 hours and transferred over the temp sensor which took another 20min to do. Then another 15 min to install radiator and then top off the coolant and burp the system another 5 min. Sooo all this is under the 1.4 all dats time to do. And they wanted to charge 5.5 hours. I have no idea where in their right mind they thought 5.5 hours was acceptable to quote. Now Iet me tell you guys something, in my head I told myself when she gets here I'm going to ask what did they say to you when you said I'm going to pay the so called diagnosis fee and take the car because it's too expensive. And in my mind I told myself watch she's going to tell me that they tried to lower the prices and give a discount by waiving the diagnostic fee which is laughable. How can you charge a diagnostic if you leave without using information on the check engine light and or the leaks. Well clearly the radiator is leaking but where does that diag fee go to? The person who's going to respond to this is going to say well it goes to the tech to pay for his time to look at the car. Yea yea my butt, I've been in this industry for 15 years and all my notes for every single car has pictures and exactly what I checked down to the pressure I used on the cooling system to check for leaks. Everything is documented and if a car comes in we can look at the history of what was done previously. That's because we notate exactly what's going on. If a car comes in with a check engine light I take a picture of it and upload it and attach it to the multipoint inspection so we can have a record of what the light is. Oh and that's not diagnostic labor that's just looking at what the light says. Actual diagnosis is checking the circuit, checking the module or solenoid or running test on evap components or smoking the intake for leaks and pressure testing the cooling system and having a full formed conclusion. Condition, cause, correction and confirmation is a full formed conclusion of diagnosis which if this was done I wouldn't have had an issue paying $120 for a diag. Shame on you guys and other shops like this. Shame shame shame!!! Im appalled at what you guys did and to the person working for this shop trying to respond to this, there is no response, there is nothing you can say. The sheet says it all, I have receipts and proof. You cannot come at me and say all the responsive garbage you say to other customers who have a bad experience. I've read your posting responses. All you need to feel is shame and fix yourselves, apply better fundamental values and progress from this caveman style of automotive repair. Hold up! I would not recommend this place. One-Star Review:…read moreDeceptive Practices at Only4 Auto Care Kenan Ajaj, Please call me so we can resolve the issue without having to go to court. The short of it: Misrepresentation of Part Availability: Claiming no non-OEM parts were available when they were is misleading and inflated the bill. Unnecessary Repairs: Replacing parts that were not faulty (as proven by my successful use of the old parts) indicates intentional overcharging. Lack of Transparency: Failing to provide a detailed invoice, delaying part number delivery, and refusing to sign handwritten part numbers suggest an intent to obscure the repair details. Price Gouging example: The extreme markup on parts (e.g., 1825% on the Mass Air Flow Sensor Connector) is far beyond reasonable industry standards. Kenan Ajaj and Joe, I trusted you as reliable mechanics, but my experience was deeply disappointing. On May 14, 2025, I brought my 2014 Audi A4 Quattro to Only4 Auto Care in Dallas, TX, for a starting issue caused by a shorted coil connector. Joe claimed a blown ECU fuse was fixed, but additional parts were needed, costing $2162.20. He said only OEM parts were available, yet after receiving the part numbers I found non-OEM parts at a fraction of the cost (e.g., Mass Air Flow Sensor: $546.66 vs. $34.49). This is just one of the multiple not need parts. I requested an invoice with part numbers multiple times, but Joe didn't send it. On May 17, he provided a printed invoice without part numbers and later texted numbers without descriptions, refusing to sign a handwritten invoice. On May 17, I returned to address missing body panel push pins, low-quality vinyl tape (not high-temperature cloth tape), and no heat shielding. Only two of three replaced parts were returned. I replaced the new parts with my originals, and the car has run perfectly for two months, proving the repairs were unnecessary. Prices were also inflated compared to Audi Dallas (e.g., Sensor Connector: Only4 price only for part $265.02 vs. $13.77 from Auto Dallas). This suggests deceptive practices, violating the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act. This also show price gouging again for a part not needed. On August 1, 2025, at 1 PM, I discussed these issues with Rambo, expecting a call from Ken or Joe, but none came. I'm seeking a full refund and have filed complaints with the Texas Attorney General and BBB. Avoid this shop to prevent similar experiences. Issues: No heat shielding, missing parts, misaligned washer fluid container, grease on floor mat, unnecessary $2162.20 repair for a fuse issue. Photos available. What a horrible experience.
