Concern was check engine light and smoke coming from under the hood. So to start off I'm a mechanic and when I got this call for help I couldn't believe what I was hearing...$1200 to replace a radiator on an old 2003 Lexus. And on top of that to add an insult to injury they quoted another 2.5 hours to replace the radiator hoses which is apparently $585 of labor and parts. Oh and get this, another hour of work for adding the coolant into the vehicle.....so like you don't do that when you replace the radiator????? From the beginning this whole thing smelled of scam and guess what I was right in thinking that. Then they tell her her thermostat is bad....how do they know.....who knows maybe they did testing? Nope they just told her it was bad and quoted 2.5 hours which is $750 on top of everything else quoted. The thermostat calls for 1.4 hours of labor and yes I understand it's in a different area and all but gosh I can't help but think my conscience would scream at me for trying to quote someone $1200, $585, $750, and $385 and not try to help with cost. Wow. My problem is these shops exist out here either knowingly scamming or unknowingly just bad at their jobs and are incompetent. But anyway no indication of what the check engine light was on for, no information on what they did to diagnose it or any expectations set for her to understand what's going on. So what was the technicians diagnosis...radiator was leaking at the top seal and any person can see that. I'm sure they didn't pressure test based on the track record of saying the thermostat was bad without checking. But back to the story. I received the car after she paid for the so called diagnosis fee which who knows what that's all about because doesn't say any information or a story on how they diagnosed anything, then started on working on the radiator, I literally timed myself and it took 15min to pull the radiator out....removed the top covers, removed the support beam, the radiator isn't even bolted to the condenser....15 mins guys. I don't know what kind of things yall are smoking....transferred over the upper and lower radiator hoses not for another 2.5 hours and transferred over the temp sensor which took another 20min to do. Then another 15 min to install radiator and then top off the coolant and burp the system another 5 min. Sooo all this is under the 1.4 all dats time to do. And they wanted to charge 5.5 hours. I have no idea where in their right mind they thought 5.5 hours was acceptable to quote. Now Iet me tell you guys something, in my head I told myself when she gets here I'm going to ask what did they say to you when you said I'm going to pay the so called diagnosis fee and take the car because it's too expensive. And in my mind I told myself watch she's going to tell me that they tried to lower the prices and give a discount by waiving the diagnostic fee which is laughable. How can you charge a diagnostic if you leave without using information on the check engine light and or the leaks. Well clearly the radiator is leaking but where does that diag fee go to? The person who's going to respond to this is going to say well it goes to the tech to pay for his time to look at the car. Yea yea my butt, I've been in this industry for 15 years and all my notes for every single car has pictures and exactly what I checked down to the pressure I used on the cooling system to check for leaks. Everything is documented and if a car comes in we can look at the history of what was done previously. That's because we notate exactly what's going on. If a car comes in with a check engine light I take a picture of it and upload it and attach it to the multipoint inspection so we can have a record of what the light is. Oh and that's not diagnostic labor that's just looking at what the light says. Actual diagnosis is checking the circuit, checking the module or solenoid or running test on evap components or smoking the intake for leaks and pressure testing the cooling system and having a full formed conclusion. Condition, cause, correction and confirmation is a full formed conclusion of diagnosis which if this was done I wouldn't have had an issue paying $120 for a diag. Shame on you guys and other shops like this. Shame shame shame!!! Im appalled at what you guys did and to the person working for this shop trying to respond to this, there is no response, there is nothing you can say. The sheet says it all, I have receipts and proof. You cannot come at me and say all the responsive garbage you say to other customers who have a bad experience. I've read your posting responses. All you need to feel is shame and fix yourselves, apply better fundamental values and progress from this caveman style of automotive repair. I should have just went to Discount Tire and paid $20. I have had multiple TPMS sensors replaced and I have never paid anything close to what these guys charged me. I wanted to support the neighborhood small business, but their price was excessive. The tech also didn't program my sensors to the correct wheel location. I had to reprogram them when I got home. In addition to that, I have already made payment for said work. Do not get me wrong Jeff seems like a great guy to the fullest but, totally had no control over his time frame, he over promised and under delivered with out a doubt. The biggest downfall for me is when I am told that it would take less than one day and it ended up taking FOUR DAYS at the shop. Definitely not acceptable! Especially when I had to keep calling asking when my truck would be ready. The work that has been done so far was not partially done correctly. If I'm going to spend more than $4.000! here I expect a good job. Every time I call I get the runaround and it is frustrating. Below is the work that was done which took 4 Days: - New AMP boards which took 3Hr. - Remove Air lift kit which took them 1Hr. - Adding New Tires. N/A on time - Adding a Light strip at the tail gate. 1Hr. As Jeff is turning in the truck to me 4 Days later, I spotted the following: - AMP board wiring hanging underneath the truck. - Amp board wiring hanging underneath brake paddle. - Light strip un leveled and connected incorrectly. Below is the said work that was not complete: - They NEVER added the bump stops which Jeff said he would! - Light strip installed incorrectly! - Here is a funny one. I raised my concern about the issue regarding the light strip not being strait. Jeff literally gave me double sided tape to what apparently he expected me to fix it. Since after Four days at the shop wasn't long enough he said to me "Hold the tape and bring it in next time and I will fix the connection also" I'll tell you one thing. If I have to bring my truck back literally after a week at the shop even AFTER PAYING! That is bad business... Here is another funny one, I am still waiting on that call from Jeff or Mark. Very disappointed in the work performed and condition of car upon returning it…read more I had a serious issue with my cars computers not communicating with other modules on the car making the car not drivable. This was brought on by previous shop screwing it up. Do I brought the car here and explained what happened and they assured me they would find the problem and get it fixed. After car being there over a week I went up there to check on it. The mechanic told me he had not even looked at it yet. After being there a month they told me they could not fix it. So I picked the car up and got it back in much worse condition. The interior panels has been pulled and just left in the floor the new blower motor wires had been taken apart and left hanging. The mechanic and service manager were arguing and cussing in front of us. When we were trying to put things under the hood back in place to try to start the car the mechanic told us we had to leave the shop area now and they would push the car outside. They left the car at the edge of their parking lot entrance. Many interior panels left in the floor and several under the hood parts left in disarray. Car had to be towed home. I do not recommend anyone taking their car here for anything complicated. It's one thing to not be able to fix a car but after a month and getting the car back in much worse condition is bullshit.

I brought my vehicle to this shop for collision repair under an insurance claim. My insurance…read morecompany paid the shop directly, which limited my ability to influence the repair process. I requested that the front bumper not be repaired, as the damage was only minor cosmetic scratching, and asked instead that the associated cost savings be applied toward repairing a dent in another area of the vehicle. I also stated that I was willing to pay any difference out of pocket. This request was declined because the front bumper damage was deemed part of the collision, while the dent was not. During repairs to the driver-side rear quarter panel, the rear bumper was removed, and in the process, the original OEM fender flares were broken. These were then replaced with used flares rather than OEM parts. The replacement flares do not fit as well as the originals and noticeably affect the appearance of the vehicle. Additionally, paint or chemicals were sprayed all over the black moldings causing them to deteriorate. I asked them about those small holes on the moldings, they said bring the car back after a few days and they will buff them out. The entire repair process took over six weeks to complete, which I found excessive given the scope of the work performed. They did fix the damage area but, in the process, they damaged other parts of the car.

Update- Took my car to the original shop in Dallas (they're also BBB accredited) I mentioned in the…read morereview, and wouldn't you know, they were able to fix the issue by cutting out a piece of plastic to access the bolt and repair/replace it, then did my alignment. Car feels great now, avoid this shop, or at least get a second opinion before handing over ANY money to this place.
