Unfortunately, over the past few months, the customer service has declined significantly. I've repeatedly been made to feel uncomfortable by my nail technician for politely speaking up about my preferences. If I have an appointment with her after 4 PM and ask for any type of nail art, I feel like I'm being glared at and talked about by staff, or my designs end up rushed because they're trying to get me out the door before closing. I've attached photos of what I requested compared to what I received at my appointment today. I paid $68 before tip. During the appointment, I simply asked if the lines could be adjusted to be more symmetrical. My nail technician responded, "Next time, go to anyone else. I'm not doing your nails again." If the design was outside of her comfort level, I would have much preferred that she tell me upfront so I could choose a different design or another technician. Instead, I politely agreed and went to pay. She initially told me there would be an $8 partial design fee, but when I got to the register, she changed it to $15. When I politely asked about the difference, she raised her voice at me in front of other customers and accused me of not wanting to pay. As someone who has been coming here every three weeks for years, pays my bill without complaint, and consistently tips $10-20, I found that incredibly disrespectful and embarrassing. I do want to acknowledge that the manager was kind and offered to redo my nails as a solid color, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, the interaction with my technician completely overshadowed that gesture. I've never left a nail salon in tears because of how I was treated. After being a loyal customer for years and driving 45 minutes for every appointment, this experience was enough for me to decide I won't be returning.

I had a really disappointing experience here and unfortunately won't be coming back. I called ahead specifically to confirm the price for what I wanted, and I was told $55. When I came in, I clearly explained that I wanted regular nail polish, NOT gel. During my appointment, the nail tech skipped several steps that I would normally expect during a nail service, and my nails were left extremely thick. Then, despite me saying I wanted regular polish, she brought out the gel lamp and seemed to assume I was getting gel. When I told one of the women next to her that I did not want gel, I was told it was the same price anyway. I was then told my total would be $65, even though I had called beforehand and was quoted $55. One of the women eventually gave me a $5 discount because I didn't get gel, but that still left me wondering why I was being charged more than the $55 price I was originally quoted. The whole experience was extremely uncomfortable. While I was waiting for my nails to dry, I could hear what sounded like people sneering and talking behind me, which made the situation even more uncomfortable. Unfortunately, my nails did not turn out well either. Between the unexpected price change, the confusion over gel, the lack of attention to detail, and the overall uncomfortable atmosphere, this was not a good experience. So far my pedicure is great and I don't have any concerns at all. All staff is kind I have interacted with so far. I think if you have a bad experience and your nails don't come out absolutely perfect it is upsetting because nails aren't cheap anymore so I think complaints are valid. But I encourage you to have your own experience here and take a chance because you could get a bubble on your nail or an accidental knick on your nail from any nail spa. I don't see any outright red flags at all.

I was there last week and observed a middle-aged male technician 'clean' the manicure tools he'd just used on a client with just soap and water. He took the tools he used on his client over to the sink, washed them as he washed his hands, dried both on the same paper towel, went in the back, got a bag that stated the items had been sanitized, put them in and closed it, and dropped them on the desk. A few minutes later, another technician sat down, opened the 'sanitized' package of instruments, and used them on the next client. Manicure instruments, like surgical instruments, need to be sanitized in an autoclave to kill pathogens such as HIV and hepatitis. The Department of Public Health, which licenses these establishments, sets clear guidelines that this particular technician ignored. I love the work these folks do, and I always come out of here with super cute nails and toes. What I don't want to come out with, though, is a preventable disease!
