I chose Firehouse Movers because of their glowing Google reviews, and their initial estimate was very competitive. Unfortunately, the final bill was a complete shock. To begin with, they insisted on a virtual estimate and refused to come out in person and assess the job. This was a 5000 sq ft home full of furniture, and I wanted the most accurate estimate possible. I asked multiple times for an in-person estimate, but my requests were declined. By moving day, I had sold two-bedroom sets and several other large pieces of furniture that were included in the original estimate. Even with significantly fewer items to move, the final price was more than double the original estimate. On the day of the move, I somehow went from needing two trucks, as stated in the estimate, to four. And from 9 to 17 total man hours. At the end of a long day, my husband just wanted them gone, so he reluctantly paid the bill before they could log anymore hours. When I called to discuss the bill, Firehouse claimed I had verbally approved the additional associated costs over the phone, citing a recording, which was completely false. I have asked multiple times for this recording, but I have not received it. That was not a small miscalculation. Our move was grossly underestimated. This whole experience felt misleading and dishonest. Stay away.

Beau, the owner, visited us and gave an estimate that was very competitive. Throughout the move process they had very good communication. Before the move, we packed up most of the things ourselves, but Phoenix offered to have some of their office staff pack up the fragile items like dishes and art work on an hourly rate. This really helped! On the day of the move, they were on time and they brought in 10 people to pack the van and get us on our way quickly. When they moved us, they did not consolidate and transfer our things to another van, our things stayed in the same van until it reached its final destination. When they unpacked, they were very professional and efficient. To summarize, we had a great experience moving with Phoenix Express and I would highly recommend them for anyone to move with!

The team that handled my move appeared poorly trained and unprepared. I don't know of anywhere in the DFW metroplex that takes two hours to arrive, yet my move clock started at 8 AM, and they didn't show up to my condo until 9:58 AM. Upon their arrival, they disregarded the guidance provided by the building loadmaster, leading to numerous issues. My furniture was not wrapped properly or protected with blankets, which is standard practice for moving. They also failed to follow building rules by neglecting to line the floors with blankets or protect the walls while moving in and out of the condo and elevators, despite having signed documents acknowledging these standard operating procedures. Additionally, the movers carelessly transported items downstairs to the basement, leaning them against the walls without any padding. For instance, my television was placed directly against the wall, exposing it to potential damage. A move that should have taken no more than four hours ended up taking seven, and I was confronted with attempted upcharges, which I ultimately refused. After this distressing experience, I filed a claim but have faced nothing but frustration as their leadership has given me the runaround. I provided them with photos documenting the situation and have expressed that I have nothing further to add. Their management is aware that they packed my furniture for storage but has done nothing to address these issues. In my opinion, if a customer demonstrates that their equipment was not safely packed--and that a $4,000 TV and $6,000 worth of beds were treated carelessly--any responsible company would be eager to resolve the matter. Unfortunately, my TV was damaged during the move (unclear if it was from the POD, but I doubt that since the TV was against the king size mattress). One of the movers later stated that he had noticed damage to the TV box when he unloaded the tv from POD but did not bring it to my attention at the time, which was very disappointing. However, the owner Joey, took the situation seriously and handled it with genuine empathy and accountability. I was extremely frustrated from the move (it's really a lot to handle) and Joey was kind and patient as he listed to me explain what happened. He suspended the team member involved, made it clear that he wanted to put the customer first, and worked with me to make things right. After I provided the original receipt for my TV, he sent me a check for its full original purchase price and did not waste time to go through insurance. I didn't buy additional insurance, so at most if Joey had went through insurance, I would have received $40/$50 back for my tv at $0.60/lb. He said he wanted to make sure we reached an agreement that felt fair. I truly appreciate Joey's customer first mindset. Although the damage was frustrating, I greatly appreciated how Joey responded. He's been in business for 25 years and stated that accidents happen and what he cares for the most is customer satisfaction. His integrity, compassion, and willingness to stand behind his company ultimately left me with a positive impression. The person answering the phone was minimally helpful and couldn't provide any clear information. Our move was only from a one-bedroom apartment to a two-bedroom apartment just 8 miles up the road. It should not have taken as long as it did, and it certainly shouldn't have cost as much as it did. Had to call my son in law to help. he had to buy all new screws to fix their error. i did a claim (just one) but only the one, because the company ONLY allows you to file one claim. My offer for a $700 TV, is a payment if $150. I moved 7 miles down the road...my cost was $1256. DO NOT USE THEM! I was screwed over and this move cost me so much more than it should have.
