The room we chose for the kids
    Linda S.

We had my sons 12th birthday here and the kids had a blast. It was easy to book and there was plenty of communication with the staff. We opted to have pizza and cake at home but they do have space for cake/food. The kids all said they enjoyed it and would return

Our game was the pirate themed Depths of Osiris (check out the preview vids on YouTube), and it was perfect for a team of an adult and two ten year olds. My boys had no trouble getting used to the VR gear they had to wear for the experience (a headset and two hand controllers - it was their first time). We had to cooperate to solve each room's puzzle to unlock a new room. Eventually, we got to the final scenario which was exciting and really required us to collaborate. The puzzles were well constructed and mostly understandable from a logic perspective. The graphics and sound were pretty decent (it's not super-high res like Cyberpunk) and matched the gameplay perfectly. We got some timely tips from the game master too, and cleared the puzzle with about a minute left on our 45 minute timer. The facilities are super clean and well maintained. They also have snacks and drinks which are nice to make the visit special for younger kids. My sons want to come back, and I do too. I also heard they are adding a physical escape room, so definitely something to look forward to.

I've been to Diablo Escapes twice now and have always been impressed by the customer service. Make sure you get there 15-20 minutes early so you have time to finish any waivers and get your packs set up for the room. There is an adjacent parking lot so you shouldn't have any issue finding any spot. You can easily book online and see what difficulty level each game is. If you've done VR or escape rooms before, you can probably start with intermediate. Each game will require some communication and teamwork to solve challenges or other puzzles. It can get a little hectic, so make sure you mesh well with your group (truly). The VR component really makes you feel like you've been transported to another place - be warned that it can make you feel a little queasy if you're not used to it, but the staff are great in making sure you are comfortable. They're quick to help troubleshoot if you get stuck or anything. Highly recommend if you're looking for a fun group outing. We went over to philz coffee after and then went to Bare Bottle Brewing for some lunch and drinks.

We had a booking issue and the staff helped us out and offered a significant discount. In the room itself the GM was attentive and helpful. We tried two rooms (Temple of Razum and the witches one). I'd say both are closer to old school rooms with only sparing using of technology. Puzzles mostly make sense, there was one in each room that we'd never have solved without help. The rooms were mostly linear so better for smaller groups. We did it with two people and enjoyed it quite a bit. If you're looking for something to do in Napa these rooms are great.

The staff are super friendly and we loved our Game Master Lizette(might be spelling it wrong). The rooms were intricate and challenging and I enjoyed all the details! The room was AMAZING if you are a fan of Borderlands, but still really fun as a regular escape room if you aren't (2 people in our group didn't really play Borderlands, but still had a wonderful time!). NO SPOILERS, don't worry! The puzzle was considered a 6/10 on the difficulty scale, but we just wanted to have a good time with friends, so that was perfect! We had 4 adults, but I think kids would really like this room too! It starts out a little dark, so using your phone flashlight is DEFINITELY allowed, but the puzzles were so fun, and there were hints everywhere to find, exactly like an escape room should be! I really like the TV screens that offer hints, let you know when you're close, or tell you when you're super off-base. I also like that they let you choose if you want that. My husband and I did the Last Stop room for a date night and it was such a fun way to mix things up from dinner and movie. Then my kids became obsessed with escape rooms, so we did the Fair Game with 5 adults + 2 kids. We asked for unlimited clues and were able to escape with some help on the tougher puzzles.

Lots of figuring things out and collaborating. We sucked but took it in stride and still had a really good. Currently there are 6 gaming rooms, though more rooms are in the works. The games offered in each room change depending on how many people are in your group. And there are different levels, so once you beat the game, you can return to the same room to advance to the next level. If you fail, you leave the room for it to reset and then can return to try again as many times as you want. I'd never done escape rooms or anything like this, and was really impressed at the sophistication and technology. You get 1 hour and 45 minutes to play, and time flies fast. Came on a Friday night at 8pm and there were only about 2 other groups. Free parking in lot. The man showing us around (Tim?) was really nice. Overall a great experience to try. I'll be back with other friends for sure.

We beat at least level 1 on all the rooms except one--the marble contraption. I enjoyed that there was a good mix of skills required in each of the rooms. Some of the physical ones really tired me out! I think this would be a good birthday party activity for 7/8th grade kids and above, as long as they're semi-mature and the type of kids that enjoy puzzles.

There is a photo op with various props in the corner of the lobby as well as branded apparel for purchase. We were told that we had three free clues, and any more would cost us time (you can do social media for extra time). We attended wizard school, which is rated medium/hard (same as the other ones at this location in Livermore). Based on the theming, bringing a Harry Potter fan in your group is mandatory - it's filled with tons of references to the series which was pretty neat to see. The first room we were in was surprisingly huge and intricate, and was also the room in which a majority of the game takes place. We solved the first several puzzles relatively well after we took some time to take in everything. It felt immersive, like we had been transported to a magical room in an alternate universe opposed to just a room that was decorated. The puzzles utilized pattern recognition, literal interpretation, symbols and translation, listening to instructions, riddles, interaction with room elements, hidden object games, astrology, and more. We've been to a few different escape rooms, and consider our experience at Limitless Escape Games to be one of the hardest we've done. You can tell one person put a lot of thought, passion, and ideas in the puzzles, as they were quite detailed, clever, and cohesive - progressing through the puzzles aided to the storytelling. That being said, the structure seemed a bit linear in that we had to focus on one puzzle at a time and couldn't do much until something was resolved. Our party of two ended up failing out of wizard school pretty horribly, as we just spent too long on one of the puzzles and didn't want to take a clue out of stubbornness. The puzzle we were trying to solve was... lagging. As well, we asked for a hint but didn't get it for a couple minutes because they weren't paying attention. Our game master kindly showed us how to resolve the rest of the room, though, and made us feel better by letting us know that the escape rate is roughly 1/3. He also told us that their other locations feature more high-tech rooms, such as the ones in Pleasanton which we hope to try in the future! We were offered a discount for the rest of the day if we wanted to book future games, which was basically the same price as their Groupon. While disappointed at our failure, we did really enjoy the thoughtfulness of the theming and puzzles offered here which do differ drastically from escape room chains. I'd say this experience was a lot harder than the typical escape room, so I wouldn't recommend it for complete beginners; that being said, it's amazing if you want a challenge!

I do regret missing their photo op accessories in the corner, I meant to return to that area to get a group photo and totally forgot. IDEA: Perhaps they can move their photo op accessories toward the escape room exits for people to capture their photos there.
